Violet glanced over at an unfamiliar man as he say down a few seats away from her. He was as white as a sheet and seemed as though he might start shaking any moment. And if he wasn't new, Violet was a purple spotted hippogriff. She leaned across the table in his direction. "Hey," she said in a low voice. "First day on the job, huh? Look, there's no need to be so nervous." She smiled warmly at him. "I'm Violet. I've been working here for longer than almost anyone else and I can tell you, there's nothing to worry about. Everyone here is great." She would have patted him on the shoulder in a consoling sort of way if he had been within reach. But he wasn't, quite. And she wasn't sure how he'd react to a stranger trying to comfort him. So she settled for another friendly smile.
Noah turned to a woman who started talking to him and gave her a careful smile, that probably looked more like a grimace. 'N-not first day..' Noah uttered, cursing himself for having to stutter again. He'd worked hard enough to get rid of his stutter in Hogwarts only to get it back again now? He forced himself to breathe in and out a couple of times, like he'd been taught. 'I've been here for a few weeks.' He mumbled, he'd die to be with some animals right now, instead of this room FULL of people. 'I'm shy..' He admitted, his face now considerably red. 'I'm Noah.' He said, glad that she was being so nice.

"Morning sir, I'm Felicity, Felicty Mcloughlin." she said politely, extending her hand.
..You shake your boss's hand right? She had so much to learn, but for the time being she just kept a smile on her face and looked every bit as confident as she wished she felt. With a quick scan she noticed a table of refreshments, hmm it seemed quite casual, she liked that.
And here was the first arrival!
"Good morning, Miss Mcloughlin," Atticus replied with a smile as he politely shook her extended hand. And that was how he would address them all unless they requested he call them something else. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Good morning, Miss Stimpson," Atticus said, smiling as he shook her hand as well. "Pleasure to meet you." The Chief Committee Agent and the Minister's Liaison? Ah, so she must be one of the ones who had been here for quite sometime. That was good. "Excellent. I'm sure you're doing a fine job."

That was nice, or was the new Department Head just trying to win everyone over with food?
Hmm, she could be wrong.
She walked toward him and greeted him with a confident smile and said, "Hello Sir, I'm Olivia McCoy," and extended her hand toward the man. She wondered if he was new to the entire Ministry or just in being Department Head.
"Pleasure to meet you, Miss McCoy," Atticus responded, smiling and politely shaking her hand. "And good morning." Hopefully it was a good morning for her.

"Hello I'm Caitlyn Bergeron. And you are?"
"Good morning, Miss Bergerson. It's a pleasure to meet you," Atticus replied as he smiled and shook her hand. Ah, and she was the first to ask him who he was. "I will let you know once everyone is in here," he answered with a nod and another smile. It was easier to say his name to the entire department as a whole than repeat it over and over and over. He had quite a few employees after all.

A small smile crept onto her face when she spotted all the food on the table. This was a first. The new Department Head undoubtedly thought he could win the department over with donuts and coffee. 'This will be fun to watch,' she thought.
Violet went over to the seat that she had occupied in previous meetings, happy to find it vacant, and settled down into it happily.
She overheard a woman ask the new Head who he was, and suppressed a laugh. Even if he was new, Violet was surprised that people in the Ministry might have never seen him or heard of him. He was their boss now, after all.
...Come to think of it, Violet had never actually met him either. She glanced over his way again, but noticed hat there were four or five other people clustered around him waiting for a handshake. Best to wait a bit. Let him breathe.
The next one that came in...did not speak. Hmm? Did she not see him standing there? She headed straight for the table though, so perhaps she was just hungry and needed something to eat. Atticus knew some people didn't eat breakfast before coming to work, which was a shame. So he decided he'd wait and see if she came over soon.

What if he wasn't doing his job good? He panicked as he sat down, his face as white as could be while he kept telling himself not to worry.
This one seemed nervous. But why? Atticus really wasn't that intimidating - or at least HE didn't think so. Perhaps he was? Hmm. "Good morning, Mr. Dawson," was all he managed to get out before the young man hurried off. Hmmm.

Violet raised her eyebrows a bit involuntarily as the man spoke. He really did not seem to be comfortable. She'd try not to be too intimidating, then. "A few weeks? That's still pretty new," she said with a light laugh. "Being shy isn't bad. When I started working here, I don't think I said a word for about a month!" she said with a rueful grin. "Is this your first meeting, then? Look, just listen for awhile once it starts, and if you feel the need to pitch something in you can feel more than welcome to do so, but you don't have to if you don't want." She gave him another kind smile. "It's nice to meet you, Noah! I'm Violet...but I believe I said that already..." Another chuckle.
Violet noticed, out of the corner of her eye, that the cloud of people around the Department Head was shrinking. She made a note in her head that she'd have to go and introduce herself at one point soon.

She walked right by the Department head and hadn't said hello to him! How rude of her... She got up and walked up to him and said, "Hello there! I'm Anna Black. I'm sorry I didn't say hello to you earlier, I was quite thristy!"

Reason: Errors... LOTS of them
Violet raised her eyebrows a bit involuntarily as the man spoke. He really did not seem to be comfortable. She'd try not to be too intimidating, then. "A few weeks? Noah smiled awkwardly at Violet, he supposed he was still new, yeah. Especially since he was probably one of the younger employees around... 'Yes... a few weeks. I'm Officer for Larger Creatures.' His job never failed to put a smile on his face and for the first time since entering the room he had a genuine smile on his face. 'What is your job?'
Noah gladly listened to the advice Violet was giving him, shaking his head at the idea of speaking in front of a group of people. The chances of that happening were smaller than the chance that a Hippogriff would speak Mermish. 'I'll keep quiet..' He smiled at Violet, 'nice to meet you too.'

Felicity smiled, "Pleasure to meet you too, sir." she finished realizing she didn't even know her boss's name, but she was sure he'd tell them all soon, when he wanted too. Giving him a polite nod she walked over to the refreshment table, was this normal for Ministry meetings? She sure hoped so.
Pouring herself a cup of earl grey tea, she reached over to grab the milk. As she was reaching across the table, her arm bumped someone's else's, "excuse me." she said apolgetically, looking up she recognized the woman, "Oh, it's Caitlyn right?" she asked with a small smile, pouring the milk into her cup and stirring it. "Sorry about that, still waking up I guess."she laughed lightly. "..Did you want some?" she asked holding up the milk.

Violet returned Noah's smile. She was glad to see that he was starting to loosen up a little. Even if it was only just a little. "Oh, that sounds exciting!" she said. "Well, right now I'm the Lead Pest Removal Officer, but I have been here for a very long time and I have had lots of other titles. Back when level 4 was only for magical creatures, I was Head for the Beast Division," she explained. "But that was awhile ago now."
Violet laughed when Noah said that he would probably stay quiet. "If that's what you prefer. But you know what? I'm guessing you will be raising your hand and throwing out all sorts of ideas a few meetings from now." She grinned at him.
Violet glanced over at the door again. It was considerably less crowded now. She could probably go over and introduce herself. She turned back to Noah quickly. "Hey, it's been great talking with you, but I'm going to go and introduce myself to Mr. Aldredge so he doesn't think I'm rude." She flashed him a last quick smile and stood up. "I'll talk to you later, Noah."
Violet approached the Department Head, waited for the last employee to finish up with their introduction, then stepped forward and held out her hand. "Hello, Mr. Aldredge. I am Violet Silvermoon, I'm the Lead Pest Removal Officer. I hope you'll forgive me for not introducing myself before, but you looked a bit..." She searched for the right thing to say. "You looked as though you were drowning in people who all wanted to meet you at once." That didn't sound quite right, but she hoped she'd at least get her point across.

Atticus simply chuckled and gave her another smile before she walked off. So his employees - or at least this one - had a sense of humor. That was good. He liked those kinds of people. Hopefully none of them took it quite to the extreme that his brother did though.

Ah, here was one of the ladies who had walked by. Atticus smiled pleasantly. "It's quite alright," he told her with a nod. "I understand. I'm sure the food and drinks are far more interesting than I am." And no, that wasn't sarcasm. The food and drinks probably were, in fact, more interesting than him at the moment, especially if his employees were hungry or thirsty. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Black."

And here was the other one who had entered without saying anything. Better late than never, as they say. This woman seemed to know his name already? Well-informed, this one. "Please, call me Atticus."Mr. Aldredge was far too formal for him. He intended to address this once the rest of his employees were here and the meeting started, but he didn't mind repeating himself once. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Silvermoon." He listened as she explained why she had not spoken to him sooner, and he nodded once she finished. "I understand. That was very thoughtful of you." He was very nearly drowning in people right now, but it was obviously something he'd just have to get used to.

"Pleasure to meet you too, Sir." Or how was she supposed to adress him? With Erica it had been easier. Sighing under her breath Clarissa got totally baffled when the new department head complimented her for doing a fine job. How did he know if she was good and efficient at what she did? Had Mr Belamonte briefed him about all of them? Probably. Remembering something she had wondered for awhile she asked "Sir, was it you who put in the new albinbo bloodhound kennel and training area?"

Violet brushed her hair back and smiled. "Atticus it is," she said. She had actually expected him to want to be called by his first name. Most people did. But she had decided to go a bit more on the formal side, just in case. Looks like it hadn't been necessary. Oh well. "It's nice to meet you, too!" she replied. "But if I'm to call you Atticus, you must call me simply Violet, please!" Violet shrugged one shoulder, acknowledging his next statement that what she'd done was thoughtful. "It was the least I could do..." she said a bit dismissively. Violet didn't really want to make this conversation about her. "I want to make you feel welcome, and not claustrophobic. So...I hope you're enjoying yourself as Department Head, so far?" she asked. Not that he'd had a very long time to enjoy, yet, but that wasn't the point.

"Pleasure to meet you too Sir, how's your day been so far?" she asked. This person seemed quite nice. She was defenitly going to enjoy working here. She was hoping her Department Head would be nice and her wish came true. She might rather be out with the Dragons right now, but she had to meet her Department Head first and come to the confrence room.
Caitlyn jumped when she felt the unexpected touch. She smiled when she saw Felicity there. "Hello Felicity, it's quite alright. She reached for her mug and a chocolate glazed donut. "Sure." She took the milk from her and added sugar to the coffee. She took a sip of her coffee letting out a comforted sigh when she felt the caffeine kick in. "So how have you been?"
Lis watched Caitlyn grab a glazed doughnut, and had to resist the urge to grab one herself. They did look really good, but instead she just took a sip of her tea and shrugged lightly, "Oh I've been pretty good, nothing too exciting going on lately.. but hey maybe this new department head will change things." she said with a glance to Mr. no name. "What about you?" she asked with a small smile to Caitlyn, enjoying the warmth of the tea in her hands.

Deciding it was time to introduce herself to the Department head, Ariehn walked up to Mr. Aldredge, overhearing him respond to one of the other employee about his name, changed her course of action. Extending her hand she said, "Sir it is a pleasure to meet you. I get the feeling that calling you Mr. Aldredge will cause you to become slightly exasperated, so I'll call you Atticus if that is agreable to you. My name is Ariehn Matthews, but you may call me Ari. I'm 19 years old and work in the BEING division of the Department of Magical Creatures."

Once that was all settled, he stood near the door so he could greet his employees as they came in.
Amy... was... late!
This was not like her AT ALL! She wasn't one to be devoted to her work but... when it came down to it, she had to get things done. It was an absolute MUST for the brunette! And yet, here she was, walking towards the conference room, knowing that she was probably going to burst in mid talk.
... What a way to make a first impression.
Despite being late, she wasn't going to run. That would just make things worse! Imagine running midway through a meeting and not being able to apologise properly because you needed to get your breathe back? No no NO!
And sure. The door was shut. Great(!) Amy walked up and pushed the door open to find...
Holy Hippogriffs! This room was PACKED! Merlin, were there usually this many people in this department? She tore her eyes away from the people in the room and looked over at the Department Head who was standing near the door. He was greeting people... not too late then.
"Good morning Mr Aldredge," she said, holding out her hand for the man, "The name's Amy. Amy Lynch." Did she have to say what position she held within the department? No? Okay.
♡ A heart full of Love l ☾ A night bright as Day l
Laurel walked down the hall a little quickly in her heels. She had realized that she was going to be late for the first meeting with the Magical Creatures staff. When she had reached the conference room she peaked her head in and noticed a man standing by the door greeting people as they came in. She immediately thought, "Oh, this must be Mr. Aldredge.." She ran a few fingers through her hair fixing it, then she brushed her skirt making sure there was nothing on it. Laurel composed herself and walked into the conference room. She smiled brightly at Mr.Aldredge and said in her usual light tone,"Good morning, Mr.Aldredge.." Laurel then lightly extended her hand continuing,"I apologize for my tardiness, I'm still trying to get used to the building.." She finished with,"My name is Laurel, Laurel Bellefleur.."
Noah nodded as he listened to Violet explain her job, she must have been here for years by now. 'That's a long time in this department.' He smiled, he would like to work here for as long as he could.
'I'll let you and the others make suggestions.' Noah said quietly, frightened at the prospect that he might have to speak or would willingly do so in a few meetings. As much as he wanted to be less afraid of others, he wasn't quite ready to start speaking in front of groups, he'd leave that to the pros.
'See you around, Violet.' He smiled happily as she left, glad to have made another friend in the department, sure that his mother would be proud.

Felicity had to resist the urge to squeal as well at her announcement, she hadn't been expecting that, "Nothing? But that's amazing Caitlyn! Congratulations." she told her, smiling warmly, and admiring her new shiny ring, "Who's the lucky man?" she asked with a light laugh, weddings were just such happy occasions. She should know.. but she pushed the thought from her head.
angelina trot down the aisle because she was almost late to first meeting with the entire staff of magical creatures, as a new employee she didn't want to give a bad impression, when almost at the front door of the meeting room. She walked a little slower and fix itself. so she immediately entered the room and this first time she meet her boss Mr. Aldredge,
"hello Mr. Aldredge, my name is angelina watson, I am a new employee in this department." says angelina

Had Mr Belamonte briefed him about all of them? Probably. Remembering something she had wondered for awhile she asked "Sir, was it you who put in the new albinbo bloodhound kennel and training area?"
Ahh, she'd noticed the Albino Bloodhound area. Observant, she was. "No, not really me," Atticus replied, shaking his head. "That was mostly the doing of Rafael Belmonte." She knew he filled in as the Creatures Department Head for awhile, yes?

"But if I'm to call you Atticus, you must call me simply Violet, please!" Violet shrugged one shoulder, acknowledging his next statement that what she'd done was thoughtful. "It was the least I could do..." she said a bit dismissively. Violet didn't really want to make this conversation about her. "I want to make you feel welcome, and not claustrophobic. So...I hope you're enjoying yourself as Department Head, so far?" she asked. Not that he'd had a very long time to enjoy, yet, but that wasn't the point.
"Violet it is then," Atticus replied with a chuckle. Then, when she asked whether he was enjoying being the Department Head, he shrugged but smiled. "I am. I haven't done very much yet, and I haven't been here for very long - but yes, I'm enjoying it."

She was hoping her Department Head would be nice and her wish came true. She might rather be out with the Dragons right now, but she had to meet her Department Head first and come to the confrence room.
"Quite good," he replied with a smile. It was still only morning, but so far, the day was going pretty well. Better than he'd expected it, even. "How has your morning been?"

Ah, this one must've overheard his conversation with Violet - she already knew that he preferred being called by his first name. "Thank you," he said with a nod, accepting her extended hand and shaking it. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Ari." She was quite young, it seemed, but Atticus was sure she would be just as good an employee as the older ones.

No? Okay.
"Good morning, Miss Lynch," Atticus replied, shaking her extended hand. It seemed the amount of arrivals was winding down, so the meeting would finally be starting very soon. He decided he'd wait to tell the rest what he preferred to go by 'til then. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Laurel then lightly extended her hand continuing,"I apologize for my tardiness, I'm still trying to get used to the building.." She finished with,"My name is Laurel, Laurel Bellefleur.."
"Good morning, Miss Bellefleur," Atticus replied, shaking the woman's extended hand. "It's quite alright - the meeting has not started yet, so you're right on time as far as I'm concerned." He smiled.

So. Time to start, yes?
Atticus excused himself from the last person he was talking to then made his way to the front of the room. "If I could have your attention please?" he said then waited until they all fell silent before continuing. "Good morning to you all! I hope your morning is going well. If you haven't already, feel free to help yourself to the donuts, bagels, tea, and coffee there on the table. Take as much as you want - I can always provide more if we run out." Hopefully they wouldn't though, and hopefully they wouldn't eat and drink too much. Employees hyped up on too much sugar and caffeine would not be pleasant. They were all adults, so they knew when to stop, yes?
"Anyway, for those who don't know me," which was fewer than he'd thought since many seemed to already know his name, "my name is Atticus Aldredge, but I'd prefer you all call me Atticus. If there's anything you'd rather I address you as instead of your last name, let me know, if you haven't already." He couldn't read minds after all, so if they wanted to be referred to by their first name or something like that, they'd have to speak up.
"Now, to begin this meeting, I'd like to go around the room and have each of you tell me what your position is in this department and what you have been working on recently. You don't have to give specifics - I'd rather you didn't, actually, as that is what reports and paperwork are for," he'd submitted himself to the fact that, no matter what, he'd have to get used to doing a lot of reading about these things, "and I'm sure there are some things that are not meant for anyone else's ears - just give tell me a general idea and whether you were successful or not."

Noah was delighted to hear Atticus say they could have some of the food on the table, and eyed the table for a few seconds before returning his attention to the Department head. He froze when he heard what they were supposed to do. Speak in front of all these people?! No way.
Noah quickly decided against eating, for fear he may just vomit. Noah did not like this one bit.
Maybe he could just scoot to the back, let the others do the talking and maybe get away unnoticed. Probably not, but it was worth a try, right?

Caitlyn leaned back in the chair she was sitting in. She rubbed her eyes in exhaustion. "I'm the Spirit Liaison. Some ghosts have been giving us trouble. So far I have not been successful." She decided to keep it short and sweet. She was already ashamed of her failure. No need to go into full detail. She really has to write that report . . .

Violet returned Atticus's smile. "Good. I'm glad that you're enjoying yourself, so far," she said with a light chuckle. "It only gets better, I'm sure!"
Before long, Atticus started the meeting. Violet returned to her seat next to Noah, who was looking more and more nervous by the second. Poor guy. Violet wished there was something she could d to help him feel more comfortable. She leaned over.
"Hey," she whispered. "Don't be nervous. I've just talked to Atticus and he's very nice. I think you'll like him...." This was probably not helping. She tried again. "Noah, I know you said you don't want to talk today, but I promise, it's not so bad. You'll feel much better once you get it over with." She smiled reassuringly at him. "You can do it!"
She straightened up when it came to be her turn to speak. "All right, then..." she said. "Well, I'm Violet, and I'm the Lead Pest Removal Officer. We haven't had too much lately...just the usual stuff. Doxy infestations and the like. Nothing too hard, and nothing we haven't been able to handle." She shrugged a shoulder.
