Evidence & Pensieve Room The Evidence and Pensieve rooms are only accessible by employees of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and even then, permission must be sought and granted before an employee makes use of these facilities. The evidence room is a large room with plenty of shelves, on which evidence is securely stored, charmed for safe keeping, and labelled according to the date and divisions involved in the associated investigation. There are two registers on the wall, one for recording your visit and one for recording any evidence you handle or remove from the room. Just inside the door is access to the Pensieve room, which as you might guess is a room where memories about cases can be reviewed. Members of the general public are not permitted in these rooms. You are here. |

Izzy didn't really care where they went as long as it was private, and she could talk to him. "Wherever is fine." Although she did recognise when he was taking her. She did know the department inside out after all. "Hopefully nobody brings any evidence in..." She smirked at him, as she let go off his hand, and pushed the door to the room open. |
Quote:
But back to her. "They shouldn't," he smirked, pulling out his wand and tapping the door once they were inside, "because it's locked." So. She could talk in full confidence now. |
Quote:
Aah. There he went. "Good job Mr Ferguson." She smirked, leaning back against one of the walls. She sighed, rubbing her stomach. "Thea knows I'm pregnant." |
Quote:
So Thea knew she was pregnant. "It doesn't exactly take a genius to figure that one out, Iz," he reminded her cheerfully. "What's the issue?" Did he care what Thea though? Hell no. |
"You better come home more too...." Isobel knew how dedicated he was to level 2, but she would need him at home. She would get pretty demanding too, so he would do wise to listen to her. "We need to finish baby's room actually..." She recalled with a shrug. They had kind of done half of it early on the pregnancy, and not gotten around to finishing it. The issue? Isobel sighed, running her fingers through her hair. "Apart from the fact that I didn't tell my best friend I was pregnant for 5 months?" The woman she'd known since she was 11. "Thea..." Isobel paused, thnking of a way to put it. "She can't have kids. It's the reason I didn't tell her. I didn't want to upset her....it backfired..." She'd hurt her by not telling her. Although Izzy knew she would've be hurt regardless most likely. |
Quote:
"Yeah, we can work on this weekend." It shouldn't take too long to do. "And like I said, she never figured it out?" Wes gave her a skeptical look. "It's not your fault she's... barren." Or whatever. The woman was an ice queen, let's be real here. "So she's jealous of you more than anything. I see." Was he supposed to do something about this little catfight of theirs...? This was why Wes didn't like |
Isobel smiled, resting her hands on his arms as she looked up at him. "Surprised you haven't followed me to mysteries then..." She mused with a little smirk. Her features softened though, and she smiled. She was glad he'd stayed in law enforcement though. Mysteries wasn't big enough for two Fergusons. If she did admit though she did miss law enforcement. There was nothing like catching a bad guy and throwing him in jail. That was something Isobel did miss a lot. But maybe it wasn't something one shouldn't be doing when expecting a baby. "Perfect." It shouldn't take them too long. They got things done pretty quickly to be fair. Izzy sighed, shrugging. "She probably did." They were both ravenclaws, both clever. Isobel knew she herself would've worked it out. "I don't know? Thea's complicated...." She shrugged, frowning a little. "She'll get over it. I hope anyway." |
Quote:
Thea, complicated? "Nah, she's not complicated," Wes more or less dismissed the whole issue on the spot. "She's just a woman." And that was how women were. "Yeah, hopefully she'll get over it so we can get her to babysit sometime..." And he was back to grinning again at the idea. Any Ferguson kid would be likely to give whomever babysat him/her a hell of a time. Heh! |
"You'd be bored down there..." Isobel mused, before she kissed him back softly. "I prefer you up here anyway. It means I have a reason to come back sometimes..." Because she really did miss the department so much. Isobel seemed to zone out a little now. It was sort of like she was thinking back to her times in law enforcement, but she looked like she was staring straight through Wesley. Almost as suddenly as she zoned off, she was back, and back on topic. "And us women are complicated." She mused with a smirk as she looked up at him. Thea was complicated, but she loved the woman so she usually would put up with it. "Poor Thea...our kid will be a nightmare." If they were anything like their father. Ooh. That was when Izzy remembered something. "You remember Dash?" She inquired, not sure if he knew him. "He teaches at Hogwarts." She added, just to aid her husband. "Thea's dating him." |
Quote:
He grew quiet then, as she looked like she was struggling to say or remember something, but suddenly a blank look came over her face. Wes waved a hand in front of her face to try to wake her up. "Uh, Iz? You oka---" Oh, there she was, talking again. Wes chuckled a little at his wife's zoning out but got back on topic pretty easily. "Our kid will NOT be a nightmaaare," Wes drawled, dismissing the thought by making it sound silly. "He'll just be... good at self-defense and adventure-seeking and brilliant and he'll probably give us both gray hair, sure, but he'll be ours and he'll be awesome." He gave his wife a squeeze of assurance and looked toward the door. He should be getting back to work now, really, they both should, before rumors started about what they were doing in the evidence room... but Dash's name drew his attention back. HA! He was dating Thea. No surprises there. "You know, I think he mentioned something about her when I invited him to our wedding," he mused. "They deserve each other." |
"You're my husband you better like me visiting." Although she didn't visit all the time. He did live with her after all, so Isobel supposed the must get a little hard to tell with if he saw her 24/7. They did need some time apart. "I should come up again another day and see everyone..." She mused with a nod. Because she really should be heading back down to work now. After seeing Thea, seeing her sister and then coming up to Wes, she had kind of neglected her department for a good two hours. "Yeah...I'm fine..." Maybe she was just a little tired. She'd consider taking a little nap when she got back down to Mysteries. She was the boss. She could nap whenever she wanted too. That chair in her office was nice and comfy after all. "You sure?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. Wesley was a handful, so she could only imagine their child being a handful too. "He'll be MLE ready from birth..." She decided with a laugh. That boy was being a auror or a hit wizard. He'd get no choice. "They are a good couple..." She mused with a shrug. Even if she had dated him herself, but she decided to leave that bit out. She was sure her husband wouldn't approve of that. Izzy frowned, looking down at her watch. "I should head back down to mysteries." |
Quote:
Uh, all right. He didn't press the issue of whether she was or wasn't fine and instead smiled about their kid. "He's a boy now is he? I would have thought you'd want a girl...." Not that he was complaining. Merlin knew he'd never be able to discipline a sweet little girl that looked like Izzy.... "Something like that." He neither agreed nor disagreed, since it wasn't his business who Dash dated. "Yeah, I've got to check in on the offices. Thanks for stopping by, babe." He leaned in and kissed her on the lips, briefly, then led her out the evidence room. |
with Sydney Edgeworth Julia walked into the Evidence room, beside the attorney guy. She wasn't exactly comfortable with walking ahead of him. Behind maybe, hex if needed. Heh. She didn't like it how he hadn't lowered his wand a bit, earlier that day. Evidences on De Talone. Examine them, huh. As if only examining. She walked towards the register, picked up the quill and wrote her details. SPOILER!!: register When she was done she turned to the guy. "Please record you're visit" she said, pushing the register towards the attorney. They weren't going anywhere without that. And he wasn't going to take anything from there. Nope. |
Sydney Walked along side the Julia Girl holding the ice pack still firmly to his cheek. This whole job was beginning to be a pain, literally and figuratively. Just trying to view evidence compilled on his client was a difficult task because the employee's here jump to drastic conclusions. He attempted a yawn, but stopped midway when he felt his jaw almost crack. He was just going to have to look tired then. moving over to the register Sydney signed his name on it it. Quote:

.... Work at hand. "Move along with me, please" she said, as she turned and walked into the room. She guided him through the room towards the MLE section. LONG WALK. TOO LONG. They finally did reach the section, MLE, it was labeled clearly. Man, she loved the office. This meant no extra work in searching for the things and she wasn't in a mood to search for this guy. Or any other guy for that matter. The evidences were here somewhere. She skimmed through the names against each slot. De Talone. De Talone. De Talone. AH. The label clearly stated DE TALONE. "There you are" Entitled to see. HEH. |
continuing from where we left off. Quote:
"Good" Sydney eyed the shelf that held the evidence to Amarntha's case. tucking his ice pack beneath his armpit he slipped on a pair of plastic gloves over his hands. "Are you aware of any findings that the lab has found on these tea cups?" Probably not, the Julia girl seemed just like an errand girl that Mr.Ferguson tasked to take him to this room. She didn't seem to have any real knowledge on this case, poor thing. he turned a cup in his hand, then took notice of a piece of paper on the shelf as well. Placing the cup back Sydney snatched up the paper, and read over the note. Then closing his eyes he swished then tapped one closed eyelid with his wand "Oculo Focalis". Keeping the second one shut Sydney slowly opened his eyelid he focused, and looked over the note once more. he let off a disappointed sigh and with a precise plucking he lifted up a small fiber on the note. "Get me a small envelope." He demanded the Julia Girl. Planting evidence to incriminate his client was not going to go over very well for the MLE at the hearing. |
Was it just her? Or could the evidence room use a tidy up? Emily surveyed the shelves through squinted eyes. She wasn't impressed. Poor coding and organisation... how did anyone find anything in here? It was perhaps the only saving grace that the folders and boxes were at least labelled correctly. Running her finger along one of the rows, Emily suddenly stopped at one folder in particular and pulled it from its place. Taking it to the register she signed for it, noting down the serial number, before opening it to examine its contents. Bloody cold cases. Bloody Prophet. |
Skander despised having to go into the evidence room, it's lack of tidiness always got his OCD flaring up. The only thing that soothed it was that the files were sorted correctly. Unfortunately he needed to return several files that he'd signed out a few days ago, before the mess with the weather. Sighing as he pushed the door open Skander at first didn't take note of the fact that anyone else was in the room with him, simply focusing on putting the files back in the correct places. It wasn't until he'd put everything back and was about to leave that he spotted Emily. Skander bit his lip and debated leaving the room without saying anything to his boss. But he did need to talk to her. He'd gotten the internal memo and while he could understand the reasoning behind what he was being told this time it was going to be an issue. He took a step back towards the door before changing his mind. "Emily," he called, walking closer towards her. "I was wondering if I'd be able to talk to you about something." |
She'd had her nose virtually buried in the file when the door had opened and someone walked in. She was aware of their presence, but owing to the fact that only her employees had access, and even then had prior permission directly from her... it wasn't something that concerned her. Finishing the the sentence she was reading, Emily spared a glance at the company, noticing Skander diligently returning some evidences. Good good. She wasn't about to disturb him, just as it seemed he wasn't going to disturb her, so she contentedly continued with her page. Considering there wasn't much to comprehend on this particular matter, Emily had read and reread the folders contents thrice hoping that she was having a momentary laspe of brain function and that there was more than this progress in the case. Sadly.. her brain was functioning fine. Peering up at the sound of her name, Emily offered Skander a small smile, "Of course you can, what's up?" she replied casually, swiftly closing the flimsy folder and securing it against her chest. |
Oh good. Obviously she wasn't doing anything too important then. He thought she might have been since she was reviewing a file and all. But from what he could tell the file seemed pretty slim so maybe she'd already gone through it. The fact that she had agreed to talk to him now though put him in a slightly awkward position. Mainly because he wasn't sure how to bring up what he needed too. Skander obviously had to say something though since he'd spoken now. "I... Well I got your memo yesterday about the pay cut," he began hesitantly. Not sure how to phrase the rest of what he was attempting to say. Where were all his oratory skills now? He excelled in front of the masses and judges but put him in front of his boss when he wanted to talk about something important to his own life and he couldn't properly get the words out. |
She was strong at reading people -- most people (minus all the mushy personal stuff which she just didn't understand), but even without those skills it was crystal clear that this wasn't going to be a particularly pleasant conversation. The awkward silence which preceded Skander's even awkwarder statement left her feeling slightly deflated. Emily had hoped that those effected could just take the news on the chin and move on. It was a short term solution to a long term issue... of course, wages were never going to return to their previous high, because it was unsustainable and quite frankly, ridiculous... but it would get better. "Right," she managed after a moments silence. Was she supposed to apologise here? Or did he have questions? Opting to see where this was going, Emily prompted him on the subject. "I take it you're not thrilled." Backlash waiting to happen? Well, he could have at it, if he wanted to. They were alone in here, and at least it was sound proof. |
At Emily's reaction Skander couldn't help but wince slightly. Yeah. He'd definitely not phrased that well. Obviously her back was now up. Which was the last thing he'd wanted. Skander knew that Emily wouldn't have cut wages unless she had too. But it wasn't great. "Well, of course I'm not thrilled about it. I don't think anyone would be exactly thrilled about it," Skander replied with a frown. Really, who liked having their pay cut, especially when they had increasing expenses. "I understand the reasoning of course. You can't pay us with money you don't really have," he was quick to attempt to reassure. It was becoming obvious to him very quickly that this conversation was going nowhere near well. In fact he'd say it was going disastrously. Not that, that was Emily's fault. It was definitely his. He just didn't know how to phrase what he wanted to say without making things worse. It had been a long time since Skander had told anyone he wanted to quit. An even longer time since he'd liked his boss as much as he liked Emily. |
The prompt didn't seem to be working the way she had thought it would. But it told her that he understood the circumstances, and she could in return understand that most wouldn't be happy about a pay cut. Still it was out of her hands. "I realise that," she reassured, "and I knew when I set the wheels in motion that I would be perceived as the bad guy for a while, but it needs to be done," she shrugged. And she was all for getting things done. Emily nodded her understanding, lips pursed thoughtfully. She'd been fine with the figures on her parchment, but seeing the human factor... it deflated her. Just a bit. Her expression was still neutral as she let out a small sigh. "Thank you for understanding, Skander," she started, relaxing her arms and tucking the folder in the crook of her left arm. "I appreciate all all the work you all do... so with any luck we can negotiate something a bit better in the near future." Looking after her employees, the good ones, was a priority. |
"That's the thing though. I don't think we will be. Normally the pay cut wouldn't bother me, but..." he was unsure of how much he should say, not wanting to make Emily feel guilty, or even worse than he could now see that she did. Of course she was the boss, she'd have to get used to seeing people unhappy with decisions that she'd made. That didn't mean that he liked being the first person to remind her of the human factor involved with pay cuts. "I've recently gained custody of my niece and nephew. While my wage would be sufficient for looking after myself with the expenses associated with children it wont be," he said blandly. "My original plan was to move them here and continue with my current job. I've lived in England for years now and I quite enjoy it. I love my job too, and you're an amazing boss, really," Skander said, giving her a real smile. Unfortunately, his love of his job wasn't going to make him stay. "A month ago I was offered a job at the Australian Ministry." |
