She was only here to get Kaylee to ride the broom while her parents were going to meet the teams. Ah! Her name was Amelia. Noted in her brain. "I am Annabelle but Belle for short please.." she smiled.
She saw the little girl over there and she giggled. She just loved little kids. Then she was talking to Kaylee and it seemed they were gonna become friends right? She hoped this girl could stand Kaylee. She had a bit of an attitude.
Kaylee looked at her like she was nuts. She wasn't a ballerina for sure. "Yeahhh.....you sure are...." she said sarcastically. She couldn't help it. Her cousins were mean to her and it rubbed off. What was she? She had no idea. "Ermm I am quidditch player?" she said pointing to her broom and flying around.
Annabelle was a nice name. Amelia made a mental note of it before Isabel pulled her attention away momentarily. "Your broom isn't broken, baby." Honestly. There was no way that she was going to let her daughter ride on a proper broom until she was older. Say thirty.
"Are you babysitting?" Hopefully that wasn't the wrong assumption, but it didn't look like that little girl was Belle's daughter.
Why was this girl being so mean to her?
Isabel started crying as she was told that she wasn't a ballerina. Dance was something that meant a lot to her. Her talent being insulted HURT and she didn't want to play anymore. "I wanna go home!" And she wanted to see Auntie Ness and get hugs.
Jorge just grinned and shrugged, “This event is for the fans, but what better way to get fans interested in these brooms than seeing their favorite pro on it? I know I’d be more inclined to try one for that reason. Plus this area would probably be grateful, someone as pretty as you that people are sure to know. It will be hopping with fans wanting to try. Now can you really not give them that?” He chuckled with his signature smirk on his face. She was pretty and he could appreciate that. Oh she would do it for a picture, “Perfect, this will go nicely.” As he was pulling out his camera he heard a voice. Looking up he assumed it was the person in charge. [b] “Not interrupting at all, just the person we needed. He stuck out a hand, “Jorge Cristo De La Garza, Daily Prophet” and your boss’ fiancé, but he figured he’d leave that part out. He looked back at the pro, “See go for it.” his smirk still present.
He listened as they spoke of the invisible broom, still not fully getting the concept of it, but he wasn’t much a broom person so it wasn’t that big of a deal. “Maybe you could give me a quote on it for the Meet and Greet article. “ Mariel had mentioned putting this area in the spot light a little, so what better way than a new product. “It’s different that’s for sure.” That’s about all he had for it really. Nia was right it would make the game boring, so maybe something for the Dark Wizards of the world? Now that could have possibilities. He got lost in his own thoughts as they spoke. “Well if it does take off, have Mariel let me know and I can get it publicity.” Anything for her he’d do that was just a given.
Getting a blush he smirked more, so she was surprised her close friend would speak of her? He couldn’t help but laugh at her question though, “Mariel Morgan would not be your close friend if it was bad. She doesn’t stick me as one to stick around bad.” Though she had stuck around with him longer than she probably should have. Oh good he was kind of expecting that though, what woman would brag about the bad things in a relationship. He opened his arms in a welcoming gesture. “Well then it’s only in the best friend duties, so do what you need to.”
Was she nervous? He glanced back at Adam to see if he was noticing this. A pro nervous about an interview? Was that a thing? He didn’t deal with the sports world at all really, so he wasn’t sure. “On your career, inspirations, what could help with someone who wants to be you.” It could be good for his career to do something like this really. Show some people he wasn’t just about bad news.

As it was though, he'd done far more than convince her than she should try out the broom, and she just gave him a sheepish grin. "Fine, fine...you've got me." And right on cue, the person in charge joined them. "Nice to meet you, Adam," she greeted with a smile, to which she added a little nod at his position. Division head, huh? Her Mum had sat in his office once. "Nia Newtington," she returned, "Chaser with the Ballycastle Bats." He probably knew that though, right? Anywho. "Jorge here just, well...I was wondering if I might try the Windsweeper?"
...as for the invisible broom? Nia nodded along to Adam's suggestions. "The latter one will only work if the other rider is visible though," she pointed out quietly. Such regulations likely to fail when both riders were invisible. Which reminded her of another question. "Who's it actually being marketed for?" Presumably not Quidditch players.
He should stop smirking at her. Really. It was just a blush, okay? "You speak the truth," Nia agreed, with a light laugh. Her bangs fell forward with the movement, and she gently tucked them back behind her ears. She probably should have braided it back like she did for matches if she was going up on a broom, but she so rarely got to wear it straight down. "I will," Nia said with a nod, regaining her composure. "But...it's not fair if it doesn't come as a surprise." So...he could welcome as he liked, but her tests would be spontaneous. Oh yes.
And yes, Nia was nervous about interviews. About how she might be interpreted and judged. Generally, she left the outgoing, confident pro chaser Nia on the pitch, and was back to quiet, thoughtful Nia off of it. For some reason, many journalists found this a difficult concept to grasp. Past encounters, when she was more naive than she was now, had taught her to be wary. Jorge's interview proposal though caught her. Inspirations. Helping people achieve what she had. She nodded. "As long as Mariel gets to read through it before it goes to print, I'll give you an exclusive."

The brunette hung back a bit, watching for a moment and soon noticing Adam step in, presumably to speak on some points about what they had featured today. Perfect.. he did his job well, not that she expected any different. She had every confidence in him.
Mariel approached the group, catching what seemed to be the tail end of an interview offer. "An exclusive?" She raised an eyebrow as she looked between them, amused yet impressed. "Do you have any idea how fortunate you are?" she asked Jorge as she slipped an arm around his waist and leaned up to kiss him. "Nia Newtington rarely speaks to the press.. you must have made quite the impression." She knew her fiance was such the charmer though, even if she wondered how much the agreement had to do with her acquaintance. "Having a good time so far?" She smiled up at him before turning it onto her former roommate. "Hi Nia.. I see you two have already gotten acquainted. Has he met with your approval yet?" Of course she was only joking, but she did know her friend wanted to check him out a bit.
"Were you going to try out one of the brooms?" Green eyes drifted to the brooms stacked neatly on display. She had the privilege herself to test out the Windsweeper yesterday, though she'd love to fly with Nia again, it had been years. Or Jorge, though she wasn't sure he would really want to. As she looked over the brooms another familiar person caught her attention from the corner of her eye. "Hey Dmitry," she called over to him a bit, giving the man a little wave. "Glad you could make it out." He did say he might and she was happy to see people she knew there, hopefully having a good time. Was he going to try out a broom as well or just checking things out? And although things did appear to be doing fine at this end of the stadium, she did want to check with her employees to make sure. "Everything going alright so far?" she asked Adam. She was sure if there were any issues that he could handle them, but she was around if anything came up.
As Jorge introduced himself, Adam offered a bigger grin and shook his proffered hand firmly. "Great to meet you. Mariel's fiancé, right?" So obviously a good man, as Adam had every reason to trust the boss and her judgements at work, and was therefore going to present the same attitude towards her personal life. And a journalist, too, if he remembered correctly, but that was also explained by the production of a camera and a discussion of interviews with the professional player.
"Sure, I'd be up for offering a quote." Adam nodded at the journalists suggestion. Maybe he'd want a picture, too? Because obviously that would make for gorgeous great reading? No? "Publicity would be brilliant - that is, if everything goes smoothly today. I'll definitely follow you up on that, thanks." Yes, Mariel had definitely landed herself a keeper here.
About that picture....
"Nia. Great to meet you. My eldest is a fan." A fan of the 'pretty chaser from the bats', as the seven year old described her. Adam smiled at the thought of Corbin and wondered if he'd gone by the autograph tents, yet. "The Windsweeper would love a professional ride." Not only would it probably make a great photo to go alongside Jorge's article, it would probably attract some other people over to have a ride. He moved over to pick it up, cradling it from all angles before passing it to Nia to allow her a feel of the woodwork. "You'll be wanting it for your next match afterwards. It's got near perfect turns under worst-weather stress." So no more of this, 'played badly because it snowed/stormed/was too windy. Even Adam admired the broom for that, although he wasn't going to get on it at any point soon.
Nodding some more as the invisible discussion continued, Adam agreed with the pro. "Yeah, that is one condition of such a system. Obviously it's not going to be marketed for Quidditch, though -" Who would watch a game no one could see? And the INJURIES! "But we're considering something around flight and travel - ideally riders could travel lower without the risk of being spotted." Like when the weather was bad, and flying high was dangerous, or when a journey was short.
"The ironing of the concept will happen base on peoples response to it today." As he finished speaking, he ran a hand through his hair, tweaked his braces, and spotted his boss approaching. With a big smile and a wave, he waited until she'd approached. "Everything's going great over here. Nia's going to give us a professional display of the Windsweeper."
Exciting!!

She knew Kaylee had an attitude but when she saw Amelia's daughter come over crying, she knew it was bad. She rolled her eyes and said, "I am sorry for Kaylee doing this to her. If you will excuse me I will talk to her.." she said embarrassed and giving her a talk to. She went over to her and gave her a hard stare and quirked eyebrow, "What did you do?"
Kaylee was still riding on her toy broom. As she saw Belle coming over she must have done something wrong. She didn't do anything wrong. It wasn't her fault the girl was sensitive. "Listen Belle, I didn't do anything wrong.." she began. "Then why was she crying?" Belle asked with her eyebrow still raised. "Well it is not my fault she is sensitive.." she shrugged. She continued to ride the broom and Belle stepped into her path.
"No that is not how it works... you go over there and apologize now.." she told her seriously. She wasn't taking her attitude now.
Kaylee huffed and got off her broom and rolled her eyes. "I better be getting something out of this.." she muttered to her. She went over to Amelia and Isabel and Kaylee looked at Belle and she encouraged her to do it. "I am sorry I hurt your feelings.." she said quietly. She never did this type of thing.

She was sure if there were any issues that he could handle them, but she was around if anything came up.
He grinned widely of course he had her, he always got what he wanted. His eyes wandered back to Adam, “Yes that’s right.” He was actually classified as someone’s fiancé, that was going to get some getting used to. Not that he minded too much, but still it was a first. Him offering a quote was a great response and the journalist pulled out his self-writing quill and parchment. “Ready when you are Nia.” He glanced at the woman to get on the broom. It was going to attract fans he was sure of it. Then his brown eyes moved back to Adam, “Just let me know your thoughts on how the event is helping with the showing of this invisible product.” It sounded like a great thing to shed light on, so why not.
As Adam went on with more of the facts about the broom, Jorge made sure his camera was ready and that notes were being written correctly. He liked the self-writing, but he never trusted it fully either. Messed up his with a gossip columnist once and learned his lesson real quick.
The blush on Nia’s face said it all, he knew she’d do an interview, he was good at what he did and when it came to women even better. “I can pretend it’s a surprise?” He joked a little, “but give it your best shot, I’m not going to fail, I promise.” She could quiz him, check him over, even do a background, he didn’t care he was marrying that girl not matter what she said. Mariel was the first women in many years that he ever let close to him, so he wasn’t going to let anyone remove that from him.
He was going to get the interview, this was going to help prove he could be well rounds as well as hello score for the never happening exclusive. It paid to have the connections. Turning as he heard said connection approach. “Oh yes, of course I do, but I also know how fortunate I am to always be surrounded by such beauty all the time.” He put his arm around her and met her lips for a kiss. “Would you doubt that I wouldn’t make a good impression? I have always made good impressions and I typically get what I want.” A playful grin crossed his lips as he tickled her side a bit. “We are having a great time. Nia was about to fly on one of the brooms so I could get her picture for the paper, and your very informative employee Adam was telling us all the things for the new brooms.” He gave Adam a grin, the man was very informative and he was certainly making it into the article.
Adam got a smile as he mentioned his eldest. "Are they here today?" It'd be a shame to miss seeing them if they were - unless she'd already unknowingly met them, of course. She didn't think she had though. "In which case, I can't wait to try it out." She watched him almost caress the wood of the Windsweeper - not many brooms called for that sort of concern, unless a real expert. "As much as I love my current broom, I must say, it's not the best in bad conditions...especially gusty winds. The balance and usual agility go right out of the window." On taking the Windsweeper, the first thing she did was feel for the weight and balance in her hands. "Bit heavier than mine...to be expected really, given the Windsweeper's aims...and the balance is anchored a bit further back it feels like...it'll be interesting to feel how that affects the steering and moveability in normal conditions." She addressed all of this to both men - Jorge was quite welcome to take a quote from that initial assessment if he so chose. "I wonder if it'd be possible for one of you to whip up a bit of wind for me to have a go at flying in?" Nothing too much, especially if Jorge wanted a decent photo of the chaser, but something so that she could give it a decent trial. After all, she seriously doubted it would match her current mount under good conditions, and was mainly considering it as an addition to her arsenal, rather than as a replacement.
Nia turned the broom over, and took a good look at the tail twigs. She always preferred to read the broom first, before getting on and riding it. "I see," she responded to Adam about the invisible broom, glad that it seemed to be covered. Shame she couldn't go report to Alina that it'd all gone downhill since she'd left though! "By low flying, I assume you mean in bad weather and the like...and not just to scrape over the heads of commuting Muggles in London? It might need some sort of minimum height for invisibility, to ensure the feature isn't misused."
"Indeed," Nia confirmed to Mariel as she joined the group. "Jorge here certainly has a way with words, and I'm hoping he'll do mine some justice too." Although he really didn't need to keep up with all the flattery, else NIa might start getting suspicious. For now though, she just grinned at his bestie mischievously. "He's doing....okay, I'd say," she replied jokingly, with a wink. As if she'd really find anything wrong with her bestie's fiancee. As long as Mariel was happy, then Nia was too. "Trying out the Windsweeper," Nia said with a nod, holding it up for Mariel to see. "I guessing you've already tried it...but fancy a ride with me?" It'd been FAR too long.

Nodding, Amelia was glad that she hadn't been wrong in her assumption. So this little girl was Belle's cousin. Any further thoughts were driven out of her mind when a crying Issy ran over and said she wanted to go home. Frowning, she picked up her little girl into a hug and kissed her cheek. "It's okay. We can go home if you want to." Running her hands though her baby's hair, she tried to calm Issy down. "Everything is okay."
Still consoling Issy, Mia saw Belle go over and talk to her cousin, and was thankful for it.
Snuggling into her mommy's arms, Issy wanted to go home still. Why were they still here. "MOMMY, HOME NOW!" Why wasn't she being listened to? She did not want to stay here with this MEAN girl who was totally RUDE to her.
Frowning, Issy listened as she was apologized to. Kaylee had been mean to her, and she hadn't done anything to deserve that. "You are a meanie." Sniffle.

"Aww Issy I am sorry Kaylee acted that way, she didn't mean it..." she looked at Kaylee who rolled her eyes.
Kaylee heard what Issy had to say. "Well it is not my fault you can't take a joke.." she shrugged. "Can I go now?" she asked. She saw her older cousins over by the brooms. They finally made it. Now she want have to deal with miss water works over here.
Belle shook her head and gestured her to go over before she mad any more problems. "Umm Issy can go play with my cousins over there.." she pointed to the boys. "I swear they are nicer than her.." she told her when Kaylee ran away.

Of course he always knew the right thing to say and Jorge was met with a sweet smile at his compliment. "No, I wouldn't doubt you for a second," Mariel said with a chuckle. And yes, she knew it was true that when he set his mind to something he very nearly always got what he wanted, which usually worked out well in her favor. Laughing a bit more as he tickled her side, she grabbed his hand and turned to the others.
"Oh, he does," the brunette agreed with Nia, the amusement still present in her voice. "And he's a brilliant writer, I'm sure you'd approve of anything he'd feature you in." She was actually still remotely impressed that her friend was willing, but she would have to insist that he do the actual writing, remembering the quote of hers that someone else butchered to make her look ridiculous. "Just okay?" she grinned back at Nia before chuckling. "I suppose that will have to do." Leaning up, she kissed Jorge's cheek. "I'd say you passed.." But as she said, she had no doubt of that.
A picture for the paper? That sounded great. "Wonderful.. A professional display, hmm?" Her eyes snapped to Adam as he spoke and she nodded thoughtfully. That sounded great as well, maybe attract some people to check out the brooms seeing a professional player try one out. "Oh that's great," she nodded to Jorge then gave Adam an approving smile. "He does know quite a bit about them, especially the patents and regulations needed." She knew he would do the department well in this area and was glad he agreed to supervising the broom trials. She was soon grinning for Nia, however, when she held up the broom. "I thought you'd never ask."
