The Game Room If there's another place for you to chill at besides the Coffee Cart, the Game Room is open for all too. In here you will see a billiards table, a pinball machine, and a few board games for those with sharp minds. Chat with friends, play some games, pretty much just enjoy yourself! Now... air hockey, anyone? OOC: The Game Room forum is open for all employees, both G&S and other departments. Feel free to start a roleplay here with your friends. |
Blake was wondering around the ministry giving himself a tour of this place. All he wanted to find was a bathroom, but he was having no such luck. He looked around, but it was pointless. On his search he happened to stumble upon *GASP* a game room. OH! Blake couldn't resist the temptation to walk in and lay on a chair whilst waiting to see if anyone else would find their way here. He took out his handy mirror for a quick hair check and gave himself a wink. Now to wait for the ladies. |
Florence was making her way through her new Department, trying to familiarize herself with the place. She noticed a door slightly cracked, so she peeked in and saw a game room. She immediately was excited, then nervous. She saw a handsome man sitting in a chair, and she couldn't run because she already looked him right in the eye. So, she took a deep breath, exhaled and said, "Hello, I'm Florence Ares. How are you?" |

Florence wasn't quite sure what to make of this man. He was definitely handsome, and most definitely confident. It was attractive. She looked at the seat opposite Blake, and headed for it. She caught sight of herself in a mirror, and quickly flipped her long blonde hair behind her shoulder. She sat down, crossed her legs and said, "Hello, Blake. Are you taken?" Seriously?! thought Florence. I'm such a moron! Her mouth always seemed to go in the opposite direction of her brain. He must think I'm mad. |

Blake watched as the girl sat. He let out a small chuckle and replied cooly. "No I'm single and ready to mingle." He added the last bit with a wink. His cockiness was starting to show wasn't it? Being a professional Quidditch player taught him how not to be shy. Besides this girl isn't bad looking. |
"Umm, great! I didn't mean to be so straightforward, but I just get so nervous and start to ramble on...feel free to cut me off anytime," she replied. Gosh, she thought, He's really making me nervous! "So um, which office are you in?" She asked, trying to play off her nervousness. |

"Official Gobstones Club, Public Relations." replied Florence. She started relaxing a bit then. I guess it's just when I first meet someone new, I start freaking out a bit, she thought. "So, are you a new employee, or have you been here a while?" |

"I suppose it does." said Florence. She was pretty excited that they would be seeing each other around quite often (hopefully). "Oh, wow. You played Quidditch? For who?!" Florence absolutely loved Quidditch, she played throughout school, and almost wanted to play professionally, but after breaking her leg the summer after her seventh year, she took a different route. "Oh, and yes, I'm new also. I took some time off after Hogwarts, and traveled mostly." replied Florence. This conversation is going quite well. She thought. Hopefully, she didn't randomly say something embarrassing, like normal. |

"Oooh, you were Chaser for Puddlemere? I thought you looked familiar...I was Keeper for my house at Hogwarts! Which leads me to tell you my favorite hobby: Quidditch! I like most sports, which is also why I was hoping for this Department. I actually enjoy Muggle sports, too. Do you know any of them?" asked Florence. This was her forte; sports. She could go on and on for days talking about them. But I shouldn't, I wouldn't want him to think I was crazy, she thought. |

"Well I've heard of socfoot." Blake said proudly. Socfoot right? Or is it footsoc? Or football? Or soccer? Hmm... No. Definitely socfoot. |
Quote:
Hm, Florence thought. He almost seems self-conscious about being recognizable. Which is kinda sweet. "Oh, you dropped out? Well, I'm sure it was worth it, to play Quidditch professionally!" Florence replied. She then became somewhat confused....Socfoot? she thought... "Oh! You mean, soccer and football? Football for muggles isn't the same as it is for us. And soccer is the same as football for us." Florence replied laughingly. Of course she wasn't laughing at him, but it was rather funny how confident he was that that's what it was called. Easy mistake though. "So, why did you quit playing Quidditch for Puddlemere?" she asked. |

And here is the story. "Well I had a nasty run in with a very hyper bludger. It took a bit to recover from it." Apart of him was also just afraid of going back and trying again after such a long break. What if he wasn't as good enough as he was before the incident!?! "Then I just decided the break was nice. You know being on a professional Quidditch team isn't all that it's hyped up to be. There are the crazy fans, and the annoying paparazzi. Never really had time to be myself." So okay if that was only part of the truth. He didn't want to bring up the rest of it. Normally Blake embraces his Quidditch playing side. Very cocky and confident. Just last week he asked someone if they would like an autograph, but something was different. Hmm... "So then I realized their might be an opening at the ministry in the Sports and Games department and here I am today." |
Quote:
"Oh, that's all, huh?" Elle said with a smile tugging at her lips. He looked as if he were completely serious. Hmm, maybe I should test him on Muggle Sports... she thought. Then he proceeded to tell her why he was no longer a pro Quidditch player. "Oh my goodness. That's awful! But then again, it sounds as if it were for the better. You seem happy to be here, at least..." she trailed off. She was definitely beginning to completely be herself around this man. It's probably because he's so charming...she thought. "So, um. How are you liking the normal, boring life of a Ministry employee so far?" |
Quote:
"I sure miss Quidditch, but I like it a lot here too." He explained. "All of the fans were nice, but I never really got to know anyone for real." He never really had the chance to have friends while playing anyways. His friends from school didn't really contact him much either, unless asking for an autograph for their nephew or something. "Besides now I get to meet a lot of cool people, like you." He added with a wink. "What about you? Liking it here?" |

Florence just looked at Blake, with that 'Yea, sure' kind of look on her face. "Well, thanks."Florence said, smiling, and blushing a little too... "And, you will definitely have one friend around her, solely based upon the fact that you're a nice, friendly person. Not just because you used to play Quidditch."Although that doesn't hurt, she thought. "And I suppose I like it so far. Nothing has really happened, except for meeting you, of course. But based on that, I would say yes. I'm loving it here." Oh gosh, she said loving it here! Hopefully he didn't think she was trying to say 'I love you' or anything like that. But of course, Florence was probably reading too much into the situation, as always. She thought it had been a pretty easy conversation, and of course, she was right. She didn't become paranoid about anything she was saying up until that point. Hopefully though, she would keep her composure, because this guy seemed like something special... |

"Well that's good because Florence I think your my best friend here so far." Yeah so what if he hadn't used the word "best friend" since sixth year? He used it now. And no matter how childish it may have sounded Blake wouldn't have replaced it with any other word even if he could. So far Florence had been the only person here who Blake actually had a great conversation with. All of the other conversations seemed so limited and very "professional". "I think this room is lucky for me. I like sports and this is the game room. So far this is the best time I've had in the ministry so I think this room is my new lucky-room." Weird, but somehow it made sense. |

"Finally! You admit defeat!" Florence said triumphantly. Although they weren't really fighting over the name, she just thought it would be a way to get him to open up even more. "Best friend? I'm okay with that. And honestly, you're mine, too. I talked to another man earlier, but it was brief, and he kinda seemed put off by me for some reason. So I guess we already have a lot in common." She smiled at him, and thought that things couldn't get better. |
Quote:
Put off by her?! Who would be put off by Flor. If anything Blake wanted to reply cheekily with, Put off by you? Well I'm just the opposite. I'm turned on by you. But he decided that it would be a bit much so he refrained from doing so. "Yeah we do have a lot in common." Blake added in agreement. "So Flor, you said you traveled. Well where to?" |
Brooke went into the room and sat down- fluffing up her red curls as she looked around. She liked this department... it was fun! She smiled politely at people, wondering if there was anyone around she could talk to. |

Flor? Hmm. It was rather nice, so she laughed a little and said, "Haha! I do like it, but then again it sounds like floor. But still, I like it." She replied. "Indeed, we do have quite a bit in common. And oh, I just went around random parts of Italy, Russia, and then made my way to Australia. I loved Italy, but I have to say, Australia was the best trip anyone could take. I was alone, so it must be better when you have someone with you, though..." She trailed off. She had noticed a red-headed girl walk into the room and sit down. She immediately looked over at Blake, and noticed he had seen her as well. Hopefully, he wasn't going to blow her off for the red-head. Florence kept her face calm, which was hard to do since she was trying to insinuate that hopefully one day they'd take a trip together. "Hello," Florence said to the girl. |
