But it's possible," Skander responded, feeling much more open to talking about where and from whom he got the cookies. That was a nice safe topic after all.
That and now that his DNA was collected he supposed that there was no real point in being so cagey. He might have even be more willing to talk if they weren't in a public place where everyone could hear what was going on.
"Well, the department head, he was eating the cookies too. He actually ate a lot of them, and I think he was taking the extra ones back up to share with his employees," because that was important right? Other people could be having the same symptoms if that was really the case. And the MLE would need to know about that when it came to their investigation.
Skander went to walk away in order to get back to work before pausing and looking back at Wes. "I...you don't think this is a normal sickness do you? You think I've got the same symptoms as the others?" Skander asked, in an even tone. They didn't need to know that he was slightly freaked out at the moment. Maybe he should be just a little more honest in his answering of the questions. What did he really have to lose? Making his decision Skander took a calming breath before looking Wes dead in the eye and beginning to speak.
"At first my vision went really blurry, but it got better after a few days, then there's the excessive drooling," as if to prove his point he had to get out his handkerchief to wipe at his mouth. "There was of course vomiting, which is why I'd assumed food poisoning was a possibility, but that's lingered on slightly. The walking into walls you've already seen, as well as the bloodshot eyes. I'm not sure if it's my imagination but my teeth seem to be sharper," he opened his mouth slightly wider so as to let his boss see,"And the weakness kind of extends to all magic, not just apparition," he mumbled the last bit as he didn't really want anyone else to hear him. Bad enough that he felt guilted into being completely honest with his boss.
"I don't think this is a normal sickness, no," Wes answered quietly, all the more aware that they were somewhat discussing this in public now. Perhaps he would have been better off calling Skander to his office later, with Aron already in the room... alas, hindsight was 20/20...
His notepad was back in his hand almost the instant the liaison decided to be more honest with listing his symptoms. Wes kept his gaze focused on the paper as his pen flew across the pad, only nodding to show that he was jotting down everything Skander was saying. What a list that was, what a list... but at least it corroborated with everything the other 'sick' ones had been saying.
He looked up at mention of the sharpened teeth, a deep frown already etched into his features. "That's not good, Beckett," he commented in a growl. "But we will get to the bottom of this. In the meantime, if you're feeling well enough, there's nothing else to do but to carry on with life as usual." IE, back to work, kid, sorry.

"I see," he nodded, jotting down a few notes on his notepad before he set to rearranging his things for his departure. "Thanks for the drool, mate." And Aron gave the man a nice firm pat on the back.
As for the rest, Aron nodded and listened. Head Cabbage could answer and deal with all that. He had his drool and needed to go poke at it.
Nodding, Aron turned to go back to Accidents & Catastrophes but paused for a moment to lower his voice so that only Wes could hear him. "I'll know once I get the lab results in if he is the same as the others....but it might be a good idea to administer the entire department, maybe even Ministry, to have to give DNA samples. It would be a lot of work studying them all...but there is no telling how far this has spread." Just something to think over. For all they knew now this infection or whatever it was had become airborne and they were all infected.
"The entire Ministry?" Wes pivoted toward Aron to respond in the same just-for-his-ears tone. "I'll think about it." He'd even bring it up to the Minister, when he went to ask about shutting down the cafeteria. "Thanks again for your help, mate." Wes slapped his on the back and then started off toward the conference room, halting again only when he spotted a rude CHILD---- for that's what this man-boy was, really---- screaming about needing to see someone.

Erick rolled his eyes, not really seeming to have any respect for the MLE agent standing before him. Really, a wand?? That was how MLE's responded to loud voices? Ha.
"I heard that you captured the Time thief. My friend from Hogwarts, Taylor, wanted to know what date the trial would be held at."

Wow, really? This kid comes all the way to the Ministry to ask about a trial date? Wes blinked once at the kid and then turned away, dismissing him with a snort.
"That's not public information at this time." Good bye.

Taking Aubrie's hand, Jade shook it. "It's okay. I'm Jade Gemstone- I'm the Reminisciator assigned to the 'Confunded Wizard in Muggle London' case. The one who is busy casting spells around the muggles."
Hoping that Aubrie would know more details, Jade repeated her question, "What can you tell me about the case? I've only got the basics--that he is confunded and there are muggles involved."
"Nice to meet you Jade," Aubrie said with a smile as she shook the woman's hand and listened to the problem. Aubrie had heard of the case that the woman was talking about and tried to think back to some of those papers that were sitting on her desk. It was a few basics, a little more than Jade's knowledge, but she wasn't sure how much it would help.
"I only know a little bit more than you do. I haven't gotten a full report, but I know that the person, who I believe is a male that I have forgotten their name, is currently confunded and that is causing him to cast spells around Muggle London," Aubrie tried to remember all the specifics in that folder on her desk. "Many of these spells are either harmful to the Muggles or done in the sight of Muggles. I believe that four Muggles have been hit with the spells tarantallegra, rictumsempra twice, and the jelly legs jinx. There have also been number of things like fires and stuff that have happened because of the confunded wizard. I believe that is all the knowledge that I have. But if you have any other questions or anything I'd be happy to help."

Jade nodded, "Alright. As anything been done to try and stop him? Plus do you have the names of the muggles in question?" She asked. "I need to do a check up on them."
It was possible that this case could have been already dealt with which Jade would really hate if that were the case. She didn't like being given a case that someone else had already dealt with. It just wasted her time.

The coffee in the Ministry Law Enforcement level was known to be bad - putrid even. But nothing could make it worse - well almost nothing than a drooler drooling into and onto it. And that was what happened as Kyleigh made her way through the waiting room. The lined-up empty white porcelain mugs were covered in the liquid mess of her running saliva. And those cups that had the unfortunate luck to have their mouths facing upwards soon filled each one to a different level with the same vile concoction of leaking body fluid.
A groan later and a coffee pot - was knocked to the ground. The glass pot not breaking as it landed opening side up only to get an extra dose of drool into it. Really - this was the only time anyone on this side of the ministry would drool for coffee...well, this coffee that is.
Another painful groan later as the bumbling girl in question rubbed her now slightly burned arm made her way further through the waiting area toward the bathroom. "MNuuuuuUUUUuuuGggggHHgnnnhaaaaah" She groaned again the gutter sound reverberating into the offices.

Caedwyn exited the division office and waited in the waiting room for Saul to join her. She was shocked by the appearance of the young woman bumbling into furniture and drooling all over the place, just as she was shocked at the state of the coffee machine and at the cups... no. It was too disgusting to think about.
"We need to do something," she murmured to the man as he joined her, gesturing to the poor woman who was obviously in distress and out of her own mind. "Perhaps we can incapacitate her."

Lights ran into the room, following the loud groan she'd heard from the desks. She watched in horror as the woman - she was familiar, Lights had seen her around the Ministry somewhere, maybe with that YATI guy? - make a mess of the coffee area. That wasn't too much of a loss, that coffee really was terrible, but she'd managed to hurt herself in the process which wouldn't help her.
The other woman (the one in her right mind, the one with the Welsh-type name) was talking about incapacitating her, but the zombie girl was moving towards the bathrooms.
"I think we should try to talk to her," suggested Lights, joining the conversation. "She isn't hurting anyone but herself yet, maybe she'll come to herself if we gently remind her."
Lights would have said more but the zombie was on the move! "Let's follow her, see what she does next. She might be looking for something." She was already moving after the girl towards the bathrooms.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
He came to the waiting room right behind Cade, peering over her shoulder at the clearly to sick to go to work girl fumbling towards the women's bathroom. "So that's...she's one of the zombies?" Saul asked Cade moving more to her side now.
There was another lady in the waiting room, and she and Cade both were planning out how to deal with this zombie. Get her to talk, make her stop. Were they aware that this coffee ruining Zombie girl, which by the way Saul had yet to make himself a cup of, was headed away from them.
Unholstering his wand he pointed it towards the bathroom door, but before he could lock it and keep her from getting away she entered the bathroom. He let off a sigh of disappointment, and shrugged his shoulders. "She's in No Mans Land." He said half joking. he holstered his wand and stuffed his hand in his pockets and looked at Cade. "We need to keep her in there." Saul said, "We shouldn't let her go any farther."

Just how much of the vile stuff was left? She'd wonder before going about and drooling yet again. "Baaa-baaaaaaathroooooom" she ended up reading aloud the sign to the bathroom now covered in the same vile fluids as they sprayed from her lips.
If she were herself and not this drool-monster right now she'd have cleaned it. A small part of her that still remained tried to clean the muck off of the wall. "Spurgthithy" nothing. She swallowed, coughed, and tired again. "Scourgify" she pointed. Nothing - well not nothing. The wrong thing happened all together instead of her mouthy ecto-gunc disappearing into a wasteland of lost ghostly ectoplasm and disgusting dirty thingies more seemed to erupt and it began to ooze down the door with more vigilance than before.

"It looks like they've got this under control," Cade lowered her wand and left the poor young woman to the care of her coworkers. She'd make a point of checking in on things when they returned from their meeting on Level 3, but for now... they were expected.
"Saul, I'm sorry to hurry us onward, and if you'd like to stay, I understand, but we really ought to move on to the lifts. Shall we?"

Benjy made sure all of his things were organized before heading out to the reception area of the level. He needed to get a list of who was infected and where to find said people but he also needed someone to work with, just to make things easier. So the redhead was standing off to the side in the area, waiting for Dacs or anyone else who was going to help round up the infected persons.

Kyleigh turned and stepped out of the bathroom - the girl who was there had just been staring at her acting as if she were scary. She wasn't scary pfft, she was just a normal girl right? Just a little drippy in the face right? Nothing odd.
She smiled the drool no longer dripping down her chin. Glancing down at the waiting room she spotted the receptionist's desk and began to trudge over. Her hand slipping out toward the Caedwyn Howard's wand. It wasn't fully holstered yet. And she felt like she wanted to grab it and - she cleared her mind and made a frustrated sound as she reached to swipe her wand. Her other hand lifted up to grab Saul's wand as well. Her body seemed to be working against her.

Having stopped by the bathroom to relieve herself and charm her clothes to something more appropriate for chasing zombies, Roxanne stepped into the waiting area. And instantly spotted a problem. It seemed that other departments (or the rest of the MLE, for that matter) either hadn't seen the notices that had been put up or were just not interested in zombie hunting. Problem was, how were two people supposed to round up four at least infected people? That type of thinking was just madness!
She approached the man wanting there, whom if she remembered from the last department only orientation meeting correctly was named Benjy. "We'll give it another hour or so, okay?" she said, pulling her lanyarded badge around so that it could be seen clearly. Hopefully more people would show up......

After the meeting had finished, Jade quickly went back to A&C and gathered the stuff that she would need before heading to the MLE,
As she entered the reception area, she could see a witch and a wizard waiting around. It seemed very early and not everyone had arrived yet.
She walked up to them and introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Jade Gemstone-- the Reminiciator assigned to the case. Is it still early? I thought that I was late to be honest."

So people had gotten the memo? That was good, because two people verses however many zombies there were? Yeah, that didn't sound like very good odds. "Hello, Roxanne Carter, the prosecutor assigned to the case," she replied with a slight smile. As for why a prosecutor was on the case? Well, there weren't that many people left in the department, so it was all hands on deck. Then again, that had been true even when there were enough people in the department. She guessed it could also be looked at as a punishment for the whole bookshop incident, but whatever.
"You're not early or late. People just haven't been showing up. I guess the thought of being drooled on by a zombie doesn't appeal to very many people." The last part she had meant as a joke, but when you really looked at it, it was true.

"Hello, Roxanne. Nice to meet you." At Roxanne's statement about not being early or late, Jade frowned. She thought that people would have gotten the memo by now. But she hadn't seen anyone of her colleges besides her boss, Althea and Derek. But they had been at the meeting with her and they knew about the quarantine.
"Oh, I came straight here from the meeting in courtroom seven. I only stopped on my level to get some things I needed. But I suppose that you are right about people not wanting to be drooled on. I'm sure that a few more will come."

Meeting? What meeting? Roxanne hadn't heard of any meeting happening down in the courtrooms, which was odd seeing as that was usually her territory. But, she guessed it was about the current situation going on with the zombies infected people, so she let it slide. Besides, there were more important things to focus on right now. Rounding up said infected people. Which was going to be harder with just them. Right. "Yeah. We'll give them just a few more minutes. Meanwhile, I'm going to see if we can get a full list of the infected, just we know who we're looking for." And with that, she sent her patronus off to Aron to ask for a copy of his list.

The woman seemed pleasant and innocent enough. So, she would just have to play this one very carefully. "Hello, come to help out?" she asked pleasantly enough, purposely leaving the question kind of vague and definitely not giving her name. Nope, this woman would have to give her name and business first.

Between here and there Aron had realized that his master list was in the lab on level THREE, so he had had to go there first and then back down here to level TWO to hand it over to Roxanne. Merlin there was just no end to this. COULD he get special permissions to apparate within the Ministry? Yes, please?
Spotting Roxanne, he made his way over to her with a copy of his list. "You rang?" he grinned as he handed it over to her. "Pain was just added now. Apparently thought that getting herself a smoothie from the cafeteria while we were investigating it was a good idea...so I swabbed her. No symptoms yet." "Thank you! Finally, something going right today," Roxanne replied, taking the list and barely resisting throwing her arms around him and giving him a hug. Really she was that grateful that something was going right in amongst getting reamed out royally and having what it seemed was going to be a small team for the task of rounding up zombies. Speaking of which, the next thing Aron said at least gave them a starting point. "Right on it! You know, you should hit Wes up for a raise after this is over. You deserve it." As did everyone else who was actually doing what were supposed to be. Really, just because you were afraid of a little drool didn't mean you got to desert your Ministry, nope.
Turning back to her two person small team, she took a deep breath. "Okay, guys. It seems the time for waiting is over. We have ourselves a lead on where our first zombie is, we need to get moving. Keep your eyes open for anyone drool, vomiting, walking into walls or just otherwise acting strange. And here we go!" She then lead the way out of level two and down to the Hangout area, slightly afraid of what they would find.

Yep. Roxanne was officially not on his honking daffodil list. Not that she really had been, but now she had secured herself a spot off it for a good long while. "I'll come along for the ride," he said, tapping his bag. Sample taking and all. If there was a Drooler, well, then he was going to have to be there to take a drool sample.
So, off it was towards the loud and ominous noises. Just like what all stupid people do in those Muggle horror movies!

Jade could not say that she didn't perk up when Aron rushed in. He chatted with Roxanne and gave her the list.
She definitely noticed that Roxanne could barely resist giving him a hug. Internally, Jade was fuming. *That is MY man!* The fact that she and Aron had just met a few days ago was really a moot point. but she did try to be rational about it. *It is okay-- they are just co-workers.* What was up with her and her bizarre thoughts regarding Aron? *I have to get a grip!* She silently ranted at herself.
Meanwhile, Roxanne announced that they were headed to the Hangout to round up the infected there.
Jade smiled at her a little coldly then she should have and said, "I'm ready." and followed her out of the MLE.

"I wasn’t so good at Care of Magical Creatures in school to be honest. I liked the creatures but when it came to the practical bits like on the big exams I got very, very nervous so I actually ended up failing both those exams." Tasha explained. Bad newt and owl memories whizzed past in her head which caused her to roll her shoulders to make them go away.
Her fingers trailed themselves back to play with the feather as she responded with a grin. "Yes we've gotten past it but Isobel now despises howlers." Tasha figured she would have too if she had been on the receiving end of howlers on more than one occasion. "So any other beverage favourites except mulled mead?" she asked. It was interesting to know if she for example wanted to invite Dorian over for dinner at her flat or vice versa.
Has he broached the topic of her mother Tasha felt herself want to clam up and not say anything. Their mother-daughter relationship wasn’t exactly perfect regardless if her mother supplied her fridge with food it was really just a reason for her mother to pop in when she least expected it to pay her a visit, a visit with a purpose. Dorian didn’t know about that though. Tasha chose her words with care all though her tone of voice had turned neutral borderline sad. "Yes, very nice of......my... mother---"
With Wesley’s voice still echoing in her head Tasha listened to what Dorian knew and had seen of her sister outside Wesley’s office. The situation was grave. There was no doubt about it. Before she had really thought it through Tasha responded "I want to go talk to Wesley and get the latest news on Izzy’s symptoms. I don't even know who is babysitting the twins at the moment." But as she trailed off she knew it was what she wanted.
As she stood up from her seat she put the feather in her purse with slightly trembling fingers. Looking over at Dorian she agreed to his suggestion with a heavy heart and mind. "I'd like a reign check on our date because I really like getting to know you. You are an interesting man but unfortunately I won’t be of much company after hearing that my sister is ill." Understandably.
"Will you come with me to see Wesley?" Tasha asked hoping for a yes. If it was just her she’d probably get herself even more worked up and upset before she even got back to the ministry. But if Dorian came along he could keep her from jumping to conclusions.
If he hadn’t known that the topic of Care of Magical Creatures aptitudes had likely come from the subject of Lorelai and his gift of one of the phoenix’s feathers, Dorian would have started to be concerned that it would turn into yet another of his and Natasha’s random topics of conversation hat stretched out until they finally decided to end it, as had happened with the stationery discussion. of course, this was still a light topic, as he imagined neither of them thought it particularly important how they had done in any specific subject t back in school. “You still manage to care for Rufus and Pandora well, don’t you? That should say that you aren’t completely hopeless, I would assume,” he tried to reassure her, noticing the little shoulder roll that told him she in fact was feeling quite awkward about the topic. He didn’t want her to be tense the whole dinner, even if it had taken him some time to come to the conclusion he hadn’t needed to be as nervous about it himself.
At least the topic of her sister and getting into trouble years ago hadn’t seemed to make things any worse, and a wry smile crept onto his face as she had revealed Isobel despised Howlers. “I’d imagine you would be hard pressed to find anyone who didn’t prefer avoiding Howlers at any cost,” he replied, the slightest bit of amusement in his voice. He knew he never looked forward to receiving the messages, although he hadn’t gotten too many over the course of the years. Instead, he had gotten an entirely different form of bad messages, but he wasn’t about to mar their date by dwelling on Gabriel and everything that had ironically led him here now. At least, Gwendolyn’s death at Gabriel’s hands had led him to apply to the Ministry, if not to this exact moment in time. It seemed the topic of family had brought them back to the point of awkwardness again, however, and he had to quickly try to backpedal before he ended up letting his thoughts take over and ruin things again. Although he merely shrugged at her words. Right now he couldn’t quite think of what to say, since it appeared her relationship with her mother wasn’t what it may seem. Perhaps I should apologize, he thought.
Any thoughts about apologizing, or even escaping long enough to order food and hopefully return to less tense subjects, vanished as they’d been interrupted by Wes’ Patronus, and instead he just wished there was something he could do to ease her worries as she listened to his description of what he’d observed with her sister. Especially as that was some time ago now, and he nodded as she’d decided she would rather go speak to Wes directly. That might be the best idea, as at least then she could get more details than he could convey. Seeing as he knew more about the food court lockdown than he did about the actual illness, and he stood as she had gotten to her feet. “Of course,” he had said at her final request, letting the rest wait for now as he offered his arm to escort her back to the Ministry and straight up to Level Two. If they were going to find Wes anywhere, it likely would be there, especially if Isobel was in quarantine.
Leading her over to one of the chairs in the reception area, he let her arm go long enough to withdraw his wand and send his own Patronus off to find Wes and let them know that she wanted to speak with him. After watching the silver lion bound off, he returned his attention to Natasha. “Who usually watches the twins while Wes and Isobel are working?,” he asked calmly, returning ot one of the frantic comment s she had made before they’d left the Leaky. Perhaps they could get back to a slightly less frantic mode if he could get her thinking straight while they waited for Wes to either arrive or send word where to find him. He knew things were going to be alright. They had plenty of good people working to figure out what was happening and how to cure it, so there was no need to think the worst. Even if it was beginning to bring back memories again, he needed to stay calm so Natasha stayed calm, and to support Wes as well.

Patronus from Dorian. Wes was here. The very busy MLE head jogged into the waiting room, his wand still out from the quarantine area, and came to a stop right beside Natasha's chair. He exhaled briefly and then nodded to both Dorian and... Natasha? Was this a thing now? Izzy would be most interested in knowing THAT.
Heh. But no; the patronus. "Yes?" he said simply, looking Dorian in the eye.
