Eliza clamped her hand on her ears as soon as she finished talking. Loud alarm cranking in volume. Her ears were ringing. What was wrong with this place? Holy hippogriffs...and a wand pointed at her....obsessed with security much?
Thankfully, the Head realized there was no need to trumpet off her arrival like that and got rid of that horrible noise. But it looks as though she wasn't going to be able to get down to business as easily as she thought. The woman was now asking for her badge. Fine, fine, fine. Eliza suppressed an eyeroll and nodded, approached the woman and handed out her badge. Of course it would have the Magical Transportation Department's emblem along with her identification as an Apparition Examiner. "Maa'm, I just need to borrow your fireplace and test something out." All cool?

That'll learn ya! Because just bursting into someone's office like that wasn't cool. Even Roxanne knocked and waited to be invited in. So, yeah, the woman now covering her ears wasn't getting any sympathy from her.
She grabbed the badge then and looked it over. "This says you're from the Apparition offices, not the Floo offices." So, why the hell was she asking to check her nonexistant fireplace? The Transportation Department's well known incompetence was shinning bright right now. But before she could continue this thought and point out the other woman's mistake, a memo floated in and landed on her desk. She gave the memo a quick read over before laying back on her desk. Alright, time for little-miss-barge-right-in to go. "If you'd bothered to do your research before coming up here, you'd realize that I don't even have a fireplace in here, much less one connected to the floo." She tossed the woman's badge back at her. "Now, please remove yourself from my office. I have stuff to do." Namely permits to check.

So the Head didn't actually have a fireplace? And so, what was the woman's intentions for keeping her here? Hadn't she realized that Eliza was in a rush here? Okay...she was going to take back what she thought earlier....this woman was NOTHING like The Schultz. But because they were professionals here, Eliza kept her cool.
"Exactly why I didn't know you do not have a fireplace in your office, maa'm. I am not from the Floo sector, but as there is an emergency....I presented myself to help." She made sure there was emphasis on her every word. Eliza Tohsaka was not fond of this security-obsessed woman.
"I could've have researched but I didn't because time is running." And yeah, she shouldn't be dealing with this right now. She was in a hurry. If the Head was upset with her, then that was her problem, not Eliza's. Oh, no...she was thick and she wasn't scared of any Department head. She quickly pocketed her badge and smirked at the woman. "Pardon the disturbance, maa'm."
And she was out of that place.
Geez. Now she needed to find another Head's office to barge in to.

The woman's attitude was really grating on Roxanne's nerves, to say the least. Barge right into her office, then cop an attitude. Yep, that was a good way to conduct business. And she really didn't see the malfunctioning floo as an emergency. There were other ways of getting around, for the arrogant and patience-trying Transportion employee's information. Ones that didn't involve getting soot on one's clothes and vomiting once you got to point B. "Good riddance," she said as the irritating woman left.
Schultz would be receiving a memo about this one.

Penwyn followed her boss into her office, one hand splayed casually on her waist. She was sure she knew why Carter was calling her in - it was because she had arrived late.
Once she got inside she leaned against the wall and smiled. "Let me guess. You don't like the tank top".

Roxanne fixed her employee with an unamused look. She knew the other woman knew exactly why she'd called her in here. And it wasn't her clothing. "So, you think you can just get out of this with sarcasm?" Good luck with that one. "I expect better of my supervisors than tardiness, sweatiness, attitude and not joining in when asked. If this continues, you will be demoted, have I made myself clear?" Hopefully she had, because she hadn't been hired to babysit.
OOC: Sorry, but I'm trying to keep this short because we're MUCH farther along in the plot than this already You can check the 'DERP Bulliten Board' to see what your charrie is supposed to be doing right now. Uh, private? That couldn't be good. Since.... well, anyway, it just couldn't be good. "Um, sure, just come with me to my office." Was this going to be one of those things where she regretted eating right before hand? Because she was sure that no one wanted to see partially digested cinnamon roll on the floor.....[/SIZE]
Following Roxanne to her office Natasha weighed her options. Not knowing how the other woman would react, it was hard to know if she should just blurt everything out or let the news drop out more gently. Twinning a blond lock slightly nervous around her fingers she followed the environment head into a room which more felt like the living room of a house than a department head’s office.
Walking over to the large picture windows Natasha looked out at the London skyline where the sun was shining out over a wintery landscape. Turning her back to the windows she turned to Roxanne. "I like your office. It feels personal and feminine."

Roxanne closed the door after Natasha entered, making sure all the spells had fallen back into place. Could never be too careful around here.

Roxanne closed the door after Natasha entered, making sure all the spells had fallen back into place. Could never be too careful around here.
She wasn't quite in the mood for small talk, especially not with the person currently trying the tactic with her. She just wanted to heard what the woman had to say and get her out of her office so that she could attend to her employees. "What do you want?" she asked with an even tone.
Tasha didn’t sit down since well Roxanne hadn’t offered her to. Which sort of summed up their relationship if you could even call it that. The red head saw her as an enemy and she feared that there would always be bad blood between them. Swallowing she decided to cut straight to the chase of why she was there since Roxanne seemed to want her to leave.
Meeting the other woman’s gaze she said calm and clear. "I'm here to tell you something which I think you deserve to know before it leaks out around the ministry and you here it from somebody else. Dorian and I are engaged to be married. I'm not sharing this to hurt you or for you to dislike me more than you already do. I'm telling you this woman to woman because well I know you've been interested in Dorian too." She finished off.

Ronnie made her way quickly over to Miss Carter's office, glancing at her watch and sighing with relief. She wasn't too late, thankfully. Glancing back up at the door she hesitated before opening it. She wasn't sure if Roxanne was meeting with someone currently, and she didn't want to be rude, so she decided to just give a light knock on the door and wait. She really wanted to make a good impression here. Clearing her throat randomly, she fixed her hair and made sure her shirt looked nice before giving three knocks on the door. She wasn't as nervous as she expected herself to be. Ronnie was actually excited to get to know Roxanne better, she seemed like a nice person.

Well. Well. So, that had been unexpected. It was a good thing that she hadn't taken that sip of coffee. Because it would've ended up all over the place. As it was, Roxanne's mouth was moving but no words were coming out. After all, it was kind of hard to talk when you were feeling like you've just been sucker punched in the gut.
Finally, she found words again when she heard a knock on her door. "Just a sec!"
And now to the problem she was currently dealing with...... "Really?" Because she was still reeling from the bombshell the other woman had just dropped. "And you really think you can keep him happy? You don't think he's eventually going to want some smarter, more interesting......." she paused to cast a silent Confingo at the floor right under Natasha's feet, feeling both hurt and satisfaction as that piece of floor exploded in flames "someone who can anticipate anything."
Though, Roxanne herself hadn't anticipated how fast those flames would spread, having not used the spell in years.......

As soon as Ronnie knocked on the door, she heard a voice call from the inside telling her to wait a second. She smiled and continued to stand by the door, happy to have made the decision of knocking instead of bursting in or anything rude. As she stood there, she glanced around herself. It was quite nice in the ministry, she had noticed. Everything was so neat and fancy. Ronnie felt good here too, like she belonged. All the employees seemed awfully nice, and she couldn't wait to start making more friends. And the fact that her boyfriend Jory had a job here just like her was awesome. Speaking of which, she'd have to visit him right after she got off.
And now to the problem she was currently dealing with...... "Really?" Because she was still reeling from the bombshell the other woman had just dropped. "And you really think you can keep him happy? They were momentarily distracted by a knock on the door. Tasha stood where she was, not moving an inch, waiting, anticipating. When Roxanne spoke Tasha’s eyes narrowed slightly and she defended her relationship as she gestured with the hand with the glittering ring on her finger. "Yes, really..."
"I make Dorian happy and I know I can keep making him happy."
"If Dorian had wanted someone smarter, more interesting or someone who can anticipate anything like you seem to think he wants, then he would have chosen them you. But he didn’t. He chose me."
What happened next she didn't anticipate or even see coming. When the floor piece under her feet exploded in flames she reeled backwards against the nearest wall and shrieked. "Roxannnnnne!"

Then again, it could just be Roxanne finally cracking from all the rejection and being pushed aside she'd suffered over the past few years.
"That's up to Dorian. Not you." Tasha said through gritted teeth as she jumped backwards to avoid the next burst of flames shotting out of the floor tiles which just barely grazed the soles of her heels. "Stop doing this. You'll set the whole office on fire. Is that what you want?"
Tasha held her hand close to her wand. This talk had turned out horribly but she really hadn't expected Roxanne to shoot fire spells at her. Yelling she had envisioned and maybe harsh words and then she'd leave but not this.
This could turn really bad soon if Roxanne didn't get a grip on herself.

As Ronnie waited, she couldn't help but hear raised voices... then, she saw a bit of smoke come out from under the door. Blinking for a second, she bent down and peered at the smoke to make sure she was seeing what she was seeing. Was there a fire in there? Were they okay? Slowly, she rose from where she had been bent down, unsure as to if she should go in and make sure things were okay or not. Clearing her throat nervously, she knocked lightly on the door. "Is everything okay in there?" she called through it.

Tasha waited for Roxanne to make more floor tiles burst in flames but apparently she was more focused on proclaiming that all men left in the end. Pulling a hand through her hair as Roxanne doused the flames out she said quietly but her voice was unwavering and confident. "Dorian would never do that. He is not like most men."
Bypassing the charred floor tiles Tasha made for the door. It was clear that their conversation was over. Turning the doorknob she paused to look back over her shoulder at Roxanne. "I'm sorry." was all she said before she turned fully and pushed opened the door, walked out of the office, and past the employee waiting to see Roxanne.

Ronnie continued to stand there once Roxanne told her everything was fine, until the door opened and the person that had been visiting with her left. Ronnie then made her way inside, closing the doors behind her. As she made her way to Roxanne's desk, she looked around herself, observing the office. It was quite nice, and she especially liked the windows that showed the view of London. They were fascinating, and sort of reminded her of the Great Hall back at Hogwarts. Oh, how she missed that place...
She reached Roxanne's desk and smiled down at her. She noticed that the woman didn't seem like she was in too great of a mood... "Hi," Ronnie said, realizing they actually hadn't officially met. "I'm Veronica, your new personal assistant. But you can call me Ronnie." she introduced herself, sticking her hand out towards her to shake, still smiling warmly. "I saw you wanted to speak with me?"

Alex waited calmly in the reception area for a few minutes after she saw her boss head down the hallway with another woman, whom she vaguely recognized from seeing her on Level Nine a few times before. It seemed as if the two had urgent business to discuss, so she didn't want to be a nudge. However, once she saw the woman brush past her - oblivious to the fact that a VERY young redhead had somehow slipped by and was waiting - Alex took the opportunity to head to her boss' office.
Knocking twice, she waited patiently, rocking subtly on her heels.

"Hello, Ronnie and you're correct, I did wish to speak with you. But, do you mind if I let whoever is knocking in first?" she replied, shaking the young woman's hand and returning her smile.
