Haha. This guy's so funny! He should definetly be a commedian. "I guess so..." Emerald started to say. "I do miss the Central Park." And the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the busy streets, the stores, the bright lights. But she'll never move back, because she love London and and will miss it more.

Emmy laughed once again as Brad took a mocking bow. She really didn't know what to do about that.

The door to the Department Head's Office popped open suddenly and a red rocket shot out from the door doing loops above everyone's heads zooming around the department spraying confetti and glitter out of the back of it. As the glitter and confetti floats down to the floor it disappears before hitting the ground and making a mess of the department.

Once the rocket has looped around the whole department it shoots to the middle of the room and explodes into tons of streamers shooting everywhere. These streamers also disappear before touching anything. Then fireworks shoot out with the following message:

The message shoots across the ceiling a few times and then just as unexpectedly as the rocket had arrived everything was gone and it was back to work as usual.

Gavin nods his head once in understanding before shruging slightly as she returned the question. "I'm..." He said opening his mouth to say something when he was cut off the sudden appearance of a rocket and the insuing confetti and streamers that developed out of it.

What in Merlin's beard?

The reminiscator didn't have to wonder long for the fireworks made it pretty clear to the whole department and the man now the focus of said attention what all the hubbub was about. Gavin almost wanting to pretend it was someone else entirely and then he remembered Emmy's original question as the spectacle settled down.

"I'm...apparently to be the new liaison," he finally finished, leaning back in his chair as his hand rubbed the back of his neck to show a touch of bashfulness.

"Hi." Smiled Skye, waking up fairly quickly. "I'm Skye Dillon, from Wicklow in Ireland. And yeah, it does." She turned and saw another woman. "Hi." She said to her, though she didn't feel the need to introduce herself again. "Emerald? I love emeralds... My birthstone, my birthday's May 16th."

Brad laughed along with Emerald, glad that he could easily talk to her about stuff outside work. He was really enjoying this conversation but he was also glad that she was thinking about the places she missed in America. The central park? He'd heard of that and had wanted to go there for a while...

"Well don't move back there will you, you'd be missed here to much" He said smiling at her.

Before he could say another word to Emerald the room was suddenly filled with confetti and the such, it looked rather pretty he thought. He was about to ask Emerald if she knew anything about the sudden party effect - his early words lost to him - when suddenly the fireworks spelt out something...

Brad began to clap and called over to his friend Gavin, "Congratulations mate"

Once he had finished clapping for his friend he turned his head to smile at Skye, "That sounds interesting, what's it like in Ireland?" He asked as a way of conversation, He seemed to be on a roll today with talking to the ladies..."I'm from the countryside of England" He added smiling.

?? Fireworks? And it's not a holiday? AWESOME!

Emerald almost forgot about the laision position, she was too busy laughing and taking to Brad. "Con-" and Emmy coughed, choking back her laugh. "Congrats Gavin!" congratulationed Emmy. She was not suprised, she was new to the Department after all. And there will be a lot less to handle on her hand. The only thing she will be missing out will the the pay raise.

Emmy turned back to Brad and smiled. "Yeah, I will definetly be missing you lot!" she said. "You know what?" Emmy has been thinking of it for a long time, but she has never came to a conclusion for that. It is a very silly thing after all. "When I get back to America, whenever I am eating out, the only places I will eat are either be McDonalds, KFC, and Subway." Very werid. "Because I miss the fat foods." Emmy laughed. "It's not particularly the best food, but it will bring the memories back again. But I have to watch out my weight."

"Like England, only better." She joked. "Nah, Ireland's lovely, though it rains a lot... Then again, I like the rain..." She trailed off in thought, and imagined the crystal like drops fall gently from the pastel blue and and lilac sky. She snapped back to reality after a few seconds. "English countryside? Lovely. Yeah, I'm living in Devonshire at the moment though. What about you?" She smiled at him intently, her denim blue eyes wandering all over his face, trying to figure him out. She had a bit of a habit of doing that...

Bradley laughed along with Emerald, he was really enjoying this conversation. Now that the fireworks had sadly gone - he had enjoyed them and their colorfulness - and they could finish talking about their lives and well getting to know each other. He found this women before him was an easy person to talk to and he was sure Katherine would be happy for him. Before he answered her sentence however he looked her up and down again quickly and noticed for the first time how pretty she was....

"I do enjoy Subway on the odd occasion" He said once he finished laughing, he found it somewhat healthy, more healthy then places such as McDonald's and KFC that Emerald stated.

"So tell me Emerald, a bit about your family.." He suddenly asked for conversation.

When Skye spoke to him he turned his head to smile, and laugh at her England comment. Then again a place that got more rain then England was a sorry place indeed for he had to say they did get a lot of rain here. "I do enjoy the rain myself," He told her smiling. He took his wand out of his hand and conjured up a cup of tea for himself. The steam from the cup billowed into the atmosphere and the hot temperature warmed his hands. "Are you?," He asked at the mention of living in Devenshire. "Well currently i live here in London, far easier to get to work in the morning, but i do have a house in the countryside. Dorset in fact.." He paused, "Was left to me by my parents" He lastly added.

Emerald was glad that she could talk to someone so nice. They've only met for a few hours, but they talked as if they were close friends.

Her family? Well...that was a bit random...thought Emerald.

"Well..." Emmy started off slowly. "I have two sisters. A younger sister who's currently working in Australia, an older sister who lives in Long Island right now-" Ehhh...better avoid talking about her. "My parents...is in Long Island too..." Emerald trailed off...there isn't much to talk about about her family. Actually there is, but Emmy doesn't feel to comfortable talking about it. "What about your family?" asked Emmy at last.

He knew from the moment he had asked the question she must think him weird, he knew this was going to happen sooner or later. He always creeped people out or just couldn't talk to them. Sigh.

He was glad however when she answered, hesitantly of course but nevertheless she answered. He smiled slightly while she spoke but lost some of the smiles radiance when she asked him about his family. He knew she would, but he didn't think it'll be awkward to answer, even when they had been talking like old friends for a while.

"Katherine, Just Katherine." He paused and swallowed, "She's my younger sister"

Emerald's a bit confused. "Just Katherine? No one else?" She hoped that Brad won't feel weird after this questions. "What about your parents" Hopefully, hopefully, it won't be awkward.

Bradley looked down at his hands as he brought them together and apart again. Over and over he did this while he wondered what to say, the best way to explain it to her and not get her confused. Finally after what felt like hours he looked up and said, "My mother died five years ago, as for my father he's no longer in mine or my sister's life not that i care.." He paused before adding, "After my parents divorce he just disappeared."

Skye pulled a frown. "None for me then?" She said, though she wasn't serious, she didn't mind at all. Instead she conjured herself an Irn Bru, much better. She took a sip, chucking. "Yeah, I just apparate." She informed him. "Dorset? Nice." She noticed his pause, and it didn't take her long to figure out what he meant by 'left to him'. She didn't want to make a big deal of it, but she gave him a rub on the arm. "Sorry." She said quietly, "I know exactly how it is." She said honestly, and she did. Her parents were long gone, though she didn't really know where.

Brad had gone to pull out his wand to conjure up a cup of tea for Skye too but she beat him to it. He put away his wand and took a sip from his drink to keep him warm. "I would apparate, but i prefer to walk really" He told her putting his cup down, "Yeah it's only a small cottage but very home-y" He said smiling at the thought of the house he spent many of his summers at, and the beach he used to always go to.

Ah the good times.

He nodded his head and looked at the supportive hard when it came to the topic of his parents. Always the awkward subject this was. "It's alright, i have Katherine.." He said, not finishing it as he swallowed back tears that threatened to fall. How stupid of him....

Emerald nodded slowly in understanding. How sad. A torn family. She decided not to say anything else about it and took a deep breath. Okay...nothing awkward. "Hey," Emmy said finally. "Do you have any pets?" Animals always cheer Emmy up. Hopefully it will do the same for Brad.

Bradley was glad for the change in topic, to something that was easier to talk about and happier. He smiled at her question and though of the many pets he'd and Katherine had each had in their lives so far. "I have an Owl named Jasper as well as a couple of dogs. Lucy and Pebbles " He said before adding "How about you?

Iridesca walked out from her office. She had been making a habit of keeping the door open so that she could hear the chitter chatter and going ons in the department. She actually was thinking of having a desk out here in addition to the once in her office just because well the walls made her feel so disconnected from everyone and she was a people person not a stare at the wall kind of person.

She had decided to make this announcement in person since sending memos from ten feet away got annoying after a while. She walked out to the middle of the department and flicked her right wrist...instantly her wand shot from her wrist holster and into her hand. She held her wand up to her throat to magnify her voice a little bit.

"HELLO!" whoaaaa...too loud..she adjusted her wand a little bit and then tried again.

"Hello, everyone!" she said with a smile and then continued, "I hope everyone is getting settled into our department and getting to know each other as the time goes by." she paused and let her gaze go across the room taking in all of the faces and then taking in the still empty desks.

"Well, I know that our assignments haven't been exactly exciting and amazing yet, but I know that as soon as everything settles in we'll have some more things to work on..." unlike this halfway ridiculous task she was having to bestow upon them. "As many of you may have seen the Minister has sent us a very important memo." she flicked her wand and instantly a copy of the memo fluttered down onto everyone's desk.

She gave them all a few seconds to re-review the memo from the Minister and then she continued. "Here's what we need to do. I would like for you to meet with your different divisions and create a list of ideas for helping to 'rejuvenate our spirits and oxygenate our halls' here at the Ministry. Also the Minister has asked that we figure out ways to 'rejuvenate spirits' and 'oxygenate' other areas in the wizarding world like Diagon Alley or Hogwarts and such..." she tried to keep her voice as upbeat as she could and it took every bone in her body not to roll her eyes, "Some ideas have been to place plants around the halls of the ministry or to plant trees in Diagon Alley...but I would like for us to think about some more creative ideas...." she said hoping that they could come up with something to keep the man in charge happy.

"Okay, well then, I'm going to leave you to meeting with your divisions to start creating lists...let's try to get the lists on my desk within the week. Thank you everyone!" she said as she took her wand off her neck and glanced around the room waiting for everyone to get up and start working on this o so important list of ideas.

OOC: Alright everyone...let's see what we can do. If you'll meet with your divisions...(there's a list in the first thread on here) and start putting together ideas. Just RP ya'll meeting and discussing and throwing ideas out. And if you could get me your ides by the end of next week, July 15 that would be great.

I think it might help make things less confusing if you included your Division Initials in your Title of your posts, so that it's easier to sort through! Thanks everyone...have fun and be as crazy and creative as you want with this!!!

Bradley turned at the sudden sound of a booming voice that was far to loud for the small room they were it. it was quite shocking to hear it so suddenly, but turning he noticed the Department head staring at them all and annoucing something. It took him a moment to gather what was being said and even then he was confused. He'd been looking forward to some proper assignment they could all dig their noses into but this well was it nessacary? He asked himself as he moved slightly so as to not hurt his back.

Once the department head finished he looked around all the other people in the room, trying to see if any were in fact in his division. He even after a few moments opened his mouth and called, "Anymore for Division Four?" Suppose they should get started.

Gavin prepared himself for the comments and congradulations for the promotion, turning his head to his left as he heard clapping. He nodded as he spotted Brad doing the honors, offering a polite smile in return. "Thank you," he replied lowering his hand back to his desk working on appearing normal and not embarished at the attention. His attention turning to his coworker in the Obliviator division.

"Thanks Emmy," he replied to the woman, smiling at her. Gavin hoped there weren't any hard feelings between them seeing as he believed she had also gone for the position.

His thoughts on the issue however were interrupted by the department head's rather loud greeting. It got everyone's attention that was for sure she Gavin turned his head with the rest of them to listen to Iridesca's speech reminded briefly of the memo he had seen hanging up on the board a short time back. He nodded to show his understanding before straightening in his chair and looking to Emmy and anyone else in the blue division.

"Shall we?" he questioned as he took out a spare piece of parchment and quill for notes.

"Yeah, I always apparate exactly one mile away, just for that bit of walk." She smiled, winking. "Sounds lovely." She said sadly, thinking of her cottage back in Ireland, and then her lonely townhouse in Devon. "Katherine?" She asked quietly, noticing the tears behind his eyes. "I know what you mean." She whispered. "I have Beth."

"Division Four?" Said Skye looking around. "Is anyone else in Division Four?"

Brad turned at the sound of someone else stating they were division four and was both shocked and glad that it was Skye. He smiled at her as he walked over. "Skye, looks like we're in the same division. Shall we?" He asked directing her to their cluster of desks and the supply of parchment and quills.

Pleased, Skye smiled. "That's weird." She laughed at the coincidence. She smiled again, and joined him at the desk. "Alright. Any ideas?" She asked hopefully, trying to think of one herself.

Bradley laughed too as he looked over at Skye, who seemed to be laughing too. He was glad he knew at least one person in his division, though he new Emerald more and he was glad for that. It meant he could talk freely with her and not get tongue tied like he normally did round good looking women.

At her question he shrugged and pulled a quill and piece of parchment towards him. Taking the quill he wrote a heading on the sheet;

Okay not the best title but the only one he could think of, once he had done he finally answered Skye's question. "Hmm, How about artistic pictures placed on the walls?" He suggested looking at Skye.

"Arrrttissstttiiiiiic Pppiiiccccccttttttuuurrrressss." She said slowly, pointedly writing it down in an unusually cursive font. Right. Not too sure what they would do, but okay. "What about..." She tapped her complimentary Leaky Cauldron pen against the inside of her mouth in deep thought. "What about these posters that are made out of, um, recycled posters or something, really brightly coloured ones saying positive metaphors and stuff and they just, like, float around and sometimes one might come over to you if they think you need it?" She took a breath, having not drawn one throughout her whole rant. "Er, is that a bit... much?"

Bradley listened to what Skye had to say, nodding his head as she spoke further. Her idea did sound interesting and quite creative, he liked it. "Yeah that's one way of doing it, i was thinking however more muggle painting to hang on the way.?" He paused a moment, "I went to a art show once and they had all these drawings and painting hanging on the wall, some of them were brilliant and i quiet like that. Our walls are so bare at the moment" At that he looked over a the nearest empty wall and frowned.
