Laura skirted around the different sets of cubicles and approached the set belonging to the Environmental Permitting office, clutching her mug in both hands. Things were a bit slow in their division, and this was the perfect opportunity for them to sort out some of the other issues at hand. Eager to begin, Laura casually leaned against the closest desk and waited for one of her employees to make an appearance. Sigrid sat quietly at her desk, and continued to read intently whilst she awaited the arrival of her co-workers. It did seem rather slow here, and Sigrid would find it rather difficult to remain seated for much longer if things were to carry out in the same fashion they now were in.
A shadow was cast down over the pages of Sigrid's book, and the young woman looked up to see what had caused it. Another woman was nearby, leaning over a neighboring desk. 'She looks like she's waiting for someone.' Sigrid thought and lowered her book slightly. "Excuse me." She voiced up, "Are you looking for anyone in particular? I can help if you need assistance." Sigrid cracked into a little bit of a smile and chuckled. "Don't know how much help I would be though, me being new and all that."

Hogwarts RPG Name: Dalia Turay Fourth Year | Anybody?? :) Zing Rufin flounced into the work room and whirled his jacket off in a rather flamboyant manner, hanging it onto the back of his chair. He was humming a muggle ballet and grinning like a hyena. Yep, he'd bought it. He'd walked right into the jewelery shop and picked it out. He knew exactly what size to get, though he knew he would have been able to charm it to the right size if he was wrong, and she would love it. He had deliberately bought it from a muggle jewelery shop, knowing how she was proud of her roots, and the only magic that would be involved in the proposal would be the magical jonquils that would sing to her as he spoke. Oh, it was going to be marvellous! Sitting down at his desk, Rufin took out the box once more, flipping it open to glance at the ring, making sure, for the millionth time, that she would love it, then placing it safely back into his inside pocket.
He pulled a pile of papers towards him and, for the first time ever, had a huge smile on his face as he filled in removal forms from his field work. |

Catching sight of a rather enthusiastic co-worker who had arrived, Sigrid again looked away from her book to see if anything in the room could warrant such a thrilled behavior from the man. Nothing seemed too out of the norm.
Sigrid was about to turn back to her reading when she caught sight of a tiny gleam of reflected light and inhaled sharply, but quietly, and began to wonder silently, 'Is that a...' The young woman's head tilted slightly to the left as she squinted her eyes a little, slightly surprised that the man would bring an engagement ring to work.
Perhaps it would be taken as 'odd' for a woman to stare at a ring the way Sigrid now was...until it was hidden from sight again, after which, Sigrid shook her head a little bit to get her brain back on track.

Rufin heard an intake of breath and turned his head to look. Oh... was she looking at him..? He was being rather flamboyant today... Not that he was usually particularly subdued. But maybe she hadn't been looking at him anyway. He tipped his hat and smiled at her (yes, he knew buying a hat had been a good idea). "Good morning, beautiful day, isn't it?" he said to her. It was always nice to be polite, especially with such a weekend planned as he had... If all went well this weekend he would be happy for the rest of his life, he was sure of it, so why not bring a little happiness into other people's lives by being polite? |

Sigrid realized she'd been caught and quickly shifted her eyes away from where she'd last seen the box. "I'm sorry, I-" Wait. Huh? 'Maybe he missed it...?' "Er, yeah, sorry about that. Just zoned out there for a moment." She cleared her throat and took a second to gather her thoughts, which was really her chance to sigh with relief. She managed to smile back as the man tipped his hat. Now that was a gesture you didn't see every day. "Yes. A very lovely morning." Not too hot, not too cold, it was just right for once. The past winter seemed to have gone by awfully fast.

He was already losing any motivation to fill in forms about the removal of a pesky moss... He turned back to the woman, aha, there was a smile. People should really smile more often. "Indeed, I feel like I should be out doing field work." he mused, knowing he had too much paper work to deal with the minor calls he had just yet. |

"Indeed, I feel like I should be out doing field work." he mused, knowing he had too much paper work to deal with the minor calls he had just yet. Smirking slightly, Sigrid held back most of the urge to agree with the man about it being too early to function properly. Though that really wasn't why her mind has wandered, it was a good excuse, and Sigrid welcomed it. 'Certainly is an animated one isn't he?' She thought to herself as she noted the behaviors of the man, her eyes widening a tiny bit. "Agreed." Sigrid stated upon hearing about field work, "I'm not accustomed to being situated in one room for so long." True story, Sigrid's legs were becoming more and more restless by the day.
A thought came to her suddenly, she had no idea what this man's name was. "Oh, I'm Sigrid by the way. Sigrid Kestrel-" 'Okay...do people already think I'm weird for wanting to be called by my surname?' Probably. "You can call me Kestrel...or Sigrid. Either one will do." She swept her dark red hair out of her eyes, as it had got in the way, and reached out, extending a hand to the gentleman to shake.

"I could say I know what you mean, but this is the first day I haven't been doing field work for a couple of weeks." He gestured to the growing stack of removal forms on his desk. Rufin's life, if he had his own way, would revolve around moving, exploring, discovering and caring for plants and animals but, because life isn't fair, there was a large amount of paperwork involved too. "Kestrel? Interesting name." he said grinning - Kestrel's were pretty interesting birds too. "Rufin Stewart, lovely to meet you." He shook her hand, using his other hand to remove his hat and place it on his desk - it looked like he was going to be in here all day - those forms weren't going to fill out themselves - and wearing a hat inside was not something he usually did. "I'm a plant removal agent." he explained as he formed neat piles of paper. "What area do you work in?" |

"Your first day in two weeks?" Sigrid repeated in a questioning tone. 'Man, this guy is lucky.' "Wow...that's...wow. I haven't been sent out for any work yet...been managing zones and what have you from the office here." She gave a shrug and gazed at her reading material, and then glanced towards a small map that was located just above it. 'Would be nice to get to see some of these locations...'.
"Nice to meet you as well, Rufin. Or Mister Stewart..whichever you please." Sigrid nodded. "Yeah, it is a bit interesting." She itched the side of her nose and managed to easily hold in a sneeze. "I think my love of bird watching was partly due to my surname. Kinda influenced subconsciously, you know?"
She listened intently and smiled a little bit, "Removal...so you've been busy for two weeks getting rid of pesky plants? Was there some sort of new, hostile introduction that led to you all being so busy?" 'Something might've been smuggled in illegally and started sprouting up everywhere.' "Was it just one species of plant you all where tracking down?" Sigrid asked as she held in another sneeze brought upon by her long hair tickling her nose slightly. "Oh, right, sorry. I work as an Environmental Permissions Officer." She gave a slight nod of her head, smiling softly. "Not been too terribly busy, but I'm hoping that will change soon."

"Call me Rufin, Mr Stewart is what they call my father." he said, repressing a shudder. "Oh, bird watching? I love birds. I have a couple of cockatoos at home..." he said dreamily. Mhmm, and a myriad of other animals. "Ah, yes. Nothing too much though. Mainly completing the routine check on Diagon Alley. Though a muggle woman over in Cornwall had a particularly nasty infestation of morte moss. Took a while to get rid of it without her noticing the whole magic thing." he admitted, waving his peacock feather quill about as he spoke. "I could have done it in a day if she'd been a witch." It was a shame really, he liked tackling the harder plants - there hadn't even been a devils snare infestation for months - and that was an irritating weed. "Ah, well you never know. There could be something big coming up." he said, not that he had much of an idea what her job entailed, though he could deduce enough from it's title. |

I've never heard that name before." Sigrid added and gave a sniff of her nose. She'd felt a little bit of a cold coming on, perhaps this was the start of it? "They're from Australia, right? Pink, white, and grey?" She asked, giving a flick of her wand and summoned a few papers onto her lap for her to skim over. "I've never really had any other pet aside from an owl...and that was only fairly recently too."
Sigrid cringed a little, she'd not really had any sort of issue in her life having to use magic while a muggle was in such close proximity. ' I'll have to be extra watchful...especially when on the job.' "Fortunately, I hear the Obliviators within the ministry are rather knowledgeable, and completely competent. Any trouble you might've had could have been quickly remedied, I would guess." Her eyes followed the movements of the peacock feather and Sigrid snapped herself out of another one of her staring episodes. "Kinda hope the team I'm in will get something a little smaller to work with first. You know, so that I can be broken in a little easier." She gave a little shrug.

Rufin scrawled a title onto the form in front of him with his curvy hand writing. "So, what exactly do you do in permissions?" he asked curiously, ticking boxes and scribbling words on the form as he spoke.

Rufin scrawled a title onto the form in front of him with his curvy hand writing. "So, what exactly do you do in permissions?" he asked curiously, ticking boxes and scribbling words on the form as he spoke. Sigrid's hazel green eyes widened. "Fifteen animals?" She blinked a couple of times. She'd never known anyone who had that many pets...she herself never really had any at all while she was growing up, aside from an owl. "That must be terribly...draining."
Her head tilted slightly to the left, 'Impersonal?' She chuckled lightly to herself. "I don't think it does any harm to be impersonal, as long as the job is done correctly." Sigrid smirked a bit, "I think that's the point really. Keep everything hush hush and corrected should a muggle witness anything." Wasn't like they would remember whether or not the Obliviator was a cheerful, personable individual or not anyway. "In Permissions?" She asked a bit comically, as though she hadn't been expecting it. "Oh, well, what I do is issue permissions to any witches or wizards who wish to build in environments that are sensitive or dangerous. Same thing goes for any businesses that wish to build in those areas, they must be approved by a Permissions officer first." Sigrid sniffed a little and rubbed her nose, holding in a sneeze, "We also check in on those individuals every so often to make sure precautions and whatnot are being carried through and obeyed." She finished with a light nod of her head. Yep. Quote:

He loved all of his animals dearly, though he didn't really think of them as his animals... more like animals that he cared for. "I wouldn't say it was draining... I suppose many of them look after themselves, it's just the feeding bit that can take a while. And I used to work primarily with animals..." he shrugged slightly. "I still do freelance work with them when I'm not here." "Yes, I understand. I just prefer to avoid it in the first place." It was much more polite not to subject muggles to enforced memory loss, and it wasn't too difficult...
Wow... sounds very... well... very... nothing. Rufin preferred to DO things. "That sounds... complicated." he said, running his hand through his curled dark hair. He could never do that sort of thing... In fact, it had always astonished him, when Julianne was writing up her notes, how easily she managed it even when she had just got in from the dig... he would probably refuse to leave the site if he knew he had to write about his day too... at least the removal forms were pretty simple. |

The pgymy was in search of the outdoors, the sky... or some semblance of the two. And so far this was all she could find. The smell of wooded area was so overwhelming that as soon as she'd escaped the many angry two-legged creatures, she headed for this place.
It didn't look like the outdoors, but at least no one here was chasing her. She stepped into the room fully and stretched her wings out as if to formally announce her presence to all that were in the room. Which wasn't many.
Wings folding carefully back against her body, she started proudly through to where the scent was strongest.

Lazily sitting behind her office, Marina spotted a new face walking into the office. She smiled and waved her hand, "Hello! New employee?" She got up and went over to the lady, extending her hand, "Marina Stewart. I'm a Recycling Commissioner." One of them anyways. Quote:

Marina turned around and saw the Pygmy. D'awww! She started toward the creature to hold it. It was probably astray from the Magical Creatures next door. "Aren't you cute." Stretching her hands to catch it. Or, well, attempt to catch it.
Also, why was a pygmy in the Environmental work room? She should return it to the neighbor's place. |

Also, why was a pygmy in the Environmental work room? She should return it to the neighbor's place. Until now, things seemed okay. None of the two-legged creatures were paying much attention to her, so surely she'd make it to the outdoors in no time at all.
But then, one of the two-legged creatures made some kind of noise and was reaching out for her. Oh no!
The pygmy Granian whinnied and spread her wings out, hoping to make herself appear bigger and more intimidating so the creature would leave her be. She flapped her wings once, as if that might help, and suddenly a bunch of flat, white, rectangle things - papers - fluttered off the desks and into the air. Oh no, what were THOSE? She whinnied again and backed up as she flapped her wings some more. She NEEDED to find the outdoors! Yet even as she rose into the air, many more papers flew off and away from their neat stacks on the desks.
Yikes!

she got scared seeing a creature following her and she was from the Magical Creatures opposite door...Yes,I'm cute replied Linda! |

Yikes! O______o
The Pygmy freaked out and was flying and flapping and.... making a mess! Marina shook her head, "No, no, no.. don't be scared. I won't hurt you.." She walked over to one of the chairs planted there and climbed it, "...I only want to.." The woman, being a tall one already, stretched her arms quickly and clasped her hands around the ickle cutie Pygmy. "...bring you back home..." SUCCESS. HEHEHE.
Marina tightened her hand a liiiittle bit around the Pygmy as she descended the chair gracefully. "Calm down, honey, we're almost there." The office, on the other hand, was already a mess with all those papers everywhere. Well.. she'd deliver the wee pygmy and tidy things up. |

The closer the two legged creature got to her, the faster and harder the pygmy flapped her wings. No, she wasn't as big as an average sized granian. She was just under half of that size actually, pony sized almost. But that didn't mean her wind her wings caused couldn't create a mess.
A few flaps and more paper scattered about, but she was airborne! The small creature whinnied as she flew as close to the ceiling as possible, weaving as she continued toward the strong scent at an alarming rate. She had to get out of here! OOC: Remember, guys, not to play the outcomes for the PG. She's not caught until we say she's caught. |

Rufin opened the door to the work room, whistling a tune. He had a coffee in his hand and his mind was in a totally different world.
Until he glanced up...
He slammed the door shut and stood in front of it, putting his coffee down on the nearet desk - with any luck it wouldn't be knocked over by the wind created by the Granian's wings. It was a pygmy by the look of it - it looked like an adult but it wasn't big enough to be an ordinary one. He'd had to deal with these in the German ministry a couple of years ago... "Somebody close the greenhouse door..." he said, trying to think of a way to catch the poor creature. "Quickly!" She must be missing the outdoors and there were a loooooot of plants in the greenhouses. It would be dangerous and expensive to allow the poor thing in there. |
