SPOILER!!: Charlotte
"I don't know, they haven't told me their names. Only these ones." Nod. Charlotte was matter-of-fact about this.
And now the ladies were talking about her like she wasn't even there, but that was okay, grown up people did that a lot, Charlotte had noticed. "Do you live here?" It would be fun to live here!"
Ready to go home. Charlotte absorbed this and nodded. Okay. In the holes and the white ball was called James. She watched with great interest at how James barged into the other balls and sent them rolling places on the funny table.
Blink. A go? She nodded enthusiastically and got up on the chair. "Where do I put Junebug and Jeff?" Because she couldn't hold the stick and the balls together.
She smiled at the stick lady. "My name is Charlotte Kettleburn! What are your names?"
SPOILER!!: Mariel
Mariel couldn't help but to smile at the child as she held up two of the billiard balls for Saxon, informing her of their names. A dose of cute was exactly what she needed today. The balls sufficiently racked, Mariel removed the triangle and hung it back where it belonged. "No.." she said to the little girl. "The triangle just helps them all get ready to go home. See how ordered they are? They are ready to go now." She nodded towards the perfect triangle shape of balls (minus two) at one end of the table.
Grabbing one of the cue sticks, she used it to point to a couple of the holes at the corner of the table. "They live in the holes. See this ball?" She picked up the white ball with her other hand and leaned down a bit to show the girl. "His name is.. James and it's his job to help everyone get home." She set the cue ball down on the table, hitting it with the stick and breaking the organized cluster of balls, sending them rolling in different directions. She glanced over at the girl, then walked over to the side of the room, pushing a chair to the edge of the table so the girl might better reach. "Want to give it a go?" She held out the cue stick to offer it to her.
Oh.. not Saxon's kid? Green eyes snapped to her co-worker as she informed the brunette exactly that and she couldn't help the faint smirk at seeing her facial expression. Oops? "My mistake," she said simply, chuckling at the error and shrugging it off. Looking at the child again, Mariel realized that she didn't much look like Saxon anyway.. no she looked more like.. "What's your name dear?"
Of course. How silly of Saxon to ask the girl what their names are when the balls hadn't even told her yet. Very very silly of her. The blonde simply chuckled at the girls comment. It was rather funny, wasn't it? Another funny comment, or rather this time, question from the girl. "Here here?" Saxon asked, almost sounding as if she were cheering to some toast. "No. I don't live here here. But, it'd be rather fun to live in a game room, wouldn't it?" Getting a nice conversation, hopefully, going between her and the girl.
And thankfully Mariel had decided to show, Charlotte how to play the game. Saxon would've probably confused the poor girl. Or herself, even. Charlotte even seemed very into the game, which Saxon found amusing. Even asking where to put her newly named friends where. "Junebug and Jeff can..." Saxon started off, but then realized the entire pool table had the equipment sprawled all over it. They were supposed to have been on there too, but seeing as Charlotte had held them before Mariel had started her explanation. "We can set them back up so that Junebug and Jeff can play with everyone too. Or, you can just start whacking them around with the stick and we'll add your friends soon enough." Saxon said, smiling at the little girl. An, Saxon waved off Mariel's apology. It didn't matter much.
"Oh, I'm Saxon." She hastily said as Charlotte had asked for their names. Also, Kettleburn, that sounded very familiar but at this point, Saxon couldn't tell as to why.

Oh. Yes of course Junebug and Jeff needed a spot on the table too, didn't they? And Mariel couldn't expect the girl to shoot with the cue stick with her hands full. She glanced over at Saxon as she attempted a couple solutions for their dilemma. "Why don't we put them on the table where they would have gone had they been in their triangle?" She had left their spots open on the bottom corners of the rack and she pointed to the approximate location on the table. "Then we can just continue without having to start over." Perfect solution, she thought, and she leaned the stick against the table before crouching down near the girl, her hands opened palms-up to accept the balls. Might be a little rude to just take them from her, no?
Oh that made sense. Mariel realized right away why this little girl looked familiar once she said her name. She was fairly certain she had even met her once before a few years ago. "Hello, Miss Charlotte Kettleburn," she grinned at the girl from her crouched down position in front of her. "My name's Mariel. Where's your momma today? Did she bring you here?" Or maybe came in to work with grandpa?

Charlotte thought this lady was very nice and very pretty and nodded with big eyes. It WOULD be fun to live in a game room. She NODDED. BIG NODS.
"You could make a FORT." Yeah! That would be the coolest forever and ever! A game room with a fort!
"Oh! Okay!" She looked rapidly between Junebug and Jeff and the table and Saxon and Mariel. Yes that made sense to her. They could play too. Whacking with a stick? She digested this information too.
Saxon was a real pretty name too. Charlotte beamed a big happy smile since she'd made a new friend and everything. She had MORE friends than Callum AND Chloe. She did!
SPOILER!!: and Mariel

Rapidfire nodding from Charlotte.
"K!" She deposited Junebug and Jeff into Mariel's hands and then stood up on tippy toes to properly look over the table. On the table where they would have gone in the triangle. Yeah!
Blink.
"Hi Mariel! Mummy and me," And Chloe and Callum, but Mariel and Saxon didn't need to know that part, "We are here to WORK." Nodnod. Well, her mother had something to sign or see or something? Charlotte didn't know really, just decided that she would be involved. "Mummy does charms stuff. She does con-salt-ants." Charlotte sounded it out as best she could. "And then while mummy works, I can have a sandwich with Grandpop!" Nod.
"But I came here first. I pressed the seven because I'm going to be that many really soon."

SPOILER!!: All of Charlotte
Charlotte thought this lady was very nice and very pretty and nodded with big eyes. It WOULD be fun to live in a game room. She NODDED. BIG NODS.

"But I came here first. I pressed the seven because I'm going to be that many really soon."
Ah. There we go. Mariel to the rescue. To be perfectly honest Saxon wouldn't have thought of playing the game like that. She would've suggested to start from the very beginning. But, Mariel had figured out a way and now Junebug and Jeff would not be left out at all and Charlotte could start playing immediately. "Smart thinking." Saxon said, giving Mariel a small smile.
"Kettleburn. Kettleburn. Kettleburn." Saxon said quietly to herself. And then it hit her. "Kettleburn! Minister of Magic. The name seemed familiar to me but I couldn't place it." She said in a slightly cheerful, relieved voice. The blonde just looked upon Mariel and Charlotte. That hadn't been too weird, right?
"Yeah. Yeah. Forts are really awesome. You can smack people with pillows and have fights and pretend you're in a castle." Saxon always made forts when she was little. "Then add on a game room within a fort. That's the best. I wonder if we could make this place a fort some day." She then started speaking somewhat absentmindedly to herself. "You know, in case you ever come back to visit, that is, Charlotte." The blonde continued, giving the girl a wide smile.
Saxon simply listened to Charlotte speak to Mariel. That was their little conversation after all, and she didn't want to intrude. Even if they were all talking with one another Mariel had specifically addressed Charlotte. In the meantime though, Saxon went over to grab one of the sticks and started to slowly stand it in front of Charlotte. But she said nothing, until the conversation was done of course.
