The Main Buffet Here is it folks, the big kahuna! The line out the door was definitely worth the wait once you reach the queue leading to the Main Buffet section of the food court. Tray after tray of steaming dishes and cooled tables of salad wait for all you hungry workers. There's plenty of it to go around, too, so don't you worry. Keep in mind what you might want, because there are far too many choices to make it a last minute affair. Now what will it be, the Caesar Salad....or the steak and kidney pie? Eat up! |
THIS. WAS. IT. Mason was so ecstatic. The Food Court was finally open! And even though he wasn't even the Food Court supervisor, he was proud of all the hard work that had been done to get this place up and running. It was a lot of work and it was finally done. The Food Court was going to be a big hit; he could tell already. Even though he no one was there yet. But he was sure they'd show up soon. Mason stood there in his new suit, waiting for people to try out the new food buffets. He was eyeing the fettuccine already. It looked delicious. As did most of the food. Come oooon, people! It's food court time! |

The elderly man wheeled into the Buffet section of the new Food Court and gaped in awe. It was so big. And clean. And it smelled so scrumptious! His nose wiggled in delight as he stared at all the food before him. He steered his wheelchair in every direction, wandering around until he reached the steaming Beef Stew.. This place had stew? YUMMEH. After helping himself to the chunky soup, Sherman headed over to the smaller tables and got himself a serving of fruit salad as well. The crippled man pulled the due seventeen sickles and and eight nuts out of his pocket and paid. The scent of the food and his hungry stomach made him want to stay right there in the Buffet area and eat. But there was an official-looking young man nearby, BUT IT SMELLED SO GOOOOOOD. |
melanie walked quickly into the new food court that had re opened. She was slightly embarrassed that as one of the food court supervisors, she hadn't been able to stay and help out after her unexpected leave to visit on of her relatives, but here she was now, ready to help out. Taking a deep breath, she pushed open the doors to reveal the interior that the team had built. WOW. It was absolutely stunning. She opened her mouth in shock. Melanie could see the dessert table and the buffet table laid out before her with food that wafted towards her nose. It was impressive, she had to say that. The team did an absolutely amazing job making it look so welcoming for the employees. Maybe now it was time to help out the guests? She quickly scanned the room and found an elderly man that had just seated himself in one of the comfy chairs. Would he need some help or maybe she should just ask him how he is liking the food court so far. She walked over to the man, putting a smile on her face and sat down across from him."Hello, sir, I see you've got a nice bowl of stew there. It smells absolutely delicious! I'm one of the food court supervisors and would like to see what the employees think of it." |
Heather walked into the food court and stopped to stare. Yes, STARE. Finally. She didn't have to leave the ministry and walk into the muggle restaurants. No, she just had to take the lift right to the Atrium and then come here for break. She walked up to the buffet and stared at the items offered. Ooooh, a Cesar Salad. Yum! The lettuce looked nice and green. Croutons looking crunchy. Yes, this was the salad for her. Moving on she found some roasted potatoes and then moved right up to pay her 17 sickles and 8 knuts for everything. She moved away from the buffet and headed to find a seat. Yes, this was nice. |
OOC: Just so you know, Sherman is in a wheelchair, so he's not at a table yet (: Quote:
Ignoring his fruit salad, Sherman shoved a heaping spoonful of stew into his mouth. HOT. Hot, hot, hot! But it was good. He shoveled more of the chunky soup into his mouth. It started to dribble down his chin, so the old man cleaned his face up and then looked at the pretty lady. He couldn't talk to women, so he just grinned, with the stew still in his mouth, and then gave her a thumbs up. And then a salute. That was pretty understandable, right? |
Divinity straightened her apron and pulled on her gloves and got right up to where the buffet was set up... Checking each item in case it needed refilling... |
Demetrius wanted to see what the deal was about this new food court and of course see if it had any good food. He did not want this trip up to the Atrium to be a waste of time. Demetrius hated wasting time, especially when he could be working on something important with Nero. But since it was his break he decided to spend it in the new food court. He looked over the menu and spotted that there was a Dragon's Breath Soup and it was spicy. Perfect, Demetrius loved spicy food. He took a bowl, paid the 16 sickles and 25 knuts, and gave the coupon for a free drink. Which of course was some firewhiskey. Now all he had to do was find an empty place to sit. |
Ooooo, just what Dia needed; something new. Stepping into the foodcourt she was instantly stunned. This place was awesome and it now meant a shorter dsitance to full her stomach on those long days. This, she could get use to. What made it even better was just how good the food looked and smelt. Let's see...what would she try first. O_________O how terrible would it have been if she took a bit of everything...? Resisting that spout of curiosity to try everything she settled on the chicken parmesan and handed over 16 sickles, 25 knuts; that would have to do. With all these people already here she thought it would have been the perfect opportunity to smuggle in some 'lunch' conversation. What could she say? She liked meeting new people. Hmmm...where to sit...? |
Quote:
Vinnie smiled at the man acrossed the counter. She punched his meal and the coupon into the register and Took his money. " One moment while I get that firewhiskey for you, Sir." sha said before turning and getting out a cup and put two cubes of ice and poured out his beverage. " There you are ,Sir, and here's your tray..." she smiled as she slid a tray in front of him. Quote:

Quote:
After he paid, Mason decided to strike up a conversation. He seemed like a nice old guy. "That looks like some good stew you got there. You'll have to tell me how it is so I can get some for myself." 'Cause it seriously looked and smelled delicious. |

Sherman nodded eagerly and then gulped down a steaming spoonful. "Itsf good. Weal tasfy." Yeahh. That talking-with-food-in-mouth-thing wasn't working. =w= After swallowing the stew in his mouth, the elderly man looked up at the younger one and tried again. "I mean it's good. And real tasty." Nomnomnomnomnom. "You should get some! Or some of that fettuccine over there. I was going to buy that instead, but it feels kind of like a soup-y day," he stated while skewering a piece of fruit. Hmm. He decided that he might just sped more time in the Food Court then at Mysteries. it wall a lot tastier here. |

He handed Izzy a plate and gestured for her to go ahead of him. If he went first, there'd be no food left. |

Of course, Sherman couldn't talk to the lady. Why did people think old men could talk to young ladies? It didn't work that way. 'Specially when the old man was afraid of most women. The old man turned to the lady who had spoken to him and gave her a salute. "Err.. h-hi." He managed to squeak. Was that good enough? "I d-don't think I n-need any help, th-thanks." Did he really look that incapapable of things? Blush. "But I'll d-definitely take that.. err.. coupon, yeah?" YEAHH. Free stuff. Old guys liked free stuff. |

Now she just needed to decide what to have. Mmm. Could she have the bacon sandwich and the chicken wrap? She was feeling quite hungry today. Deciding that was okay, she grabbed one of each, before looking up to have a see how he reacted. |
"young couple" LOL Wes finds this humorous :D Quote:
He nudged his head toward Izzy, who was in front of him. Cuz, you know, he was payin' for the lunch. Quote:
This food court was going to prove to be baaaaad for his waistline. Probably. |

Mmm. Potatoes. Moving up a little, she placed some onto her plate, then watching him pile food onto his own plate. "Not watching your weight then babe?" She smirked at him. She knew he had a big appetite though, and she was only joking of course. |

Isobel just shook her head. "Don't I know it sweetie." It was how they had met after all. "But you are sat on your bum for most of the day now....so be careful." She just smirked at him, before mooching up the buffet, and placing some more food onto her plate. She was just joking of course. She loved Wesley just the way he was, even if he put a couple more pounds on. And now he was being polite to the lady. "Better." She nodded with a smile, as she came to stand by him again. Mmm. Steak. "I'll have some of that as well." She nodded with a smile. It sounded yummy. |
Quote:
Joking or not. He stepped to the end of the buffet with his loaded plate in hand, raising an eyebrow at Izzy and then turning to the food court assistant. "She doesn't want anything rare, not really. She always takes her meat medium-well." Silly Izzy. Rare meat was for |
"I think you'll find I'm a Mrs actually..." Isobel just smirked at him. She was his Mrs, so he hopefully already knew that. "And darling I do know what a busy department is. It's so busy looking all those secrets." That she hadn't told him. That she'd probably never tell him. Holding her plate in one hand, Isobel rested the other on his back, rubbing it affectionately. "I know you don't sit on your bum all day really sweetheart." Just incase he hadn't thought so. Oh. So she didn't want rare meat. Hmm. She supposed he was right. She just smiled at him. "Yeah...what he said." She couldn't work out why she would've wanted her meat rare. Hmm. Weird. |
I'm going to move the RP on like we got our food stuff and paid? hope that's okay! Quote:
He smiled much more politely at the food court attendant and then doled out the appropriate amount of money for the meal. "Pick us out a nice place to eat, dear." |
Kyleigh hadn't all together known what she really wanted to eat. Everything looked so good - and the fact she had depraved herself for far to long with not getting lunch she just groaned her stomach gurgled in response. She pulled her tray along as she filled it with all the delicious foods she wanted to eat today. Which wasn't much for today. She chewed the edge of her lip as she decided what she wanted. Maybe something warm - she knew she wanted a hot drink...so why not just a nice cool salad? She had no idea still as she scanned the buffet table. FINALLY something looked good. She piled a ham and cheese sandwich onto her tray along with a fruit salad. There, taking the coupon from the teller as she paid she looked around for the next table...drinks...and maybe, maybe she'd come and get something else? She wondered as her stomach rumbled once more. |
"HELLO EVERYONE!" Ian said coming it with Level One's staff in toe, "I AM IAN AMOROSO, THE NEW SENIOR UNDERSECRETARY!!!" He said and continued his conga line into the Food Court. "LUNCH IS ON ME TODAY!!!" |
Quote:
And what did he say? Lunch's on him? Victoria was glad she didn't had breakfast today. She withdrew from the line and stood watching the beautiful and energetic scene. |
Kensi...just wanted some food, ya' know? Like she got hungry.....like three times a day. it's somewhat normal, ya' know? So the redhead made her way down to the buffet...she hadn't been feeling herself lately.. She stopped, her mouth gaping...when this new undersecretary said he would buy lunch....for everyone! "Are you serious, sir?" she asked, quite perplexed...this was odd. Well, free food was free food, riiight?! She glanced at the other woman..."Hi there..." she said politely...you know, Kensi was just full of niceties...yep...not feisty at all... |
Stomach growling, Ella entered the food court and headed for the main buffet. But as soon as she got there, she saw the most... interesting scene. Was that the Senior Undersecretary? At the head of a conga line? In any other case, she probably would have just politely ignored him and go on her way, but he offered FREE lunch so she couldn't complain. Ella saw one of the women she met before looking a little confused as well and walked up next to her. Oh and another woman was there too. "Looks like today is our lucky day." Because who didn't like free food? Ella grabbed a plate and looked over all the food. It kinda seemed like a soup day... |
Quote:
She saw her grab a plate, and she, too, took one...hmm...."Yeah, and since I'm absolutely star--" but she suddenly stopped midsentence...and a glazed looked came over her face...she seemed to even be drooling...somewhat. Her mouth closed, and she looked blankly on....unseeing... |
You two. ^_^ Victoria stood watching the Conga thing that was still on. She made sure to get further away from anyone's range so she won't be dragged back to the dance. A big grin was on her face when she noticed two women come closer. They weren't from Level-one so Victoria supposed that the scene must be awkward for them. You know walking into the Main Buffet and finding a Conga line of ...employees and the new undersecretary. She nodded at both of them, "Hello," She greeted them. "Oh it is, we must take advantage of it," She replied on the woman's comment of this day being one lucky day. "I'm Victoria Smith by the way," She introduced herself. Might as well mingle with other levels' employees considering she doesn't get to do that much. "I'm a secretary at the front Desk," She added. If they ever dropped by Level-one they would recognize her. |
Quote:
Still, free food was totally worth it. |
Quote:
She was confused. And her mouth was all full of drool, so she wiped it quickly on her sleeve...EW. |

Quote:
And...oh. "I am a Patrol Officer...for the MLE's..." and why was this woman squinting so furiously...at the conga line? IT was just plain OODDDD! Whaaa? "I wasn't...looking at...anything..." she said, raising an eyebrow...this lady was being all loopy! "Are you sure you're--" But then it came again...the glazed look...her eyes lost focus immediately, and she opened her mouth...drool began to form, and then slowly it dripped... Ew. |
Kensi and Victoria ^_^ Ella smiled and nodded at Kensi. "Yes, it's good to see you again." And she was proud of herself for remembering who she was. Turning towards the other woman, Ella recognized her. "Oh, that's right. I remember you now." She was one of the first-to-see faces once you got on level one, after all. Inspecting the food as Kensi spoke, she particularly eyed the chicken. That looked delicious. But then she noticed Kensi stopped talking mid-sentence. Ella looked over at her just as the woman began... drooling? Ella looked away so she could wipe her mouth and not get embarrassed, but... how embarrassing. Even after Victoria's shouting and repeated questions, Kensi seemed to be acting oddly. More drooling... more staring blankly... Slightly worried and rather perplexed, Ella put a gentle hand on Kensi's shoulder. "Are you okay..?" Because drooling his much wasn't exactly... normal. And neither was stopping in the middle of all of her sentences. |
Quote:
The redhead smiled over at Ella...she had been so nice! "Yeah...you too! I am proud of myself for remembering your name as well..." she admitted with a giggle. Was she okay? "Um..yeah...why wouldn't I be?" she asked, but as soon as she said this, her stomach lurched. She clutched it, suddenly, an felt like she may be siiiick..."Actuaaaaally..." the blank look crossed her face again..."Iiss feelzy siii-" she said, barely understandable. Her voice sounded like a zombie. And the drool...it could fill buckets! |
Quote:
Quote:
And she wasn't looking at anything. Victoria shrugged, "Well, you seemed to be staring weirdly at something." And that was the nicest way Victoria could put it. Turning to the other woman who was also curious about the drooling, Victoria nodded, "Oh you've been to our office." Victoria tried to remember her name but she couldn't. It is pretty hard when seeing so many faces aday you don't get to memorize them all. "Do you work in the Magical Law Enforcement too?" She asked perhaps she and Kensi work together. Then Kensi started to act weirdly again. Victoria looked at her concerned, "Um….here that should help," Victoria handed her a handkerchief. Well, it wouldn't stop the drooling but it would help not to ,you know, make a lake. "Does this happen regularly to you?" She couldn't help but ask. |
...oh no. IS THERE A HEALER IN THE HOOUSSEEE?!?! Quote:
Seemed to be staring at something? Kensi was confused...."Really? I thought I was looking at you the whole time..." she said, and her hands were now a bit shaky; the plate she was holding could attest to that. Does this happen regularly?! "No! I d-d-don't know what's wrong!" she said, her stomach again feeling like it might PUKE. AAaaaahhh! Suddenly, her gaze went away again, she stared blankly at Victoria, this time. The handkerchief she was holding up to her mouth fell as her hands began to shake...and the plate went crashing to the ground, breaking. She then came back into focus and leaned on the wall...awaaaay from the counter...she put one hand on her stomach and one on her head...she felt severely ill..."I th-th-think I might THROW UP!" she said suddenly, as her stomach felt soooo terrible. She lost focus again, and she seemed to be staring at nothing...she wasn't blinking... |
Quote:
"No actually you were looking in that direction," Victoria said pointing her arm. "And you know looking at me doesn't cause people to drool despite how pretty I am," Victoria giggled then she trailed off....ehhh probably not a very good time to joke,no? Clearing her throat Victoria tried to compose her face, they were serious here. Someone was drooling and glazing for no reason. "I don't know why you were looking in the direction I tried to spot something out of the ordinary but I didn't," She paused cracking up in a smile, "You know unless you were drooling over that cute guy because he ....." Trailing off again. Honestly Jokes only come to her at the worst times don't they. That was so inconsiderate for the other's woman condition, "Maybe you should take a seat, "Victoria suggested. "And perhaps have something to eat so....you know...." Your drool will be used by something? Oh she wasn't going to say that out loud. Not that rude she was. |
Quote:
The nice Victoria lady cracked a joke, which made Kensi laugh, but then she instantly regretted this...because she had to instantly cover her mouth in order to not TOTALLY PUKE EVERYWHERE. So she DID take a seat, and she put both of her hands over her churning stomach...'Man...it feels like I have food poisoning...but I barely ate y-y-yesterdaaaa-" she immediately began to convulse, and while in the middle of this, her eyes glazed over, once again...only this time, she didn't immediately snap out of it... "Get meeeeee waaaa-" she seemed to be saying something, her eyes were still out of focus, and her mouth was drooling badly now. "waaateeeeer...." She wanted...water? |
Quote:
Food poisoning? Victoria's eyebrows creased ,"Umm...do you remember eating something from somewhere you're not sure about its safety?" She asked. Though it had to be sometime near. The blonde secretary looked around her, would there be a healer here? Or it didn't requite healers yet. Oh sure it did! The woman seemed to be convulsing and her eyes... Water! Victoria nodded at Kensi, "Ok I'll get you water!" Victoria strode towards one of the tables and grabbed a glass. On her way back to Kensi she remembered that she didn't fill it with water. As she got back to Kensi she dug her wand out of her purse and murmurer the spell none-verbally. Once the glass was full of water she handed it to Kensi, "Here you go." Will she feel any better? |
I'm so sorry. soo ssooo sorry...*smirk* Quote:
WHAT WAS WRONG?!! And then her glaze came over, again, and Kensi began to drool...and when the glass of water made that CLANK noise as Victoria set it down in front of her, Kensi seemed to snap out of it. But almost immediately, as she took a sip of water, her daze returned. She continued to drink, like a zombie, and finished the entire glass quicker than usual. She then felt her stomach churning, and her focus returned..."Oh no-" but it was too late to make a run for it. So she ducked her head under the booth, and BLLEEGGGHHH! Ew. Kensi couldn't beleive she had been sick...in public...in front of a woman she barely knew...she was highly embarrassed. And you know how usually after you VOMIT you feel better? Kensi felt worse. She groaned and cried, "I need some napkins!" she said, her head still under the table... EwewewewEEEWWW! |
Randomly jumps in...Please grab her. The beauty of working on one of the upper levels was that you heard or got news from other departments about what was going on in the building as it took place. Natasha had been reading up on a new prospect land which might be a good place to build a new magical community. Her train of thought was though interrupted by loud singing and what seemed like a hundred feet moving. Was there a fire somewhere? She hadn't heard any alarm. Confused the blond left her level 3 cubicle and wandered out onto the landing between departments where she perplexedly watched a conga line of Ministers office employees walk past. Not knowing why Natasha followed the conga line but at a safe distance all the way down to the atrium. Hearing the senior secretary's hard to miss voice announce free lunch she thought, why not she was hungry. Heading towards the big buffet table she passed two women (kayquilz) and (the fastest seeker) where at least one of the women looked pretty green in the face. It was probably just due to one of the usual ministry bugs which periodically spread around the levels. The last flu bug had been nasty but Tasha had luckily not attracted it. Taking a plate she started to shuffle a little bit of everything onto her plate. |
Text Cut: sick Kensi So she wasn't poisoned. Then what? The secretary didn't have any idea. Victoria watched Kensi drinking the water and she seemed to be getting better? Or Victoria wanted to see this perhaps. Just when Victoria was glad that Kensi seemed to be better the woman ducked her head down and ................. Victoria fought the urge not to run away, she couldn't just leave the woman sick here alone. Though no one will blame her if she flee but no! She wasn't bailing on a sick person! However, she took a step back just so her newly-bought shoes won't be affected. But she made sure to pat on Kensi's shoulder just to let the woman feel that she wasn't alone After Kensi seemed to finish...her business Victoria stepped closer again. "Are you feeling any better?" She asked in a concerned voice. Napkins! Victoria fished one out of her purse but the woman surely wanted more. That's when Victoria started to look around her. Text Cut: Nordic Witch Standing near was a woman holding her plate. Victoria walked towards her in wide steps, "EXCUSE ME!" Ermm...Why was she shouting? "Ahem, I mean excuse me," Better. "Do you happen to have some extra napkins with you?" Victoria asked. Please say you do! "We're having a little situation," She said pointing over her shoulder to where Kensi slouched down on the seat. Victoria looked down at the woman's plate and remembered that they were here to eat free food! Darn! Hopefully Kensi will feel better and they'd be able to eat. How selfish! Victoria's conscience snapped at her. She mustn't be self-centered and think only about herself. So back to the woman ,"She suddenly started to...drool and act a bit weird then she puked." Victoria winced at the last word. |
.... SPOILER!!: you two! Kensi was feeling a bit better, though her stomach still felt a bit weird...she coughed a bit, and her eyes watered. She blinked, and tears were falling down her face...but she wasn't crying. it was just from her ...vomitting. (EW!) She noticed a new woman come in...and Victoria ask her for napkins...Kensi pulled out her wand..."I c-c-can clean it up.." she stuttered, feeling a bit shaky. She brandished her wand a bit, and most of the sickness was cleaned up...she then said, "Aquamenti," softly, squirting some water down there...EWEWEW. It was time like these that made her miss her mother. Twenty five, and she still liked to be taken care of. She ended up being pretty skilled in the cleaning, seeing as she was always a messy person, she had to learn to do this well. She even took out some perfume, and sprayed A WHOLE TONE down there... "We c-c-can move booths in you want..." she said, her voice still shaky. She saw the new woman. "I'm K-Kensi..." she held out her wand...WAAAIT. She rolled her eyes, "I'll be back...get all cleaned up..." Did she have time to go to her apartment and change? Maybe...SHe chanced it. "I'm going to change..." she told VIctoria...she was shaking a lot, now, and her eyes were still watery. The drool, too, was still an occurrence... Merlin, she felt awful. She excused herself, and headed for the front of the ministry... |
this is lame, sorry xD Text Cut: Natasha, Kensi and Victoria Ella had spun around to set her plate down, and when she turned back around.... Kensi had vomited. Oh dear. Ella held her breath and patted the woman's back gently. She was never really the motherly-type, so she had no idea what to do in this situation except try not to breathe too much. "Let me help," Ella offered to Kensi as she started to clean up. Ella took her wand out and cleaned up the mess until she could finally breathe again. Whew. And then Kensi was talking about going home and changing. Eek. "Maybe you should take the rest of the day off." It wasn't really her shot to call, but... whatever sickness she had seemed pretty bad. Ella frowned as Kensi left and hoped she would be alright. Ella turned around to the other two women, one of whom had just shown up. "Well. Now that that's over..." And now that she could breathe again... Ella grabbed her plate again. "I hope that whatever she has isn't contagious," she said to anyone in particular. |
Making sure Konrad was still following her, Roxanne made her way into the main buffet where it seemed the commotion was coming from. And immediately stopped short. Didn't seem like so much of a party anymore, now that everyone seemed to have split up to get food. Huh. Of course, this didn't seem much of a place to hold a party anyway. What, with all the tables of food and drink set up and everything. "Well, the party seems to mostly be over now. You just want to grab an early lunch?" she asked. Being around all this food reminded her that all she had had time for this morning was a pop tart. Which wasn't really filling, when you thought about it. |
Quote:
Roxanne's voice caught his attention, though, so he quickly turned to look at her. An early lunch? Well, he wasn't hungry, but... "I can never say no to a piece of cherry pie," he grinned, this time his turn to lead the way to the buffet. Heh, it didn't truly matter whether he was hungry, or not hungry at all, because Konrad couldn't refuse cherries... or anything that had cherries in it. |
Quote:
She followed Konrad over to the desert table, grinning like a fool. After all, why wouldn't she? She had free sweets and a chance to actually extend her break. And the fact that she was walking behind Konrad slightly, giving her a great view of his back end didn't hurt either..... |
Sorry for lateness of this... Quote:
O____O Had Tasha done something wrong? Looking around her, she saw other people filling their plates with food so that couldn’t be it. It was free lunch for only level one people? The woman stopped a few meters away and stopped her theorizing and spoke to Tasha in a less shouty tone of voice asking if she had any napkins? Opening her bag she rummaged around for a few seconds before pulling up a handful of napkins. Offering them to the woman she responded "Here, take them all. It looks like they are umm needed." Catching another glance at the poor woman who was sick Tasha wondered silently why somebody hadn’t found it wise to escort the sick woman home and out of the food court. Food was usually the last thing you wanted to think about if you were feeling like you could throw up at any moment. Eyebrows furrowed and inched a little together as the napkin woman explained what had happened to the poor woman. "Acting weirdly how? Drooling and throwing up, hmm. It’s possible it could be some variant of that stomach bug which usually circles the ministry, but I’m no expert." And Tasha had never contracted it so she didn’t know if there were any symptoms to look for but drooling didn’t exactly seem like a good sigh. “I’m Natasha Warrington by the way. I work on level 3." She introduced herself to the other woman. Quote:
She watched Kensi leave for the exit on looking sort of shaky. Poor woman. Quote:
Tasha gulped. She was healthy as a horse and hoped to stay that way. |

Text Cut: Natacha Victoria stood shifting her wait from foot to foot while the woman searched for napkins in her bag. Fortunately she had plenty. Victoria smiled at her and took them, "Thank you, and yeah they're needed." Obviously it was obvious that they were having a....puking situation. "She was staring ahead with an odd expression on her face." The secretary answered on how Kensi was acting weird. "And she didn't remember doing so." Victoria frowned, "Doesn't make sense right?" Or was it Victoria's mind who stopped processing? And what 's this about the bug, " Stomach bug?"Victoria repeated. She thought she had heard something about it from one of the visitors who came by the front desk earlier but she hadn't given it much attention. And now she wished she had payed attention. As she was trying to remember what that man spoke about this bug she heard the woman introduce herself. Oh Victoria was so out of manners now which was so unusual for the receptionist. "Nice to meet you Natacha," She smiled at her not feeling like calling her by her last name. They weren't at work. "I'm Victoria Smith. Secretary at the Minister's office." She introduced herself. Text Cut: Kensi Text Cut: Ella As Victoria and Natacha stepped closer to Kensi. Victoria offered the napkins to the other woman who helped cleaning. And Victoria had just remembered the woman, she is a head of department. Victoria remembered seeing her on Level-one. Though she couldn't recall her name. Not now anyway. Victoria watched Kensi leave feeling sorry for the woman and hoping that she'd feel better. And then the head of department said something about contagious. Victoria swallowed hard and retrieved her wand out of her purse. She cast a cleaning spell non-verbally. Eh...just to make sure. Text Cut: Both Natach & Ella Victoria listened to Natacha's question who seemed to be of knowledge of this particular bug. Victoria nodded at what the head of department said, "True. She seemed to be fine at first." Victoria said. "Then she suddenly started to drool and her body started to spasm a bit." The secretary explained. It didn't seem normal at all now when she thought of it. "Is this bug treatable? "She asked the women. "And is it known what causes it?" Victoria didn't know much about this bug. And she actually wanted to know in case she encountered other sick person. |
Quote:
Sighing she said. "I sincerely hope it isn’t. I didn’t attract the last stomach bug that circled the levels but this one seems well um harsh and peculiar." If only she had paid more attention in her school days when they had spoken about symptoms of different illnesses, she doubted though that drooling fit under the stomach bug category. Let’s change the topic. Hm, "Should we find somewhere to sit and eat our food?" Tasha might have lost some of her appetite with all the vomit but food was why she had come here in the first place. SPOILER!!: Victoria" "It’s all very peculiar and nothing really makes any sense. I even doubt that it’s a new stomach bug even if Kensi vomited excessively. Drooling unless I’m wrong doesn’t usually tie in with vomiting, but I’m not an expert." Natasha commented to the women. Had the ministry gotten their own little mystery sickness on their hands? If that was the case then what precautions should she take to avoid contracting whatever bug had made Kensi act weird in the first place? Then the thought struck her maybe she was already sick but just wasn’t showing signs? No that was silly you couldn’t get sick by just sitting in your cubicle writing reports and creating models of possible event venues right? Putting a clear sock in flailing thoughts Natasha smiled cheerily at the woman closest to her. "Pleasure to meet you Victoria. I used to work in the minister’s office actually until I transferred when a vacancy opened up in Accidents and Catastrophs." She explained. Spasms were bad!! Tasha was sort of relieved she hadn’t been there when Kensi had started to do that. "I have no idea, if it’s treatable. Have other employees showed similar symptoms?" she wondered out loud. If they had then she hadn’t heard about it or if she had she had just written it off as a variant of the usual bugs that circled the ministry building from time to time. Sticking her fork into a piece of chicken Tasha plucked it into her mouth and chewed on it. Yummy. |
Text Cut: Victoria Well, this was certainly strange. Unlike any stomach bug Ella had ever heard of before. She shook her head a little bit. "I have no idea. I'm not really a health expert, but I've never seen anyone drool that much before. And then... vomit." For all she knew, they could be two different sicknesses all together. Poor Kensi. Text Cut: Natasha Ella smiled despite the odd confusion before. "Pleasure to meet you, Natasha. I'm Ella, the new Magical Creatures head." And even though she had been working there for almost three months, it was still weird to say. What Natasha said got Ella wondering. "Does the Ministry usually get weird bugs floating around?" Because she sort of made it sound like it did. Maybe they needed a health and sanitation department in this place. At Natasha's suggestion, Ella nodded with a smile. Sitting down sounded like a good idea. "Sure. Do you want to go over to that hangout place over there?" she asked, pointing to the couches in the corner. "They have comfier chairs." |
Text Cut: Natacha Victoria nodded listening to what Natacha said. The secretary couldn't find any link between drooling and vomiting. However, she too was not an expert. "I find this really confusing."She shook her head. "It probably expert healers to look into the matter." And they should find a treatment very fast! Before other people caught this disease or whatever it was. And thinking of it Victoria glanced at where Kensie threw up and was grateful that she hadn't gotten so close. "Really? Were you a secretary, an advisor or what position did you fill in?" Victoria asked Natacha when she mentioned that she was a level-one employee. Though Victoria couldn't understand why would the woman want a job in the catastrophes department. You know in level-one Victoria find it peaceful and relaxing. She didn't like being around troubles which wasn't really working out for her those days. However, she thought that it probably had something to do with refreshing the spirit or something. As working in the same position for too long would turn out to be boring and you'd probably feel that you don't have nothing much to give anymore. Victoria knew that someday she might get to that point but she wasn't going to work in catastrophes. Back to the disease thing, "I think I might have heard that a couple of employees are suffering from the same symptoms." She told Natacha. "Though I'm not sure in which level or whether they got cured." At Level-one you hear people chatting and gossiping especially being a front-desk employee but you never know whether what you heard is true or not. Text Cut: Ella Victoria nodded at the woman, "Nor am I. It's complicated and it could actually be anything." Victoria said. "Food poisoning or any other illness." She only now wished for Kensi to get better and find a cure to that. __ The blonde receptionist glanced at her watch thinking that she should leave soon. Time had flown by since she got to the conference room to meet the new undersecretary. |
Dacs moved over to the Main buffet part of the cafeteria. She was confident that the juice bar was well covered. With the field bag over her left shoulder, she surveyed the area and exhaled heavily. Yeah, she was still coming out from under the meeting with the heads and Wes after her brush with another colleague at crime scene. It was tiring some days and today was one of those days. But she couldn't think about that right now. Lowering the bag onto a table, she reached in and grabbed a tiny pair of tongs and evidence containers and bags. She paused and looked around a bit and took out a note pad and started writing up all the food that were on the buffet. Everything had to be done properly, plus she was still waiting for some extra hands to arrive. As she understood it, the entire ministry would working with MLE on this case. She was on those who would be in charge along with her boss, who seemed to be under it all. At that thought, Dacs decided she would stick it, try to keep her highly inflammable temper, cool and do her job. She moved along the table writing down everything as she went. |
Quote:
It opened its mouth and the voice of the Junior UNdersecretary was heard. "Me and my two other colleagues are available to help, would you like us to do something for you?" it said sounding very polite. |
Quote:
She continued moving along the buffet and writing as she nodded to the eagle. |
Quote:
He cleared his throat, smiled and said, "Good day, Ms. Dacosta. I am Zach McMillan and I am here to help." he said extending his hand to shake Dacs'. |
After following Zacharias around the food court, Konrad came to a stop at the main buffet right next to the Junior Undersecretary, facing the woman who was supposed to be Ms Dacosta. Working alone over there, was she? Good thing they were there to help. Hooray. Konrad would much rather be surrounded by paperwork than do Merlin knew what around the food court, but it wouldn't hurt to help. ... would it? "Hello," he said with a nod towards the woman, waiting for further instructions. |

"Alright gentlemen, we're just going to be collecting food samples. Now, we are not sure which food is contaminated so we want all of them. You'll need to be wearing protective gloves because we are not sure how they contaminate, whether through contact or ingestion. I have a few pairs of gloves in my field kit over there," she said indicating the black bag on the table,"You grab some of those and the evidence containers and bags are there too. A couple pairs of small tongs to retrieve the evidence and a few small blades to cut if you need to. Label each container and bag before putting them in the cooler." Dacs flicked her wrist and palmed her wand as it slid from the holster and flicked it toward the table, conjuring a blue and white cooler. "That's better. If you have any questions I'm all ears. Ok, let's get this done." she said, moving back toward the table to get her tools. Having what she needed, Dacs headed to one end of the table where she found potatoes. She used the tongs and picked up a couple pieces of roasted potatoes and put them in one evidence bag. Sealing it she plucked a black marker from her back pocket and wrote,Roasted potato on it. Went to the cooler and put it and headed back to the table to do the same with the mashed and boiled potatoes. |
SPOILER!!: ^_^ "Ah, forgive me," for the lack of manners. "I'm Konrad Scherfig. Pleased to meet you," he smiled, blushing juuust a little. He hated those rare moments when he forgot about his manners. His mother would not be pleased. And then he listened. ... and listened. He was there to collect food samples?! However, he was glad to hear that they'd be wearing protective gloves, but what Dacs said next made it difficult to keep his jaw from falling. On the floor. They weren't sure whether they contaminated through contact or indigestion?! What if they could get contaminated only by standing there?! ... moving on. Looking at the black bag she showed them, Konrad took a pair of gloves and put them on, and grabbed the tongs and a couple of evidence containers, too. Oh, look! She even conjured the cooler. And now... work. Right. In just a few strides, tongs in one gloved hand and an evidence bag in the other, he eyed the breadsticks, picked a couple of them and put them in the bag. Once it was sealed, though, he realized he had nothing to write with. "Do you happen to have more markers?" She did say that they could ask any questions, after all. |
Quote:
Dacs looked at Konrad and smirked a bit at his facail expression and answered the question that was on his face."What we do understand is that it's not airbourne or else we'd all be zombies by now. So, you relax." As she worked and moved on to the fettucini, she looked over her shoulder and said,"Yeah, look in the right side pocket of the bag; there should be some extras." Dacs sealed the fancy faerie fettucini, she marked it and placed it in the cooler."So, have you guys noticed anyone on level one behaving strangely?" she asked them. It was always in her nature to interrogate. If it was to get to the bottom of something then she couldn't resist. |
SPOILER!!: Did she just... hear his thoughts? It seemed so, when she answered his unspoken question. Maybe he was that obvious, but then again, he never was good at hiding his true feelings. If he had been blushing just a little a few moments ago, he was now blushing from head to toe, although it did help him relax, what Dacs said. Quite the coward, huh? Good thing he knew it, which is why he wanted a desk job. When she told him to look in that same bag, Konrad searched the right side pocket and, indeed, found a marker. "Found one," he said as he held it up, grinning triumphantly. "Thank you." Now that he had it, he neatly wrote breadsticks on the evidence bag, and put it in the cooler. He was picking some bacon when Dacs asked about any strange behaviour on level one. "Everyone seemed alright to me." Unless he was blind, everyone was alright, since he saw everyone every day, working at the fronts desks and all. |

It was apart of her job to be suspicious and that she was. Face masks were not needed in this investigation unless there was an airbourne infection from without...or within. |

"It's nice to meet you Beijing but our encounter will have to be cut short as you have to report to the quarantine area until you are cleared." she said in a firm tone. She flicked her wrist again and took out her wand. She summoned her patronus and sent over to Esme. Things needed to start wrapping up soon. These samples need to be tested so we could get to the bottom of things and get the infected ministry employees treated right away. She watched the silvery jaguar bound away. Before she turned back to the girl. "While I get this sorted, you check off the list I've made over there on the table to see what we have so far." she told the woman. Contamination risk would be lower with her not directly handling the samples. She didn't want to be mean, well not on purpose this time but she had to be careful. |
Beijing looked in the direction the lady pointed, she spied the list. She would head over there first, and make sure that everything on the list was covered. "sounds good" she said "and I didn't get your name". She would like to know who she was taking with. After talking to Dacs, she made her way to the list. Most people have seemed to have gathered enough samples; but Beijing scrolled down the list to check every last thing. There would be no blunders when she was in control. She was pleased to sudenely be put incharge, she was not even a member of MLE. The former Slytherin scenned her list again, looking for something that had not been checked off. "Ah, here we go" Quote:

As Dacs bagged two more items from the menu, the mozzarella sticks and the cheesy bread, the young woman did something Dacs didn't expect. Breathing deeply, she turned, her eyes snapping live coals."Ok,you just need to check that list off or head to level two to quarantine. That was and still is your only instruction. Are we clear?" she took another breath and remarked," I know what needs to be done, it's kind of my job. When this is done, I'm going to need this taken to the lab. I'll have to have you escorted there then to quarantine. At least until you are cleared." She wasn't going to have anyone who doesn't know the full situation take point, not while she was there. It would only serve to confuse an already running operation. Snatching the marker, Dacs labelled the bags and set them down in the cooler and turned to get more evidence containers. She was working as fast as she could. |
Zach walked around and near the bag to get some collection bags. He then grabbed a marker and some gloves so as to not contaminate the samples. He heard Dacs and someone talks and when he look around he saw that she was from the Ministry Department. Poor soul he thought. He thinks that that girl is just sad. She believes she is in charge, very delusional. He then walked towards the two talking. "Do you want me to escort her to level 2?" he said as he overheard the conversation. "Here are some samples I collected." handing over two sample bags to Dacs. |
Quote:
"Pardon me, looks like I have forgotten my manners". Oh merlin. Beijing had not interprited the instructions correctly, she was brilliant at making enemies and thouraly hoped she had not made another one. "I must have misunderstood what you told me about the list." Beijing was horrified inside to have made such a mistake, but on the outside she kept her cool. She was grateful that nobody had claimed the task she'd asigned before Dacs caught her. She figured she'd better head to the quarentine soon, even thought she dreaded the thought of showing up there. |
Quote:
She looked at the woman and sighed. Quote:
Dacs went back to collecting samples. Within fifteen minutes she had more items bagged and labelled. Items such as the roast beef, cornish pasties, the bacon sandwich and the ham and cheese sandwich. She really wasn't wasting time. The dessert bar was next and they did have another large spread to get through. She turned to the three that she was working with and said, "I'm going to run over to the juice bar and see what's going on ok? I'll be right back." before she headed away from the table, peeling the gloves off as she went. |
Victoria had come to the main buffet area. She had heard they might need help with some things and thought it might be a good way to meet some new people. She hesitated though, wasn't this where they said the illness was starting or did she hear them wrong in that meeting. Trying to decide whether to continue or not Victoria decided to just go ahead and see if she could help in any way. Walking into the area she looked around, having no clue who to even talk with. Seeing a lady that seemed to be in charge, Victoria walked up to her and gave the best not showing how nervous she was smile, "Hello, I'm Victoria Maroon. I was wondering if I could be of any assistance at all." Well they could always say no if they didn't want her help, but at least she asked. |
Quote:
She looked at the young woman and smiled before saying,"Loosen up a bit." |
Quote:
Turning Victoria went to the bag and slipped on the gloves, then took out the tongs. Next she found the containers. She felt like a secret detective or healer with all of this. Putting her hand down in the bag she found the marker. Okay now that she had everything where should she start. She looked around taking it all in for a moment. |
Quote:
She was feeling at ease that things would go fine. They just needed to get a move on. The dessert bar was left and then to get these to the lab. The other phase of the investigation needed to be underway. |
Dacs! Finally here. *hides* Gabriel snapped on the gloves Dacs had left for him on his desk earlier that day. He'd been busy reading through the list she'd given him as well, which is why he was later than planned joining the team at the food court. "Right, where do you need me?" he asked, marching over to the woman. She was charge of this part, he would bow to her demands. |
Quote:
Victoria did this for a few more bags and then she started placing the bags into the coolers. Looking up she saw another man join them, smiling she gave a small hi and then turned back to the work she was doing. More food into bags and then marking them correctly. She made sure to double check to get everything correctly. |
Gabriel, Zach, Victoria and anyone else Quote:

She doubled back and snatched the gloves that were hanging from her back pocket and hurried toward the buffet and started moving at warp speed. In about 30 minutes she had bagged and tagged the garden- Knome salad, the Cesar salad, mixed vegetables, tripe, the pork chop and applesauce and the dragon breath stew. Placing them in the cooler, she turned to Gabriel and said,"Can you finish up here and send Zach and Beijing up to the lab to be tested. Then join me over by the dessert bar. I'm just gonna be there a while and then move to the next phase of the investigation. After this you can head to level two and see what's going on with rounding up the infected." she said as she peeled off the gloves again. OOC: Ok, I added this to kind of speed things up so we can get to the dessert bar. |

Victoria was working on the food samples she had been collecting. Making sure each had their labels and each were placed in the cooler just as she was told to do. This was different then making a quidditch schedule, but she was glad to be helping out. As she finished up she looked around to make sure she had gotten all the samples in the area. Trying to see exactly who was left in the room, she noticed Dacs who had given her the orders to begin with. She was speaking with others about what to do next. Wow there was so much going on with this investigation. Victoria listened to try and figure out some of it, with no detective work experience she figured she was missing some terms they were discussing. Victoria walked over to the small group. "I finished the samples I was working on, what would you like for me to do next?" |
..... seriously. They had to pay? Per item? What kind of buffet was this? Or was it pay that amount and get as much of anything you want on that list? Rusty squinted at it but the menu didn't shed any more light on that, and neither did the actual food itself. He stared in consternation, his stomach grumbling. This was way too pricey to manage every day, especially given how much he had a tendency to eat. |
Quote:
Problem. One guy seemed to be taking his time. Normally, she would be too shy to say anything, but this was FOOD they were talking about. A serious matter. So, yeah, shyness went out of the window. "Hey, um, yeah, excuse me? I think I'm going to eat my arm if I don't get some food soon, so could you, yeah, hurry up?" Or move over a little, so she could reach what she wanted. Either was fine with her. |
Quote:
Arm eating though? "Would you remove it first?" He didn't address the rest. She could go around him if she really wanted to, not like there was some huge queue or anything. Perhaps she knew the answer to his questions though. "Would you happen to know if those prices are a flat rate for all the food listed below it?" Because it sure didn't say per item. Also, it DID say it was a Buffet. And Buffet implied all you can eat. So. Clearly a legit question. |
"Mmmmm" she hummed as inhaled the glorious smell of the buffet. Zoe was hungry...no, starving. After a morning of taking care of little tykes, she felt as if she could eat every last thing on the menu. All of the selections looks wonderful. Especially the Garden-gnome salad and the Dragon's breath casserole. Looking down the line, she decided to get the salad and casserole along with some mixed vegetables and a side of cheese bread. She could always take the left overs home. Moving down the line, she noticed there was the dessert bar to her left. Yes, she must leave room for dessert. Leaving room on her tray, Zoe grabbed a few napkins and headed towards the desserts before paying. |
Victoria sat eating her chicken wrap, it was a nice day. She watched people coming in and out. Sitting alone she had some thoughts going through her head. Gavin was sweet and she wished he was sitting with her, maybe she would go visit him after she was done. He would like that wouldn't he? Of course he would. There was not reason he wouldn't. Then her mind went to Charely and she sighed. She really liked him, the dates were going so well, but there was Gavin. She continued to watch people around her and a smile grew on her face. Moving her tray to the side, Vic slipped off her shoes and stepped on her chair. Stepping up onto her table she knelt down and put her hands on her hips like wings. "BUCUCK......BUCUCK... BUCUCK..... BUCUUUUUUUCK" Oh if Bart could see his mother now... She chuckled, got off the table slipped her shoes back on, sat down, and continued to eat her wrap. |
Hera Bradley was in desperate need of food. Mainly because it was more than halfway through the day and he hadn't eaten since breakfast. His stomach was really starting to fight against him. But he'd just been so busy getting everything set and taking care of kids. Once his healer duties were taken care of, he asked someone to cover him while he took a well needed break. ...and of course the food court was packed. With a slight sigh Brad got in line. Didn't these people know he was about to die of hunger? Well not really, but still. He wanted his food now. |
Quote:
It was days like this that wished she’d gone out to eat, or better yet, sent someone to get her food for her. Unfortunately for her, these bright ideas escaped her until she found herself queueing up for the main buffet. Ugh. She tapped her heal impatiently, not even caring if it bothered the person in front of her. “Excuse me, do you think you could pass me... something, anything,” that was within his reach. Emily disliked standing around. It was a waste of time, literally. |
Quote:
He turned around to see a very impatient looking woman behind him. Apparently she was as hungry as he was, but he was being an adult about it. Haley would be proud. "Uh sure." Brad turned around and grabbed a bacon sandwich, handing it back to her. "In a rush are we?" He asked raising his eyebrows. |
Quote:
"Mmmmm," she mummbled with a mouthful before swallowing, "I usually am." It was part and parcel with the job, especially given the circumstances in which she took the position. There was so much to be done, and not enough time in which to do it. Lame. "Emily Browne... MLE Department Head," she introduced herself, offering the man her hand for a shake. Granted, her hand was a bit slick with the juices from the bacon... but she didn't care, it was just food!stuff, it wouldn't kill him. Besides, she wanted to shake the mans hand, he'd just done her a favour with the food. She could eat now, and grab something else to go, once the line dwindled. Bonus. |
Quote:
"Not really the best way to live if you ask me." Coming from the man that had not eaten all day because he was busy at work. Oops. Ah. But her position kind of made sense with her being busy all the time. Brad smiled and shook her hand. At least his was full of equal baconness...if that was even a word. "Bradley Donovan. Nursery Healer." Man did his title suck compared to hers. But he liked his job so no complaints. |
Quote:
Bradley... she was impressed with his handshake. No squirming, no awkward wiping hands on pants, just a solid shake. As for the nursery healer bit, Emily's eyes widened with respect, "little ones... kudos to you," she didn't have the patience for kids. Recent run-ins though, were proving her otherwise. That wasn't to say she was starting to like children. Tolerating them and liking them were two different things. "That must keep you busy though," she added, noting that he too was eating in line now. See, it was efficient. Smart. Nothing wrong with it at all. |
Quote:
He swallowed and gave her a smile. "I'm guessing you and kids don't mix." Brad had actually gotten that reaction quite a lot. He didn't mind though. He loved his job. Bradley nodded with enthusiasm. "Yep. This is the first thing I've had to eat since breakfast." Busy, busy Bradley. |
