Was he positive? Charles searched his memory, and distinctly remembered seeing the letters CMEC on her ID. But in what context, he was unsure. He nodded his head and his expression lit up when the lady seemed to have made a guess as to who his mystery woman was.
"My name," he repeated, and for a moment had to think about it, as though he wasn't prepared for that question. "Charles Barlowe. B-A-R-L-O-W-E," he spelled, the Irish name sometimes tripping people up. He had dealt with that his whole life, and always had to spell it out for people. "Regulation of Magical Creatures. Level -- Four." He supplied the information with minimal difficulty, seeming distracted and excited at the same time.
"Thank you kindly," he added with no small amount of gratitude.
Yes, his name.
Rosaline waited patiently, digging through and around Muriel's desk. Every so often, her head would lift and she'd glance around at either end of the lobby before deciding Muriel hadn't returned and she wouldn't get an ear-full for snooping through her desk.
Aha! Parchment!
Tearing off a small scrap piece, Rosa continued on her search for a quill until she located one, and nodded at the man.
"I would have left the E off." The redhead remarked, busy writing something down on the parchment, "Level four? A good friend of mine works with you." Or maybe not with him, but something like that.
Tossing the quill back where she'd found it, Rosaline folded up the note and removed her wand, casting a charm on it. She watched it sprout wings and fly away, before turning her attention back toward the man.
"You're very welcome, Mr. Barlowe."

The lab director rarely got those quick little memos, so when one started circling hr head, she snatched it out of the air with a very curious expression on her face. Charles Barlowe... Level Four. She didn't know a Charles Barlowe. That she could recall. Nevertheless, it was likely important, so Elinor stood from her desk and made her way to the reception area.
"Oh!" Elinor smiled at the spindly man, whom she immediately remembered as the man who had introduced himself after falling to the ground at the Ministry Orientation. "Mr. Barlowe, good to see you again." She reached out to shake his hand.
"Thank you, Ms. McClane," she nodded towards her coworker before turning her attention back to Mr. Barlowe.
"What can I do for you, sir?" Level Four only needed her every once in a blue moon. Usually it was the field people who went along, catching whatever was loose, apprehending owners of illegal animals. Of course, she couldn't remember specifically what it was Charles did for level four, but his intentions were likely to be revealed momentarily.

He nodded his head towards the helpful lady and paced back a few steps, unsure if he should stick around and wait or if he would be contacted later. It didn't matter. He'd wait for days to see that woman's face again. Luckily, it was barely a matter of minutes before he heard footsteps approaching and he quickly looked towards where they sounded from.
And there she was. Charles' face sank into an expression of relief and unmistakable joy. It was good to see him again. He closed the distance between them, eagerly reaching for the offered hand. He clasped it in both of his hands, running his thumb briefly over the back. Her skin was the softest kind of soft. There was nobody like this anywhere else in the world, he knew.
Here she was. He briefly got lost in her smile, his mouth hanging open slightly to speak. Here she was. But he still didn't know her name. He needed a name to go with this wondrous creature who graced him with her presence.
"Do for me?" He repeated, as though the question was misheard. What could she do for him? No, no, no, no. She wouldn't have to do a thing. Except, of course... "Tell me your name. I-I seem to have forgotten it." He kept her hand clasped in his, for as long as she would allow.

He didn't exactly shake her hand, but she supposed it wasn't far of a stretch. Nothing too odd there. But her smile dropped a bit, almost alarmed at his expression. Like something was terribly wrong and she was needed somewhere, in some emergency, to fix it.
"Yes, what is it?" she affirmed, certain something was wrong, or else he wouldn't have been so relieved to see her. But there was nothing very frantic about how he was behaving, so a look of confusion very slowly began forming on her face.
"I'm Elinor Danvers, Mr. Barlowe, head of the forensics lab." But surely he at least knew that, didn't he? How else would he have been instructed to find her without knowing a name? Someone had to direct him, yes? She glanced at her still-held hand and instinctively took a little step forward, picking up on the intensity that he seemed to carry as she waited on an explanation.
Zach stood in front of the table of the reception area waiting to be tended to. He wasn't in a hurry at all. He actually is fiddling through his paperwork, rummaging on reports. He had the habit of bringing some of his job around when he leaves the office, a habit that he gained with all those years in the Research Facility.
He smiled and said, "I am here to see Ms Browne." he said politely.

Simon had just been heading back to the office when he spotted a man waiting at the reception desk. Obviously a worker given the papers within his arms and the auror had the vague idea he should know who he was. He was about to simply pass him on his way into the auror and security area when he heard the other man speak of being there to see Emily.
"Excuse me..." he said walking closer and offering a polite smile of his own. "Is she expecting you?" Simple enough question to ask and wait to be answered and should all be well, Simon would surely help him along. No one was allowed inside unescorted after all, especially not after the trial incident. He was taking his part in security seriously.

Zach looked at the Auror and smiled, "Hello, I am Zacharias McMillan." he said extending his hand to shake the Law Enforcer.
"Ah, yes. I have a meeting with Ms. Browne in the conference room." he said very politely.

Ah yes, the name fit and put the connective piece fit. Junior undersecretary that had been for a few years hence why Simon had registered him in the first place. One of those people advisable to be aware of. "Hello..." he returned, accepting the offered hand in a shake. "Simon Bennett." Hearing of the plans, the auror nodded in acceptance.
"Then you go right this way..." he said, heading back to the door he had been going to anyway and holding it open for the other man to follow. The path was through booking and interrogation and on to his work office which had the quickest access to the conference room...from this entrance to the department anyway.

Zach had given the guy a polite smile, Simon Bennett he registered. He must thank him later for his help. Polite gentleman, but he sense some suspicion on the guy. Maybe he thought I was a threat. Well, that would depend on the context. Zach chuckled inside. Not the evil scheming one, but the one that says 'this-will-be-fun".
"Thank you" he said as he followed the guy through the Department to possibly where ms Browne was.
Robert walked into the Reception and waiting room, and sat down. Now all he had to do was wait for an MLE to come along. So in the meantime he sat down with a slightly bored expression on his face, though his mind was whirling with the questions he needed to ask.

Sky walked into the waiting area. Good day to do something. Seeing someone sitting she decided to go check it out. Walking up to the person she gave a small smile and asked "Hi, can I help you?" Hopefully he was waiting for someone to come help him and he wasn't just sitting.
Wait, what was that falling from the ceiling? Did someone overflow a toilet upstairs?
Nope, it's just your typical FREEZING RAIN. Apparently, it's been doing it for quite awhile, as there are frozen puddles of the stuff here, there and everywhere! Not to mention that it seems extremely cold for August.

There were many things she had come to expect at the Ministry, things going wrong was at the top of her list. However, Emily hadn't in her wildest dreams thought she'd see the day when she would need to wear ice skates to work... apparently this was a reality now?
After a trip to the loo, a coffee and a meeting, Emily returned to level two, only it wasn't quiet the entrance she had had in mind.
"Muur--..!!"iel, she'd been about to say, suddenly jerking her head up from the folder she'd had her nose buried in to find herself sliiiiiiding forward on what appeared to be ice. Her free arm flailed a little while the other clung to the file for dear life. Slipping and dipping, Emily fell to the ground, managing to extend an arm to break her fall, preventing her from hitting her head.
"WHAT NOW?!?!" she exclaimed, casually laying on a wet, icy floor, folder still in hand. It was a good look for her, no?
Why was it raining?! -- on her level. And why was it soooo cold! -- on her level? HUHH?

Emma had a great day so far, she had dropped both her little ones off at the day care, met two new friends, one being her friend's husband. Funny how that happened. Nothing had gone wrong, though if she had known that she would have fallen on her face on the way to work, she would have been more careful entering the reception area.
Emma opened the door and saw Sky, "Skkk....y, she was going to say when she found herself sliding on the floor. Her arms flying around as she tried to balance herself. Still sliding she slid right into Sky, making the both of them fall on the floor. Emma looked over as she saw Emily on the ground too, "Why is the floor ice!??" And how dare it made her fall!!

Sky looked up as she heard the boss woman yell What Now... She turned to look at her, "Emily, are you ok..."y, before she could finish she was hit by Emma who had started to say her name collided with her.
She slipped and slid trying to balance herself with only one hand to due the other hand being filled with the file she had carried in. Luckily the guy that she was talking to was sitting so he didn't have to worry slipping and falling. about before finally she too fell onto the floor luckily she caught her self with the hand that wasn't holding one of the files. Ouch!
Looking up she exclaimed "Where the heck did all this ice cme from?!" Goodness. It appeared out of no where, unless it had been there for a while and you know it just got worse and then pow everybody fell.

With a small huff, Emily lifted herself up off the floor, only to fall backward in a puddle off slush. Her wrist a bit sore from the impact, but nothing was broken, she was tougher than that.
In a matter of seconds, others too fell victim to the icy conditions. First Emma, and next Sky... well this was a mess. "I'm fine ... you two?" she returned Sky's question, before glancing to Emma for the same.
"If I was to hazard a guess... I'd say environmental protection have a lot of work to do..." because this madness could not continue, it was impractical and about as fun as a stinging hex to the butt, which she would be giving someone should they not be able to sort this out in a timely manner. "Climate controls seem to be failing throughout the Ministry," and she knew this because she was rained on in the food court, and had witnessed the same in the Minister's office... not to mention the desert-like conditions on level three.
Gathering herself, Emily produced her wand and melted away the ice in her vicinity, it wouldn't last, but it would just long enough for her to get to her feet without the treat of falling.

One minute she was walking into level two to check out the charms, the next she was slip-sliding away on a floor covered in ice and being hit with a freezing liquid. She managed to stay upright for a few seconds, then it was butt-meet-floor for the Enviro. Head. "Welp, that answers my question," Roxanne spoke up from her position on the ice. And Emily really didn't need to go to her itchy wand hand, because they were working on it. It was practically impossible to keep up, though, when you only have two people on the job and the thing you're working on requires years of experience, so it's not like you can train your other employees for it.
Anyway, it didn't feel like anything was broken, so that was good. Just her rear and tailbone hurt a bit, but nothing a few minutes wouldn't cure. "How long has it been doing this?" she asked, also using her wand to melt the ice around her so she could get up.

The freezing rain just kept falling as two of the witches picked themselves up. And just as soon as the lone brunette (Emily) managed to get to her feet, the patch of floor she'd de-iced for herself refroze. Same for the Enviro. witch (Roxanne) using the same tactic.

Sky still holding onto the file tried lifting herself off the ground with no anvil. A simple slip of the foot and she was back on the ground. Yay... Her wrist was fine now just the tinge of pain before.
"Fine too." She looked over at Emma who had not answered yet.
Yeah and hopefully they would get here fast. Because this was crazy, ice on the floor didn't they know they had work to do, cant do that when we are falling on our faces!
"What is going on around this place..." she asked more like a statement then an actual question because really who could answer it.
Oh look Roxanne came to join the party. Emily had gotten up good... Eh not so good looked like the floor had already re-frozen.
Hearing Roxanne she turned to face, "I believe for quite a while. We all just got here so I don't believe it happened instantly."

Benjy was headed out of the office to go get a bite of lunch when he came across the ice. Since he had been walking briskly, he completely lost his footing once he hit an ice patch and fell to the floor with a thud. Looking around from his position on the floor, the redhead noticed several others slipping or having already fallen.
"Well hello..." The hit wizard said with a little chuckle. "Is it like this everywhere? Do we know?" Benjy asked those around, which included his wife, who got a small smile.

Emma looked up at the both of them, "All good, just a little fall." Little? She had ran into Sky made her fall and then had fallen herself.. She should have just fell onto Sky like a normal person instead she decided to keep on trying to live and then fall.
Who was that woman (Roxanne)?? "Wherever those Environmental people are they need to come up here stat then, these are not good working conditions?" obviously Emma had no clue who the woman was that just entered.
Hey look Emily had gotten up. Yay now she could just do what she did and act like she did it too... The other woman did it too. But that didn't look like a good idea now seeing as the ice had already frozen back... Soon they would be right back on the ground.
"Um I would give a guess for a while now." Due to the state of the ground.
She tried to get up maybe she could do it. But that just ended up with Emma falling on her but. "Well hello to you too Benjamin."

Good. Everyone was fine. Fine. Good. But her level was not fine, it was not conducive of work and this was something Emily was not at all pleased about. As for it being here a while? It couldn't have been that long, considering she didn't have a problem with it in the morning, and she so much as said so. "It couldn't have been too long, it was fine this morning when I came through," she said acknowledging her staff as well as Roxanne - she got a nod. The woman had her work cut out for her, that's for sure. At least her swift service was appreciated, there was nothing worse than waiting for people to arrive.
Emma's comment about Enviro got a smirk out of her, seeing as Roxanne was present. "I'm sure Ms. Carter here will take care of it," wouldn't she?
It occurred to her to summon some of those nifty slip hazard signs, but go figure she wasn't going to be quick enough - she was busy enough looking grumpy. Benjamin - always so cheerful too, how? - fell in much the same manner as the rest of them. "Welcome to the party," she said dryly as the ice reformed beneath her feet and she slipped a bit. Wrong shoes for ice skating, clearly. "It's not just us," she replied answered his question, though the icy touch was the first she'd witnessed. And speaking of, "Roxanne, have your people been able to fix the issues on the other levels?" because she hoped this wouldn't turn into another memo fiasco, this needed to be resolved. Or someone was going to get hurt.
Arms out, Emily used them to balance herself before sliiiiiding a little way to Muriel's desk. Speaking of, where was the woman? She needed to cancel her three o'clock.

Vic sliiiiiiiiiid all the way to the reception hall, not necessarily with gracefulness but definitely stayed on his feet, flailing his arms to contain his balance from now and then. The moment he came to view, he noticed a couple of people already there! Oh good.
"I sent a Patronus to the environment department!" He announced, clutching the back of a chair to keep his balance. Staying on two feet instead of falling on his bum would be too embarrassing considering the group of females. Ahem. Thinking about the important things, yes, yes.

Emily rather liked her spot, clinging to the reception bench, and it was an excellent vantage point for what she saw next - Vic sliding into view. He pulled it off well. His announcement though, resulted in raised brows. Roxanne was already here... or had he summoned her? Either way, "Good stuff," she noted with a nod, still clutching because she didn't fancy falling on her bottom in front of her people again. That being said, how come the ice hadn't taken him by surprise? "Tell me it's not raining in there too?" she asked, a finger pointing in the direction of the offices where he had just come from. Please, Circe, NO!
And then as luck would have it, another person slid into view! That chick from the food court... who'd have thought it huh? "You're standing in it," she added, trying her best not to sound sarcastic - she probably failed at that one. Could you blame her?
Now, there were two of them, so they could FIX this, yes? Stop her level being flooded and cold and dreary and interfering in their work!
Speaking of work things, "My lot, I have a mission for you," she started, still not impressed with these happenings. "Waterproof EVERYTHING," everything. She meant it. EVERYTHING. "Everything necessary." They were of course capable of telling the difference, no? "And restore anything that requires it."
Merlin.
