The once-cheery CoMC man did brighten, slightly, at mention of Kurumi. "I DID work with her!" he responded proudly. "How's she doing? I lost touch, but... she must be done with university by now... I wonder how the hatchlings are treating her..." Did she still work with them? Did Daichi know? She would be a good recruit to have in his department, but Willy would never discourage a student from working out in the field.... Well, maybe he had inspired at least one of his former pupils. Feeling slightly cheered, the Dragon man settled back onto his chaise to watch the spectacle of more people flitting in and out. And one of them seemed to literally trip over his own feet, which was funny. Heh. Good thing he had about 50 people offering to help him up. He overheard the Transportation one, Vickers, say the kid's name, which than rang a bell in WWW's old noggin. "Oakey? Gunter? That kid that was always narrowly avoiding death at the tail-end of a Blast-Ended Skrewt?" Or whatever the beast of the week had been? Was that really him? o_O |

The newly hired ministry employee stopped by one of the mirrors, double-checking his appearance out of pure habit and fixing his hair though nothing was really out of place. In the reflection he spotted someone else standing alone. Sensing an opportunity to interact with someone, Dale finally stopped faffing about with his hair and turned from the mirror to wander across to the dude. "Nice set-up here," he piped up, saying the first thing that came to mind as he reached him. "Are these things always so... fancy?" Dale figured that was the best way of working out whether he was talking to a ministry veteran or another newbie. |

As Nadia looked around she felt her blonde hair fall in front of her face, she fixed it gracefully. She was really loving her new hair cut. This long bob was something very knew to her. Whenever she got her hairstyle cut into a bob it would be shorter than it is now or have more layers. She needed a hairdo change for her new job. |
to all of the people~ Casimir entered the lounge from the dance floor. He'd walked around to survey the lot, but wasn't feeling quite up to busting out his funky fresh moves just yet. Naturally, he'd showed up just a tad on the late side, so there were plenty of people out dancing already, but he'd wanted to get to know some people before making a complete fool of himself. |

Not a lot going on as everyone was mingling amongst themselves. Deacon thought about what else to do later on when he had to be home. In between the minor ongoing giggles. Before he could move away from the spot Deacon saw some bloke approaching. So who was this guy that just came up to him? "Pretty much.. They like to go all out." To Deacon this bloke either hardly came to the occasions or was new. His attire said it all anyway, "First time here?" Why not, he could be nice when he wanted to. "I'm Deacon. In Magical Games & Sports. You?" |
Quote:
"Yeah. New to the Ministry," he said, looking from this guy, to the others in the lounge, and then back again. Deacon seemed nice enough. Easy on the eye too, but that was neither here nor there. "Nice to meet you, Deacon. I'm Dale. Magical Law Enforcement." He held out a hand to shake. |
Daichi listened and waited as Transportations and Mysteries guys were talking about how the uncle of Transportation guy had been the Head of the Department of Mysteries. It was kind of interesting and he took a mental note in case this ever comes up again. Oh! He was talking to him again? He stopped making mental notes and blinked as the man said his name. Nathan. “Ok cool…is that your real name or a name given to you?” what? He was curious! “And you know, your brow is going to stick that way if you keep rising it like that” he said as he turned to Vickers. “Didn’t we meet at the reunion?” he asked. He turned his head towards Williamson and then nodded. “I remember Mr. –I-have-many-middle-names-Neves” heh, he hadn’t said that in years! “I didn’t know he was in the same department though” As the old Professor became more cheerful after he had mentioned Kurumi, Daichi knew he had successfully changed the subject and felt more at ease as well. “She did mention that she was still working with dragon when I last saw her but I’m not sure about now because I heard she’s also married and has a kid” news travelled fast you know? Especially because he had ways of getting news. Oakey Gunter? That guy who fell down on his face was OAKEY?! Well…not much of a surprise really. Ok that was rude. “Hey Oakey!” he waved in his direction. |

Oakey nodded o the man who dug up those memories and looked at him. "Yeah I'm me" Oakey Gunter "and you're the Professor back then who almost had his Baby Dragon Eat me...Williamson?" REALLY!? You bring that up yourself! Why don't we find ALL the times you ran into some Magical Creature, Oakey! Remember that Chimera, the Acromantula's, even Grindylows were Annoyingly trying to drag him down...What was wrong with his third year at Hogwarts!? Being pegged as the Hufflepuff who always narrowly escaped Death was better than being 'That Dead Badger' and continuing the awfully FALSE statement about his former House. Ugh he was thinking too much now. Quote:

SPOILER!!: Dudes Nathan nodded. Maaaaaybe he wasn't in great standings with the American ministry/government. There was a reason he lived in Europe. Not that he was known as 'Nathan Prince' there. "Born in Tennessee, But i lived in New York for the most part." But his accent was a bit southern, not think, subtle. He turned to Daichi, This kid was interesting. "Maybe a little bit of both. Who knows." Yupp, more mysteries. There was a reason Nathan fit in the department. He happened to be a mystery himself. "You sound like someone's mother with that." Not that he would know anything about mothers, his own or anyone else's.. Would that be something Eliora would say to B? |
SPOILER!!: WWW Ok, how was he supposed to explain what his degree is about without sounding like a curriculum handbook? "Well basically its us learning how to design, create, apply or maintain magical systems, infrastructures and the like-- sometimes its something as straightforward as broom design, or perhaps something with more moving parts like the Hogwarts Express.... and of course theres floo network design and apparition safeguards and...."pause. Ok he just Ravenclawed. Are they still awake? "Y-you know.... like that." Trying his best not to send the former Prof to dreamland Vickers suddenly blurted "How's Roro?" SPOILER!!: Daichi His But his next words not only got those brows shooting up but his head nudging back "Uhm.... you mean the Hogwarts Reunion?.... I--" forgot? No that sounded rude "-- had something come up earlier and it just took the rest of my day." well that was true, mostly "So no.... My Uncle was there though... although I dont think you could've mistaken him for me." The head full of silver is a dead giveaway. SPOILER!!: Oakey "A&C?--" there was an interminable pause, a quick dart of his icy blues towards the floor where Oakey just tested the laws of gravity and then back at the Hufflebud "--good for you!" he said as he patted his shoulder jovially. Really he meant it. He means to say other things too but he didnt want to spoil Oakey's first day. That would be his boss' problem. "Well if you need someone to go to lunch with or get a priority Floo ride to anywhere... even to St Mungos-- Just shoot me a paper plane okay?." How long has he been at the Ministry. He had an odd sensation of it being really long but also like he just started. "When I graduated from Hogwarts. It was just part time at the time though because I had a job at Gringotts too." Why he needed two jobs and didnt go to Uni right away he wasnt sure, that part of his memory has always been a bit foggy. "How about you? What have you been up to before coming here?" SPOILER!!: Nathan Ah so that explains the slight twang. But Vickers brightened up on the latter part "I'm from New York too. Upstate." had to qualify there, just in case this guy hailed from the island city. "So did you get a transfer here from back home? Or did you graduate from Hogwarts?" Vickers was perennially curious about his countrymen daring to work on the other side of the pond. |
For Sabel! (Anyone else can grab too :3) Jasmine decided to go the lounge area and she if she could find anyone she knew. So far as she looked around she didn't find anyone. She saw people she had never seen before. She thought why not make new friends but she wasn't the one to make new friends. Typically anyway. She decided to go onto one of the chairs and just observe first. Yeah observing was a good thing right? No one would judge her. If someone was to join her she wouldn't be objected to it. Then she could make some small talk. She had no problem with that, her mother made her learn at her fancy parties. She crossed her legs and just relaxed in the lounge area and was scanning for familiar faces. She didn't wanna make things too awkward. |

Deacon's eyes glanced down at the hand for a moment. He knew better than to just shake another's hand without inspecting for some sort of trick. He was good at doing that after all. Not seeing anything out of the ordinary, he accepted the hand shaking it firmly. "Likewise Dale. So which part of Law Enforcement are you under?" Was he one of those Aurors in training? or a Transfer. Or something else. It helped to know what type of guy he was dealing with. Oh yeah, and if he was the type to get into or out of trouble easily. Smirking a little at the thought. "I'm in Gobstones Administration. Making it as exciting as Quidditch." Just so he didn't think it was all fun and games. |

Not even half way done with the night and she already met another new person! This was absolutely incredible! Hopefully this would be a nice year at the Ministry. Annabelle already knew she would be busy being a Personal Assistant AND a Liaison. Though, those weren't very difficult tasks now that she truly thought about them. All she really had to do was report straight to the Department Head, and basically act as an agent between the Departments. Which was fairly simple. Praying to Merlin, the ex-eagle wished that she'd be able to do more than that. Annabelle really hoped to help work out on the field to help catch some dark wizards or do some spying for people. Thankfully, the French Metamorphmagus had training in stealth-like missions. The woman made a pretty decent escort too. |

"Ohh, no. I graduated at Salem and went to College in New York, i just was drawn to France, i loved all the art, but i was finally able to get a job in my field. So i moved here." He didn't mind this story. It was the 'truth' so, right, yes. Good. |
*for Jasmine and anyone else :)* Quote:
Still, it was difficult to find a place to away from the hubbub of noise and chatter. He supposed that was the point, and it was still chilly out, so it wasn't like they could open up gardens or balconies for the guests. That was what the lounge was for. He moved over to the seating area, and caught sight of a woman sitting on her own. He spared her a small smile as he approached. "Hard to find breathing space in here, isn't it?" |
Quote:
"I'm with the Wizengamot Administration Services. Court Scribe, actually." Didn't really have the WOW factor that 'auror' or 'hitwizard' had, but Dale didn't really mind. He pushed up the sleeves of his jacket that had started to slip down. "Gobstones Administration," he repeated. "Do you... enjoy it?" Dale found himself wondering just what that job entailed, though he supposed if Deacon went into any real detail it would be just as hard to follow as if Dale started talking in complicated legalese. So he didn't ask. |

As Jasmine was starting to get bored, she noticed a cute guy made his way over to her. She smiled and nodded towards the handsome gentlemen. "Yeah it is actually. I am not the one for dancing actually. I like to observe more than take action.." she grinned sheepishly. "I am Jasmine by the way.." she introduced herself. She wondered who this mysterious guys name was. Was he single? She would ask that question next. She didn't wanna sound too eager. |

Taking the last few steps to the seating area, Sabel offered her a hand in greeting. "Sabel Dakest, Auror. Pleasure to meet you, Jasmine." Was she another one joining the ranks of the MLE? It was impossible to tell who belonged where at this party. The ministry almost needed department colors or some such. Almost. He supposed the lack of it was a sure conversation starter, one which he would bite. "Which department do you work for?" |
Feel free to grab her. ^_^ Ronnie entered the lounge where many other Ministry workers were already walking and hanging about. She had just arrived and by the sight of all the people, she saw that she was a tad bit late...she was always late to these kind of things, parties and such. But it was no matter. At least she was here, right? Smiling, she made her way through the crowd, hoping to bump into someone to talk to. The red head was happy to be back at the Ministry and was feeling quite chatty! |
grabbed! ^__^ Quote:
So when she spotted the woman who had been Bryce's assistant, that seemed as good a place to start as any. "Veronica, right?" she said, approaching the fellow red head with a smile, wondering if word had reached her about the changes in the department. "How are you?" |
Quote:
What department did she work in? She smiled and knew that question would obviously come up. "I work in the department of Accidents and Catastrophes. I am a Charms Developer actually." she grinned showing off her best subject. "How about you?" she asked curiously. He seemed he could be like an auror. Quote:

SPOILER!!: Jasmine "You're not alone," Sabel nodded rather solemnly, as if the loss of their dancing abilities was a great loss to the world. "I seem to have been born with two left feet, and neither has decided which one is the right one yet." Problematic, but it was slowly being resolved. Maybe by the time he was old and grey he would finally have the two-step down pat. "Ah,almost a fellow floormate. I'm on level two, an Auror with the Law Enforcement Department." Not much more explanation needed there. He knocked heads together when it was required. As for her department, he knew little about it and even less about what sort of work was involved in her position. Tucking his hands in his pockets, Sabel made his way over to one of the chairs and perched on the edge of it. "So, a charms developer? I'm going to admit to ignorance here, but what exactly do you do? Do you invent new charms?" Somehow, he had always thought that the list of charms there was, was it. Sort of like how muggle science had a list of rules and laws and that was it. There were no more to be found once they were all found, and no one could make them up if they fancied it. He often forgot that magic worked in the same way. If people could invent charms, well that brought on a whole new dimension to his understanding of magic. And just how did that work? |

"I'm Emmalee... Emmalee Quinn," she said, extending her hand. She wondered a bit about the most tactful way to essentially introduce herself as the new boss. "There'll.. be an announcement once the Ministry reopens, but I'll be taking on the Department Head position in the new year.." |
feel free to snag her :) Another year, another orientation…although it honestly surprised Amethyst a little that she already was thinking like that after only having been at the Ministry for a year. Sometimes it felt like more, but then she’d been kept busy by all the goings-on regarding the election and everything involved with that. Not to mention Jemma, now that her daughter knew Parker was nearby and kept reminding her of the fact. She had never felt like she wanted to avoid her ex, but it was just awkward considering he’d had to find out about why she’d left Chicago through other means than herself. He’d heard about her pregnancy through other means than herself, and even three years afterward, she still felt a little guilt over that. Especially now, that she’d started building relationships with coworkers again. She knew proper form would have been going up to the head table to introduce herself to the new Minister, yet she’d chosen to stall. There were several people there who were new to her, as well, which only added to the reason she was in the lounge area, nursing a flute of elderberry wine she’d snagged from the buffet instead of doing her duty. The night was hardly over yet, so she had time. |
