Not that his dad was cool. Ahem. He also signed up for the raffley thing. He wasn't sure what it was, but the Irish thing - the leprechaun, was shouting about it, so it must be good. He was allowed, right? It wasn't like his DAD was signing up! Quote:
He'd barely finished speaking, and giving Tyler a nod, when his feet went out from underneath him and he was laying backwards on the grass. "Woah." He wrestled his friend a little before he began speaking, and was maybe a little out of breath when he was pulled back up. "Dads." He said under his breath, rolling his eyes. "Glad you came. Now I'm not stuck with Saffron all day." Corbin ran his fingers through his hair, very much like his father did, far too often. "Mum and Saff are over there." Cue head jerk towards the foody place. "At least, that's were I left them. Dad's working at the broom trials thing. He said there's an invisible one. We should try it!" |
Quote:
Did that make her sound wishywashy? Was she supposed to stay a Puddlemere fan for arbitrary reasons when she had a good reason to cheer for someone else? Best not over think it. "Perimeter could be sloppy on a regular game day, but they've limited entrance to a few manageable spots and people are contained. It's pretty easy to monitor people as they come and go." |
SPOILER!!: Victoria Cam went ahead over toward the counter and sat the things he had in his hands down. He nodded. "Thanks and by the way you and your department did a wonderful job with this event." He gave her an encouraging smile. Before they started talking about the going ons at Hogwarts. It seems both of their happy moods has gone out the door with this topic."Yeah, I know. This is the first time shes gone off to school. I like to make sure she's okay or needs anything. And now she's got this boyfriend, don't know what his name is." Cinna could at least gave him the name, right? Anyway not knowing what was going on was the worse. "We should have been notified about it sooner. and not from the paper." That was just opinion on it. "I really don't mind. Maybe when you come by I can sign something then." Cam loved doing things for the fans. He could remember being a kid and wanting every players autograph. Heck there were some here he'd like to have. He still had all of them from his childhood. He would have been mad as a hornet if he couldn't come to something like this. "Probably they are pretty close friends." He nodded. He couldn't tell who she hung out with more over the summer Bart or the girls. But it did sound like something they would have talked about. |
Quote:
Moon walking a bit away he turned and strutted toward the kid again. Putting a batty hand up for a big Barny high five! The kid wasn't too old for hugs, was he? Well he was getting one and moving closer he opened his arms and gave a big batty hug! Letting go of the boy he gave him a hair ruffle before he strutted towards someone else to entertain. |
Quote:
BARNY. That bat was going to be the death of the wasp. Couldn't he see that Sting had BETTER things to do? He was interacting with an AMAZING fan. No time for a batty bug. Sting just looked over and waved his waspy hand as if to say 'shoo Barny' and added a STINGER WIGGLE for good measure. Ha. Quote:
Mr. Sting. He liked that. A lot The wasp gave the boy a little happy pat on the head. Kaia, OF COURSE he knew her she was his favorite on the team. Yep, yep! Mr. Sting buzzed happily and added a few enthusiastic head nods and extended hands. Kaia was AWESOME and a great beater too! |
SPOILER!!: Mariel As Mariel said about Langen she noticed the girl finally out of the corner of her eye. “Yes, I think Langen would be perfect since she’s overlooking this area.” She couldn’t help but squint at her. She knew she wasn’t a sales person for the day, right? Their job wasn’t to sell things it was to make sure the entire event ran smoothly. She kept watching her a bit more as she seemed chummy with the player. Maybe she knew him personally? Though he seemed much much older, maybe an uncle or something. Vic didn’t put much thought into it and turned to look at other things. The mascots seemed to be doing better and had the baby stopped crying? That was fantastic it, didn’t need people running off because they were annoyed by a baby. Overhearing Mariel giving Langen a job that they had just discussed the thirty five year old’s brown eyes snapped as it seemed Langen ignored Mariel fully. She hadn’t even said anything to show she heard the Department Head’s words. No, no this wasn’t going to go over well, but Mariel was the head boss, so she figured she’d let her continue to deal with the issue for now. If Langen kept up the flirty behavior and ignoring her duties she’d be pulled from the area to do something different. SPOILER!!: Cam Oh his thanking did bring a nice smile to Victoria’s face, “Well I’m glad you are enjoying it. My department head will be pleased to know that players are having as much fun as the fans. My team certainly have worked hard.” She was proud of her workers and would have to really show her appreciation soon. “Oh, that’s right. I forgot she didn’t go last term. I had seen her at a match or two last term when Bart played.” She chuckled at the reminder. “The first time I saw her I actually noticed her because of my son’s sweatshirt she was wearing.” It was a shirt that at first she thought could just be the same, but the more she looked at it the more she knew it was his. She chuckled at the man, not meaning to be mean, but he was clueless and it was kind of sweet in a not so great for a parent way. She summed it up as he was a man and oblivious to the obvious. “I could give you that name, Bart.” There he knew now, how he didn’t know before she wasn’t sure. Vic had known for some time, but it was a bit obvious if he just observed them together. “I’m just grateful we have the paper, at least we do find out.” If they didn’t have the prophet they’d never know what was going on. “That would be wonderful thank you. I know he would love something with your name on it. He’s very close with Wade Potter since Wade’s father and I were almost married, so I’ll probably be near the Tornado’s soon enough.” She gave another smile, he seemed about done so she didn’t want to keep him if he was ready to leave. |
SPOILER!!: mariel SPOILER!!: Langen Robert was watching the girl rather amused as she chatted on about what he could by though he already knew what he was going to do it was amusing nonetheless. He looked up as he heard his name and put on his, I'm famous look at me, grin. This time however the face looked familiar though he couldn't place it. When she introduced himself though his grin turned genuine and he laughed, "I remember you. Couldn't place the face though." Before he could say anything else though her attention turned to the young woman he was with. He reached up and scratched the back of his head a little embarrassed. Obviously Mariel was this one's boss. He didn't mean to get anyone in trouble. Then the banter went from playful and flirty to all business and he sighed. Oh well. "I'll take two of everything with Puddlemere United on it," he said offhandedly. He did that every place he went and Liz hated it but tough. Only thing he wouldn't get from these places was brooms not because the quality was worse but because then Liz really would kill him. He turned his attention to Mariel and smiled, "So besides putting these things together what have you been doing?" |
SPOILER!!: vic Cameron really hoped this would become yearly thing. That would be nice. He went ahead and paid for everything before turning back to Vic. "I've been excited about it since I found out about it. I've not done one there before." They had lots of these meet and greets in America when he had that short stint playing there. He was glad to have came back to his hometown to play. Cam nodded "Yeah, my mother homeschooled her her first two years. She begged to go to Hogwarts. I was very hesitant to let her go. Even with mums health deteriorating." Another bad thing about this no communication thing. The chaser knew exactly what sweatshirt she was talking about. Actually he remembered Cinna saying that he had gave her the sweatshirt. But he didn't think anything about it then. "Yeah, I know exactly which one you're talking about," It was a year ago or something. She was way to young to be thinking about boys. She still was. Cam blinked. Confiding in her about this event, giving her his sweatshirt, and them spending so much time together. Really? Just as the obvious slapped him in the face. He heard her say it. "Honestly I'm surprised that I didn't realize it sooner." Mothers were the ones who noticed these things, right? It all did make sense though. He was relived that I was Bart and not some older student that was like three years older or something. Still she wasn't old enough to be dating yet. In his opinion. "Thank goodness. At least we know why we're not hearing from them." If out if the blue he just stopped hearing from her he would have gone mad. It was bad enough the short span that he wondered where her letters were. Cam smiled when he heard her mention Wade. "Good guy, love playing with him. Very talented." But by the way it sounded how they knew each other she probably already knew that. "Well come on by. We'll be there." He said with a chuckle. |

Handing over some gold and silver to the sales assistant, with a generous tip, Emily turned her attention fully to Branxton. Sloppy on game days... "That's not our concern. They've got our evaluation, what they do with security on those occasions in their prerogative. So long as this event goes smoothly we've done our jobs." |
Quote:
Vivi nodded along at Emily's assessment as she tucked her own gift bag away inside an expanded pocket. "I can't see why it wouldn't go smoothly, but I'll do another sweep of the entrances before I come back to this area." Unless Emily wanted her to look somewhere else? |
Quote:
Winston waved it off. "Nothing wrong with that." It would probably be much easier to just be a casual fan. Not a diehard like he was. "I'm a wasps man myself. I have an embarrassing amount of memorabilia." Sad but true. |
Quote:
'Uge, massive grins to the little voice, 'nd a wave t'wards d'table with d'paper. Boss for d'day lady would be pretty happy now, 'e thought! Fishin' around the merchandise. Swippin' some Sting and Barny stuff under d'table. Pullin' out a lil'Leprechaun. "AYE. 'Ave some Lucky to take along with yer!" 'Anding the bobble'ead to the girl along with a golden coin. WEEHEEEHEE. Any more fans? With a glance to d'other mascots, Lucky began 'is Oirish dancin'. 'E could dance d'ese tings under d'table, too. |
SPOILER!!: Ariana, Victoria, Langen, Robert But really, work was on her mind right at the moment, as there were a couple minor issues that needed worked out at the moment and she turned her eyes back to Victoria again. "Yes, one would think that," she said somewhat pointedly. Langen was meant to be supervising the area, yet she seemed to not understand the job description. Did she not realize that they had paid people to ring things up for them? "There appears to be some sort of misunderstanding," she mentioned flatly to her Quidditch Division Manager. "We have enough salesgirls here." And not only was the girl was coming on far too strong for her liking in a couple different ways but she did not at all acknowledge what she had said to her. A big mistake in Mariel's eyes, perhaps she would have been better suited elsewhere. What was she doing? Mariel watched Langen a moment longer, eyebrow raised and clearly unimpressed as she began even more aggressively making her sales pitch. She took a very deep breath, inhaling then exhaling through her nose before stepping closer to her so as to speak to her privately. She was not a fan of public reprimanding and spoke lowly so that she was heard, but only by Langen. "Miss Rathers," she began calmly, trying to remain professional and keep the sharpness out of her voice. "I require you to supervise this area, making sure things are running smoothly and assisting where necessary, such as answering questions, pointing people in the right direction, making suggestions as needed. I do not need you to pressure anyone into making purchases, least of all the players." They were their guests and did not need anyone cramming merchandise down their throats that they likely already owned. Nor did she care to have any of her employees looking for a date with one of the players when they were to remain professional while working. "You are not being employed as a salesgirl here, we have clerks to ring up sales." She gestured to the people contracted through the stadium. "I ask that you oversee this area. If that is too much responsibility, tell me now and I will place you elsewhere." Hopefully she was clear about her duties now because it was essential that everything run smoothly today. That being taken care of, Mariel walked back over to Robert and offered him a small smile. "My apologies," she mentioned rather distractedly, for a few reasons, none that needed mentioning now as it was over and done with in the 29 year old's mind. But at least the man seemed pretty good-natured about everything and had taken it all in stride. Two of everything? "Oh, only if you really want all of that.." she began, looking a bit dubiously. "I certainly don't want you to feel pressured into buying so much. Certainly you probably own much of the Puddlemere United merchandise?" She had to chuckle at the last bit but.. was it because of the aggressive sales pitch? She certainly didn't want the players to feel uncomfortable. But she supposed that was left to him now. She had reminded Langen of her duties here today and not much could be done about what had already transpired. She smiled a bit wider as she heard his question. "Well.. once this event is over, the next thing I have to plan is a wedding." She wiggled the fingers of her left hand a bit. The brunette knew that men likely did not gush over rings the way her girlfriends did, but she did not care. It was far too exciting for her to not show it off. "And though I thoroughly enjoy overseeing the department, I do at times miss my days playing pro." It had been more than a few years now and though she thought she still looked fantastic, she knew she wasn't in quite the exquisite athletic shape she had once been in. It was telling when she went back to New Zealand for a few days last year to train with her old team and ended up injured. "And you.. things are going well?" She did try to keep up with some of the pros who she remembered from school or elsewhere. "How's Elizabeth? Did she come with you today?" It would be nice to say hello to her as well. |
SPOILER!!: Mariel <3 He did flatter her, and he was feeling rather smug about it. Of course hosting the World Cup would mean busy times for his department, which could either be a good thing or a bad thing, but usually also meant overtime hours which meant more galleons in the pocket. Hardly anything to wrinkle your nose at. And really, he could only imagine the headache all that had caused. Merlin knew Emily was displeased with it all as well, but last he had heard there was an investigation going on of some sort. Seemed to be kept well under wraps for the time being. Hopefully it would stay that way as well. But now on to more pleasant conversation. "Oh, I quite fancy that 'Can't Catch Me' shirt," he nodded while reaching over to pick it up. He checked the size on the tag, refolding ones that were too small or too big until he found one that he guesstimated was the proper size. "Why not, let's throw in a toy ball or two!" He would pass on the mascot stuffed toys, by the way. Especially since he was reminded of their presence around him thanks to the one wiggling its bum all around. SPOILER!!: Emily and Vivi :3 Oh, look, speaking of investigation...sort of. "Emily, Genevieve, good to see you both," he greeted casually. "Buying your wares as well I see." Had Genevieve ever spoken with his wife about professional quidditch while she had been at student at Hogwarts? Surely they had sat near each other during matches at least. Did SHE know what team his wife favored? |
this is so bad im sorry >.< Quote:
"As if I'd actually let you be stuck with Sofa all day! You already deal with her at home so why on an exciting day???? Best mates don't do that!" Nope. Especially not with annoying girls who made you dress up in princess costumes because she was bored. N O P E. Nathan nodded and listened to Corb. Lost Aunt Glitter and Sofa at the food place. Uncle Adam's doing some broom thing. And something about an INVISIBLE BROOM?! THEY DEFINITELY NEEDED TO TRY IT. "Let's go then! I'm sure dad and these mascots won't mind us leaving," Cue grin. |
Quote:
Robert listened to Mariel as he poked the little bobble head guy to make him wobble. A wedding? He looked up to see the ring on her finger and ginned, "Congratulations!" He liked weddings contrary to most guys. "Anyone I know?" Probably not but hey it was a small world sometimes. He listened to her speak about her old playing days with an almost nostalgic tone and he smiled softly. He didn't know what he would do if he couldn't play. "At least you got a career now related to it so you can still get your Quidditch fix." Hearing her question about him he grinned. "Oh I'm good. Same old same old. Liz is great and yeah she should be around here somewhere with our daughter. We also have a little 5 year old mini me but he's trapped at her cousins house." He looked thoughtful and down at his wedding ring. "Overall...I guess we're pretty good. You should try to find her I'm sure she'd love to catch up." She didn't get out a whole bunch really what with the kids and all. |
Kate as well, though not quoted Quote:
Buuuuzzz were his WASP ears working extra fine today, or did he just hear A WASP FAN!? Sting buzzed his way over EXTRA happy and danced around the two engaged in conversation. Fun stinger wiggles for you sir! Lot's of wiggles for you! WIGGLES FOR EVERYONE! |
SPOILER!!: Vivi and Aron Add a brother to the mix and it most definitely sounded like something to be avoided like the plague. She didn't have patience for such things, rivalries, people... people were annoying. In that respect she and Genevieve were very much alike, only, the young Auror seemed to have more patience with it than her. "Mmm, I hear you," she concurred, the antisocial part ringing true. Branxton would manage though, it was hardly a life/death concern. "If you could that would be appreciated, I'm going to do the rounds and check on the others..." see if they had anything to report, "if you need anything, holler." Emily had been around ready to go, stuffing the goods into her inner jacket pocket. She wasn't all that keen on being seen with Arrows merch more than she already had been. Of course it seemed as though her departure would have to wait. "Aron, good to see you too," she greeted, small smile in place for her fellow Department Head. "For the boy, of course," she clarified, "and yourself?" |
SPOILER!!: Cam That’s exactly what she wanted to hear, that the players were just as excited as the fans. “Well I’m glad, we really wanted something for all the teams and the fans. I’ve helped with events on a team basis, but this has truly just brought it all together.” It was a career dream come true for the thirty five year old. “It is great to hear that the players are as excited as the fans though, so thank you.” She really did appreciate it. Without the players there would be no event, so they were the ones that should be thanked. “Well it was probably exciting for her to get out with friends at a school setting. We’ve both been at that school, we know what fun we had, even with all the weird things, I try to remind myself that it’s the best school around.” She still believed that deep down, it was just getting harder. “I’m sorry to hear about your mother, though. That has to be difficult.” Her own parents, were still in good health and she was very grateful since they were her daughter’s caregivers through the day. It was interesting to watch, it was like you could actually see the gears in his head turning as she spoke. Oh he knew the sweatshirt, so there were clues. Good Cinnamon wasn’t just hiding everything from him on purpose. One positive about how she felt about her son, he told her pretty much everything, never a secret. She chuckled a bit, “I wasn’t expecting it to be fully honest. I’ve given Bart a very poor start when it comes to examples for good relationships. After the divorce and now my engagement to his sisters father, he was pretty bitter when it came to even the thought of the topic, but he is of that age I guess.” Growing up way to fast in her opinion. She nodded distracted for a moment, “Yes, I guess that is the positive side of things. I’m just very tired of weird things happening. This is only is second term there and he was so old last term I didn’t recognize him, then to get an owl that he had a stroke in class. I know it was just an accident from a reaction to some potion one of the professors was taking or whatever they explained it as, but my son could have died.” She frowned at the thoughts of him at St. Mungos. “Now this no one can get in or out. It’s just wearing on parents. The minister really needs to step in.” She was fully positive he did. Trying to put it out of her mind she nodded, “He really is. I got to see him play at Hogwarts, I was on bed rest for most of the season though with his sisters, so I didn’t get to see much. I really need to make it to a Tornado’s match soon to watch him again.” She smiled in a motherly way thinking about how proud she was of him. “The hard part about growing attached to children when you are in a relationship, but gosh enough of the sob story from me. I shouldn’t keep you from your adoring fans.” She blushed knowing she went on a bit too much. SPOILER!!: Mariel Watching the girl interact with Robert more Victoria just shook her head a bit, “I know I gave them all their job descriptions and went through exactly what they were to do.” Was this something she overlooked, maybe Langen misunderstood her, though she knew her notes and her meetings were all done exactly the way she felt they should be. Watching a bit more she could tell Mariel was irritated by this, and since she was the manager it was her responsibility to take the blame to her teams mistakes. “I can speak with her if needed and move her somewhere else. I’m sorry for this issue to come up.” She really didn’t like this little issue, everything had been going smoothly and she was taking pride in her team. Her team still did an amazing job, but this was school girl behavior not professional. She watched as Mariel took Langen aside, she knew she needed the misunderstanding straightened out and fully supported her boss in doing so. She just felt she had done something somewhere wrong being in the position that she was. |
Quote:
Oh good! He didn't have a problem with her indecisive mind. Kate giggled and was amazed all at the same time. Did Winston really have a collection, like he just said. "Really? Care to tell me about it?" No shame in having your own guilty pleasures. "If anything I have a crazy collection of toy model cars." Totally has nothing to do with Quidditch, but everything to do with guilty pleasures. Kate flashed her trademark bright smile. |
*rearranging a bit* Quote:
Winston beamed, not embarrassed in the slightest about his collection. "I have oodles of posters and flags and even some towels and weird things like that." Yeah. He'd gone a little crazy. "Cars? Would never have pegged you as a car girl." Ah that smile. Winston had to admit she had an amazing smile. Quote:
Winston laughed as he wiggled his behind back at the mascot. Yep. Day well spent. |
Quote:
There were many quirks people didn't know about Kate. One of those quirks was her obsession for these toy modeled cars, an obsession her step-dad started. Kate giggled, "Not many people know that. I really have this enormous collection, it's insane!" She really did. Some ladies have cats, Kate has cars. Kate had a giggle fit, watching Winston shaking his bum at the mascot. It was adorable and funny all at the same time. |
The Quidditch event was the big news and Addison had decided to make a trip to see what was going on. A father and son day out since Fina was still very much caught up at Hogwarts. It was a shame really and the cursebreaker was trying not to dwell on the news, the rare news, they were getting from the school. He absently shook his head to push those thoughts away, bouncing Septimus lightly as he held him in his arms. "Mum sure is missing out, eh?" he mused as the boy's eyes flittered about over all the various items the area had to offer. Addison picked up one of the welcome gift bags and carefully shrunk it so he could place it in the pocket of his bag. If there was one thing he had learned early on in fatherhood was the need to have as few things in his grasp as he could while carrying his son. Less weight for him and less chance of Septimus getting a hold of it when he was looking elsewhere. |
Quote:
Nonetheless she wanted to show support for Mariel's department, because she did like the woman on the few times she ran into her. And she wanted to talk to her brother-in-law. About the situation at Hogwarts. About her sister. "Addison!" Alex exclaimed, catching sight of him, early on after picking up one of the welcome gift bags and slipping it into her tote. She would fill out one of the raffle tickets later. First things first. "And there's my handsome nephew! My how big he's getting!" she cooed at Septimus, holding out her hands towards him. "You look just like your daddy, but there's definitely a Hadley look about you. Must be the eyes." It was always the eyes. |
A lot of marial and a little bit of robert SPOILER!!: boss Well, she had messed that one up again. Running her hand through her chestnut colored hair and crossing her one leg behind the other, she tried to stop herself (rather sucessfully) from becoming tomato red, feeling rather awkward. Sometimes she felt too young an inexperienced for her job. Maybe she should've waited a few years to apply. Too ambitious, she was. And she needed to tink things through. But one mistake did not equal the end of evergthing. That was her mothers rule. The twenty year old still had the rest of the day to do her job well and make up for the mistake earlier. Hopefully. Marial seemed really unhappy about her selling. A fear tingle went through her, though she smiled it off and went about her buisness. The ministry was not a place for fear, it was a place for thinkers and a place for people who knew what to do and when to do it. And that was what Langen would do. "Sorry about the sales pressure. My aunt always said I'd make a better sales clerk than an official." Little white lie, but it sounded good. Well that was strange. Langen never lied before in her life. The tan girl walked over to another part of the stand, refolding something. Anything, really. Overlooking was easy. Way easier than selling. You had to look... over. The job literally named what it did. Bam. Did not take a buisness major or a Ravenclaw. And so began the overseeing, which kept her busy at least. Her caramel colored eyes (the light was hitting them at an angle) looked around at everything and everyone, watching the mascots for a minute before looking at anyone who walked past and then watching the clerks, making sure that everyone was doing things correctly. And not her way of correctly, Marial and the ministries vesion of correct. If anything wasnt, they would tell her, right? Or if the tall girl saw anything, she would help. Because ~that~ was Langen's job. However, being an overseer left a lot of time for minor thoughts that snuck into her head, and one that kept rearing its head was her sister. How dare that woman get a tattoo without her permission? Langen was Cersie's guardian and she was a teenager. And that was apparently the extent of her ambitions. The blonde could do so much more than she let on and ot hurt the oldest Rather's girl to see her sister not living up to them. Not that all tattoo people were inherently bad, but that girl could be part of the ministry or something! It was frustrating to say the least. |
