The Dessert Bar Yes, your mother always told you not to spoil your appetite with sweets; but your mother isn't here, is she? The Maintenance employees did well in the other parts of the food court, but it’s easy to see that they spent plenty of time planning and setting up the buffet-style table dedicated to the sweeter things in life--and really, who would deserve dessert more than you after a long shift of obliviating Muggles or sending out press releases to put an end to the most recent Ministry scandal? When you approach the table, you find a stack of plates and bowls at each end, and dishes of delicious-looking desserts lining both sides of the long expanse. Walk, don't rush, because there's plenty of pudding and pies for everyone! |
Stan arrived at the Dessert Bar. Hmmmm... No one from her department was running it. They must all be running the other food areas. All right then, she would man(or woman) this one. |
Ms. Bya Aliace strolled over to the Dessert table first. Now why was it that the dessert table was positioned BEFORE the Buffet Table. Maybe she could ask a few questions to whoever was running this. |

Dia was on her way out when her eyes suddenly caught something on the dessert menu. She gasped, hurrying over to see if it was really true and her heart did a dip....They had chocolate cake...being a chocoholic this was like a pice of heaven had dropped to the earth for her to enjoy. Only 5 sickles? Pssh, she wasn't going to let this get by. Reaching into her purse she pulled out the 5 sickles 14 knuts and grabbed a slice. Hmm...who was she paying for this...? |

Kensi chuckled gleefully to herself and glanced at the menu..hmm...what did she want? There was just TOO MUCH CHOICE. The redhead was NOT hungry at all...but she wanted a dessert so badly...of course, she did have this lemonade...buuuut that didn't mean she couldn't have a little snack. And two for three sickles?! That was a steal! She dug in her bag for some change, pulled out a few sickles, and sighed as she stretched her neck to look for yet another worker...She saw a girl nearby who looked like she might be having the same problem... "I can't seem to find out how to pay, either..." she told the other woman, furrowing her eyebrows curiously. |

The person was lucky she had decided to be decent today... Oh...another worker--also having the same problem nonetheless! Just what was going on anyway. She didn't have all day to stand here and watch the cake mocking her. "This is going to be a huge problem..." She glanced down at the chocolate cake in her hands. "Do you remember seeing anyone on the way over here?" Maybe the woman could have been more help than she realized. |

She pulled out her money pouch and jangled it around a little...maybe it would attract the attention of a worker...or whoever... Quote:
Oh. This must be the worker who would take their money, and then they could eat the desserts in peace! Yay! "I think she's the one we pay..." she told the other woman, and she stepped closer to the worker on duty. "I want two cookies..." she said clearly...hmm. This was weird. Having a whole dessert bar at work...Kensi was going to gain a little weight... |
Sugar. Elinor was always wary of sugar, because, being a woman, it was far too easy for her to get carried away, especially in the presence of... Chocolate. But she was resolved. One desert. One drink. And that was it. She already knew what she wanted, her coupon clasped between two fingers. She knew she wanted a chocolate lava cake, fishing the money out of one pocket, and with her coupon, a vanilla cappuccino-- Her very favorite. The lady glanced around, spotting some familliar faces, and giving them a nod. There had been a lot of hype over the food court lately, and even though Elinor wasn't a big fan, her new boss had mentioned it, so she felt a little obliged to go. She stepped up to the person who was, evidently, in charge, with her lava cake. "Just this, thank you, and a vanilla cappuccino," Elinor said as she set down the money and the foil coupon. |

She saw the women excitedly get out her money...and she seemed to give Kensi's bag of gold a weird look. Maybe Kensi just carried too much money around...she did have a lot, but she didn't want people to think she was trying to brag or anything! But she grinned over at the other woman nonetheless. "Yeah...I see that this place is going to be trouble for me..." she motioned at all the yummy cookies and cakes...she barely had enough time to work out and stay in shape now..."And I'm Kensi, by the way..." she held out her free hand for the woman to shake. The redhead was trying to be all friendly...she needed to make some friends! |
Food court! Whoever came with the idea, Konrad totally agreed. It was... awesome! Well, he didn't know what to say or think about the food served over there but, for the first time, he let his growling stomach in the hands of the - errr... he didn't pack anything to eat at work, that's what he did. So, even if he liked the food or not, he had no choice but to eat something. But... as soon as he stepped inside, his eyes darted across the food court directly towards the dessert bar. Heh, who needed food, when there were sweets? Walking over there, he stopped and stared. Those pies looked so good... and the pudding... and the giant eclair... but what should he get? Tough choice. |
Rose wandered around the food court for a while, looking rather impressed. The maintenance department had done such a great job with the place. The food court really did look amazing. She felt proud of Mason. And, she'd kind of been trying to find him but then again, the place was so crowded. It was the lunch hour, after all. It would be practically impossible to find anyone. Anyway, she was a little tired from all that walking around and she had to head back to work soon. But, she spotted the dessert bar close-by. She could do with some ice-cream. And.. she stopped mid-step when she noticed Konrad standing nearby. Great.. Just great. Now, what? |
Cherry pie it is! Well, everything else looked delicious, and he was sure he'd try all of those tiny pieces of Heaven, one at a time but, given the fact that he liked cherries so much... he decided to try the cherry pie first. He was about to search through the back pockets of his jeans and ask for the pie, but then he saw a pair of eyes gazing at him, and he couldn't really ignore them. It was Rose. She was looking at him and saying nothing and... she didn't even look pleased to see him. Heh, could he blame her? Of course he couldn't. So... not exactly knowing what to do, he waved at her with a wry smile on his lips, wondering whether she would say anything to him or not. If she wasn't going to say a word... he wasn't going to push his luck. Not with their on again, off again friendship... or whatever they were. Sigh. |
Rose ran a hand through her hair nervously, not sure what to say. It wasn't that she didn't want to see him, it was just.. she was surprised, that's all. She'd been bumping into him quite often these days. They were friends but for some odd reason, she always felt a little awkward around him. She gave a small smile when he waved at her, before she joined him at the dessert bar. Trying not to make this any more awkward than it already was, she smiled up at him 'Hey, Konrad." |
Oh, there she was. Konrad was sort of glad that she decided not to ignore him or go on with the staring contest, but it also felt... rather confusing. Why couldn't they be like two normal friends all the time? Was it because they were both remembering how they used to be around each other... more than a year ago? Pffft, such a long time has passed. Snapping himself back to reality as he watched her approach him, he felt the corners of his mouth twitching into a large smile, because... well, because he always enjoyed Rose's company, whether the feeling was mutual or not. "Hi." Just as he said that, he found his wallet, which was tucked in his left back pocket of his jeans and eyed all that deliciousness next to them, then turned to look at Rose with a mischievous grin plastered on his face. "Can I buy you something?" Heh, maybe she expected a how are you?, but then again, he always liked to be... different. But seriously, he couldn't eat what looked like a very delicious piece of pie and not get anything for her. |
Rose couldn't help but smile back at him. Huh. She didn't even know how to act around him anymore.. it was kind of confusing. And, he offered to buy something for her. The smile on her face widened a little. Heh, he was always a gentleman. "Yeah, sure. I think I'll have some ice-cream." What? She loved ice-cream, even if she didn't get to eat it as often as she liked. Unfortunately. "Chocolate, please." She tucked her hands in the pockets of her jeans, feeling slightly less awkward. "What are you going to have?" |
Blink, blink. Did Rose just accept, without even trying to stop him? Huh. For some unknown reason, Konrad was ready for a long battle, and even a He didn't know they had ice cream, too, but... after quickly scanning the menu, he indeed, saw that there was that ice cream bowl. Hmmm. Maybe he'll try one some other time. After he asked for the chocolate ice cream and his pie, he turned back to look at her. "Cherry pie." His grin was so large that it hurt, but he really, really loved cherries, so it felt like Christmas for him. "Do you want some of that, too?" Or... he was willing to share, just in case she was curious... but only this time. He wasn't fond of sharing his sweets, but only one exception was acceptable. |
Rose looked at the menu as Konrad placed the order. Hm. They even had chocolate chip cookies. She was definitely going to get that the next time she was here. Cherry pie? Rose raised an eyebrow when she noticed how happy he looked. Huh. Did he love cherry pie THAT much? Wow, okay. "No, thanks. I don't really like cherries." Yeah, she knew that was weird but she never did like them, for some odd reason. She was very fussy when it came to food anyway. |
Just as Konrad heard that she didn't like cherries, he GASPED, eyes wide, mouth slightly open and all. How could she not like them?! Really, to make him happy, one had to lock him in a room full of cherries and he'd be in his own Heaven. His train of thought had been interrupted, however, by the lady who handed him the bowl of ice cream and his cherry pie. After paying for those, he gave Rose what seemed to be a pretty large bowl, smirking. "Good luck with that." Because it was BIG. And for a tiny person like her... pfff, he didn't want to tease. Not yet. Instead, he eyed his own piece of Heaven and the large grin was back on his lips. "You don't know what you're missing." Nope, she had nooooo idea. "Shall we sit somewhere?" |
Rose rolled her eyes at his expression. "I don't know.. I haven't liked them since I was a kid." She was the only person in her family who didn't like cherries.. or probably the only person in the world from the look on Konrad's face. Heh. And, her eyebrows shot up when Konrad handed over the bowl of ice-cream. Um, okay. It was big.. REALLY big. She had no idea how she was going to finish off the entire bowl.. sigh. "Yeah, let's sit." She headed toward one of the empty seats nearby and sat down, before taking a large bite of her ice-cream. It was great. Amazing, even. "So, what have you been up to?" |
The girl still wanted something else to have at the table. Maybe something sweet and savory? Still, she had no idea what sweet thing to get. Grumbling she ran her hand through her hair, her tray sitting on the table in front of her as she decided what to get. Her mouth felt like it was ready to bite into the pumpkin pie the minute she saw it. It reminded her of school - and pumpkin was one of her favorite pies. Placing a slice (and resisting placing the ENTIRE pie) onto her tray she turned and made her way to pay for the foods. When finished paying she collected a second coupon SCORE. |
