What would Quidditch be without brooms? An open, airy end of the stadium has been reserved for this staple element of the game to accommodate the attendees and professionals alike. Three different types of brooms are available to try out for first-hand experience.
Did you bring your kids out for the day? A cordoned off area is available for them to try out brooms especially for the youngest fans. Toy brooms for the littlest ones, these hover a few feet off the ground, traveling in a predetermined path. Or for the slightly older child, Junior Quidditch training brooms are available to ride, traveling higher off the ground and allowing the youngster to steer, though it's been charmed to stay in the specialized area for today. A cushioning charm has been placed on the ground in the immediate vicinity to prevent any injuries.
Submitted to the Ludicrous Patents Division of the Magical Games and Sports Department, an invisible broom, in its development stages and being regulated through the department, is being unveiled today to the public. Appearing as an ordinary broom for flying, this broom makes the rider and broom invisible while riding it. Be one of the first to test out this experimental broom. A tracking charm has been provided to keep it within the walls of the stadium.
Courtesy of Quality Quidditch Supplies, be the first to test out a state of the art racing broom before it's even on the market! The Windsweeper has been specifically designed to maintain it's speed and power through tough and strong winds, unlike other brooms that have failed to do so in the past. The wood, which is made of a dark brown iron wood, is also equipped with an anti braking charm, allowing the wind resistance to be at it's best. Yet it is also designed in such a way that turning and speed will be as powerful as, if not better than all well-made racing brooms. Techniques have also been added to the broom's tail, where the twigs have finely been selected and designed to have them maintained long and well.
Step up and take a test ride on one of the newest brooms not yet on the market! Or let your child have fun on one of the kiddie brooms.

Jorge was there, it wasn't something he'd be at if it wasn't that his fiance was the department head of the department putting this on. So now here he was covering a sports event. Ugh if anyone back in Ronda knew he was doing this, it would never be left alone.
He was proud of her though, it looked amazing and he knew it would be a success and why wouldn't it be. Professional quidditch players and fans coming together. That had everything about success riding on it. Walking through the area he looked around trying to see if he could catch a snapshot of anyone doing something paper worthy or possibly a quote or two for the follow up.
Stopping near the broom trials he glanced at them. Flying, just not his thing, but it wouldn't hurt to look at the newest models of things. He did have an older niece that might enjoy one of the kid size ones.
This was the biggest event he'd - and his department - had ever been a part of. He ran his fingers through his hair as he did a last minute check on all of the charms and precautions put into place, and made sure that the brooms themselves were looking their best. Hopefully he'd have a lot of interest. Maybe Lorelai would bring the kids over a little later - although he was sure he'd have Saff twisting his finger to go on the new brooms, and a hurtful stare when he said she could try the Junior's one.
Clapping his hands together and widening his grin, he waited for his first attendee.

This whole Quidditch event was so very exciting, and the fact they had brooms to fly on had Ronnie even more excited for the whole thing. The red head was like a kid in a candy store when she reached the field for flying. Eeep! She hadn't flown in ages, it felt like. She had almost forgotten how great it felt to fly until she laid eyes on the open field and all the brooms. Smiling, she stood waiting in the grass for her boyfriend Jory to come find her and join her. He should be here any minute, yeah? Ronnie glanced around for him.
Dmitry was pretty excited for this Quidditch event. While he'd mainly played for fun he was a huge fan of the sport and getting to meet some of the stars, even if they were from England would be amazing. That being said his first stop was the brooms. He couldn't wait to get a look at the new models and he also wanted to buy some kid ones for his younger relatives and his godson since his birthday was coming up soon and he figured this would be the perfect chance to see the kids brooms in action. He hadn't paid much attention to the kids ones in the past since he didn't need them, but now he was determined to not buy a substandard toy broom.
Standing around, not knowing exactly what to do, Dmitry waited for the demonstration or whatever to begin.

Edward walked over to the end of the Quidditch stadium for the brooms. He was interested to see what was going on and what might be available soon. He glanced at the models and grinned. They could try them out? he thought to himself. He wanted to give a go at this invisible thing.

Needing a brief break from the autographing, Nia had gone for a wander...and it wasn't long before she stumbled across the Broom trial area. Did they need Pros to come show off the Windsweeper? She sure wouldn't mind giving people a quick demonstration, and maybe getting a feel for it herself. She loved her competitive broom, but it wasn't as stable as it could be in really gusty weather, and she was intrigued to see if the Windsweeper really could overcome her current broom's shortcomings.
Who was in charge to ask?
She wasn't sure...but she did spot a familiar face in the crowd. Well, at least, she thought it was familiar. She'd only seen him in photos, after all...but Mariel had said he'd be here. "The Windsweeper looks impressive, doesn't it?" she commented to him friendlily, just in case she'd got her identification wrong. It should be fairly obvious who she was, given her short blonde hair and fact she was in team kit. "Not sure about the invisible one though; it's just asking for mid-air collisions unless it's got some sort of on board sensor system." He could quote her on that if he wanted. Her mother did used to be Head of the Patents division, after all.

He watched the people coming to try the brooms and figured he could talk to the man in charge. Possibly get a few broom things for the follow up article. Just as he was about to head a little closer he looked up hearing a voice. By the look of her outfit, player he supposed. Not that he had a clue which player was which. He glanced towards a broom, which was the one she was talking about?
"Oh yes, very impressive." he just decided to agree. Eventually she'd probably pick up the broom she was speaking of. Or maybe that brand was the only one there. He glanced over, hell if he really knew. "Going to take it out for a test?" Maybe she'd tell him about it more. His eyes glanced towards the the brooms again, "I just don't get the concept of an invisible broom. Aren't there enough flying accidents?" In his opinion there were anyway.
How rude of him though, all this broom talk and he hadn't even introduced himself. Given a nice smile towards her, "Jorge Cristo De La Garza, by any chance would you mind giving your thoughts on today's events for an article? I work for the Daily Prophet." Just in case she didn't already know.

It was very much unlike Jory to be late for anything yet here he was, late today to meet up with Ronnie. He hoped she wouldn't be annoyed with him but in his defence, it wasn't his fault that he'd been held up because of his work.
At least he was finally on his way to find her. And the plus side was that he could help out with the security here too. Jory almost immediately spotted Ronnie because of her vivid red hair. He knew she must be very excited to test out one of those brooms. He headed over to her and pecked her on the cheek. "Hi,'' he said. "Hope I'm not late.''

"If they'll let me," Nia replied brightly, her gaze returning to the Windsweeper momentarily, distracting her from the fact that her companion was clueless as to which one that might be. "I'm interested to know what the balance is like on it...my feeling is that the extra stability in the wind might come at a cost out of it." Possibly problematic for those wanting an all-round broom, but still perhaps a worthy addition to her kit for games in rough weather.
As for the invisible broom, wasn't he basically just repeating what she'd just said? Regardless, she nodded in agreement. "I have a few safety concerns, that's for sure. It doesn't encourage safe flying when nobody can see you...more likely the complete opposite. I assume patents have been thinking about that though." If they weren't, well that was a worrying state of affairs indeed.
As he introduced himself, Nia returned his smile. "Nia Newtington," she returned amicably. He hadn't given off vibes implying he knew who she was, so it seemed fair to return the favour. "It's nice to finally meet you." She ran a hand lightly through her cropped blonde hair, taking a moment to size him up now his identity was confirmed. "I'm not usually one for interviews, but I might make an exception for the fiance of my head bridesmaid."

Jorge nodded listening, “Well that’s what they are here for. I don’t see why they wouldn’t want a professional to jump on and try. Show interest. That would be the best marketing they could do. Fans want what you have, so show you have interest and so will they.” He was good at that sort of thing, hence why he was where he was. He knew how to get people into what he was writing. “Well only one way to find out.” He gestured toward it for her. “Mind if I get a few shots of you on it? You’d be perfect for the articles picture.” She was gorgeous he could appreciate that and a professional player so it worked both in his favor.
“I might spotlight that broom in my writing. I think it would interest the public more. Things to possible come. Maybe changed the game a little?” Hmm good questions to think about. Pretending to listen, which he was good at, he smiled his interested in what you were saying smile and continued to nod. It always worked like a charm especially with women, so he figured it would work now as well. He looked toward the man he thought was in charge, Adam was his name if he remembered what Mariel told him.
The name he recognized right from the start, this was the one getting married. See he listened when Mariel spoke, maybe just not anyone else. Knowing better than to not listen to your fiancé, fast way to get on the couch, and Jorge was not a couch sleeper. “Nia, I’ve heard so much about you.” Of course she would have heard about him as well. That became obvious as she said finally, “I hope you’ve heard all good things.” There were bad, but that had been a while ago. This fiancé thing had its perks, he had to admit. An exclusive interview with someone who wasn’t one to do that. Hmm, maybe he needed more than just a quote. “Well an interview would be an entirely different thing than just a measly quote. I’d love to fully interview if you were up for that.” Pull two stories out of this day, it was looking better and better.

Ronnie beamed as she felt Jory kiss her on the cheek. "You made it! Hi!" she said excitedly, hugging him tightly. She then shook her head. "Nope, I only just got here." she told him, kissing his cheek. She then turned, looking at the brooms. "So...you wanna fly around?" she then asked, grinning. The red head was just itching to get on one of those brooms!
Nia tilted her head from side to side, as if undecided. "Well, it's not really about us as Pros, is it? Well, at least, it isn't for me. Who did she need to speak to in order to have a go? She did want to try it out, and her picture in the paper would keep the sponsors happy.
Whilst she tried to catch the eye of the ministry person in charge (there was one, right?), Nia considered his next words. "The invisible one? It'll never be passed for Quidditch broom...bit boring for the spectators, don't you think?" And whilst she played Quidditch for the sheer joy of it, she knew it was ALL about the fans at the end of the day. They kept her being able to do what she loved day in, day out. "It's one for personal use I should imagine, which probably makes it even more dangerous. Can you imagine how many crashes there could be if commuters started using them over London?"
Yes, Nia had a brain, and wasn't afraid to use it...unlike the typical player stereotype. Ahem.
Mariel had told him about her? Nia blushed, the hand that she had been running through her hair settling awkwardly on the back of her neck. "Nothing too bad, I hope..." Unless it was bad in a good way. Mariel and Nia had been known as the terrible twosome on the pitch as school. Constantly covered in bitemarks and bruises from trying to get one up on each other at training in readiness to take on everyone else in matches. They'd gone through a LOT of bruise paste in their dorm, though it'd definitely been worth it. Her lips curled upwards at the memory. "Nothing too awful," she winked, as he countered with basically the same. "Though I feel it's my duty as bestie to give you my own once over too." She tapped her chin lightly at that...somehow managing to keep it both playful and serious.
An interview? Nia fiddled with her bangle (old habits died hard) and considered the proposition...and its proposer...carefully. "On what?" Her forthcoming wedding?...no way. On today or other Quidditch related things, then she might...just this once. As long as Mariel got to look it over before it went to print.

Adjusting his badge, Adam slung his suit jacket over the back of his chair, but didn't sit down. He looked in charge, right? People could tell he was in charge? Maybe if he put the badge on his bloody forehead instead and...
PERSON. "Morning!" Grinning brightly, he sauntered over to someone who looked a little lost. As lost as Adam himself felt, in all honesty, but he knew his confidence wasn't going to let that show. "You wanting to know more about the brooms, or looking to have a go on one?" Because he could help with that! That was, after all, what he was there for.

Someone was approaching him - Adam knew this was a good sign. He looked important, he looked in charge, and he looked, most importantly, like he knew what he was doing. Which he did. Totally. He knew it had been a good idea to wear a suit and tie - even if he'd been boiling in his blazer, suited and booted definitely gave an air of importance, right? "Invisible broom? Of course - first to test it out, other than my colleagues and I!" He grinned, pushing his hair back, and led the way to the broom, running his hand over the handle. "Causes itself and its rider to be invisible in flight - as soon as you're landed for more than a minute or so, or if you dismount -" Or fall, but he wouldn't mention that, because that didn't exactly instil confidence in people -"both you and the broom become visible again, allowing yourself to find it and store easily." Adam lifted the broom from it's stand and held it out for the man to admire.
SPOILER!!: Jorge & Nia

"Sorry to interrupt -" Adam approached the pair, seeing the lady eager to try the new Windsweeper, by the sound of things, and them debating the safety regulations surrounding the Invisible broom. "I'm Adam Stemp, Patents Division Head here at Games and Sports. You're more than welcome to try any of the brooms - as long as you dont leave the perimeter of the stadium. And if you've got any questions, I'm more than happy to answer them." He grinned, although inside he was trying to remember players name, and who played where, because he knew he recognised this woman, but....
He should have tried harder.
"As for the safety regulations surrounding our new invisible broom, Patents are currently working out the best way to pursue the marketing of such an object. Of course, we're considering all options. Regulated airways, installing detectors on these brooms, and maybe even determining riders of these responsible for the control of their rides. That is to say that, ah - they're the ones to 'get out of the way' if they see another flyer approaching." He flashed a smile again, running a hand along his tie before continuing. "Depending on the response to them at this event - which we're hoping will be eager, I'll enter into negotiations with the Department of Magical Transportation to finalise and iron all issues out."
Phew. He... He never talked this much, unless it was about his kids. And that was only because there were eight of them, and that required a lot of talking. He was praying he'd done the department justice.

A sheepish smile spread across Ronnie's face at what Jory said. "Awww...same here, love." she told him with a firm nod. And she meant it! She loved every minute spent with her Jory.
The red head looked around when Jory pointed the man in charge to her. Once she spotted him, she gave a nod. "Oh, okay!" she said, turning her attention back to Jory as he told her about an invisible broomstick. She raised her eyebrows at this. An invisible broomstick, eh? She was surprised she didn't already know about this! She absolutely had to try it. "Ooooo! I wanna try it out!" she exclaimed eagerly, bouncing on her heels in excitement.

Jorge just grinned and shrugged, “This event is for the fans, but what better way to get fans interested in these brooms than seeing their favorite pro on it? I know I’d be more inclined to try one for that reason. Plus this area would probably be grateful, someone as pretty as you that people are sure to know. It will be hopping with fans wanting to try. Now can you really not give them that?” He chuckled with his signature smirk on his face. She was pretty and he could appreciate that. Oh she would do it for a picture, “Perfect, this will go nicely.” As he was pulling out his camera he heard a voice. Looking up he assumed it was the person in charge. [b] “Not interrupting at all, just the person we needed. He stuck out a hand, “Jorge Cristo De La Garza, Daily Prophet” and your boss’ fiancé, but he figured he’d leave that part out. He looked back at the pro, “See go for it.” his smirk still present.
He listened as they spoke of the invisible broom, still not fully getting the concept of it, but he wasn’t much a broom person so it wasn’t that big of a deal. “Maybe you could give me a quote on it for the Meet and Greet article. “ Mariel had mentioned putting this area in the spot light a little, so what better way than a new product. “It’s different that’s for sure.” That’s about all he had for it really. Nia was right it would make the game boring, so maybe something for the Dark Wizards of the world? Now that could have possibilities. He got lost in his own thoughts as they spoke. “Well if it does take off, have Mariel let me know and I can get it publicity.” Anything for her he’d do that was just a given.
Getting a blush he smirked more, so she was surprised her close friend would speak of her? He couldn’t help but laugh at her question though, “Mariel Morgan would not be your close friend if it was bad. She doesn’t stick me as one to stick around bad.” Though she had stuck around with him longer than she probably should have. Oh good he was kind of expecting that though, what woman would brag about the bad things in a relationship. He opened his arms in a welcoming gesture. “Well then it’s only in the best friend duties, so do what you need to.”
Was she nervous? He glanced back at Adam to see if he was noticing this. A pro nervous about an interview? Was that a thing? He didn’t deal with the sports world at all really, so he wasn’t sure. “On your career, inspirations, what could help with someone who wants to be you.” It could be good for his career to do something like this really. Show some people he wasn’t just about bad news.

Jory knew very Ronnie wanted to try that broom. If she didn't, then something was definitely wrong. By then they had reached the person in charge.
"Hi,'' Jory said. "Ronnie here would like to try that invisible broom, please.'' He wasn't sure he wanted to try that. Not being fond of regular brooms was something totally different but an invisible one? Maybe he could try something else.

'Someone as pretty as you...' Was Jorge flattering her? ...she might be worried if she didn't know that Jorge was engaged to her best friend. As it was though, he'd done far more than convince her than she should try out the broom, and she just gave him a sheepish grin. "Fine, fine...you've got me." And right on cue, the person in charge joined them. "Nice to meet you, Adam," she greeted with a smile, to which she added a little nod at his position. Division head, huh? Her Mum had sat in his office once. "Nia Newtington," she returned, "Chaser with the Ballycastle Bats." He probably knew that though, right? Anywho. "Jorge here just, well...I was wondering if I might try the Windsweeper?"
...as for the invisible broom? Nia nodded along to Adam's suggestions. "The latter one will only work if the other rider is visible though," she pointed out quietly. Such regulations likely to fail when both riders were invisible. Which reminded her of another question. "Who's it actually being marketed for?" Presumably not Quidditch players.
He should stop smirking at her. Really. It was just a blush, okay? "You speak the truth," Nia agreed, with a light laugh. Her bangs fell forward with the movement, and she gently tucked them back behind her ears. She probably should have braided it back like she did for matches if she was going up on a broom, but she so rarely got to wear it straight down. "I will," Nia said with a nod, regaining her composure. "But...it's not fair if it doesn't come as a surprise." So...he could welcome as he liked, but her tests would be spontaneous. Oh yes.
And yes, Nia was nervous about interviews. About how she might be interpreted and judged. Generally, she left the outgoing, confident pro chaser Nia on the pitch, and was back to quiet, thoughtful Nia off of it. For some reason, many journalists found this a difficult concept to grasp. Past encounters, when she was more naive than she was now, had taught her to be wary. Jorge's interview proposal though caught her. Inspirations. Helping people achieve what she had. She nodded. "As long as Mariel gets to read through it before it goes to print, I'll give you an exclusive."
Belle was being nagged by Kaylee to go to the quidditch event. Her mother asked her to take Kaylee. She agreed just to get her off her back. Kaylee was squealing in delight. She was smiling and skipping towards the brooms. Belle remembered riding a broom in her first year. She loved it. She even remembered Kace riding his broom. He had the spark in his eyes. She knew he would be a quidditch player. He even did well in his first match.
"COME ON BELLE!" Kaylee urged her on. "I wanna go ride a broom!!" she said still tugging. Belle smiled and was walking toward it. She saw the training brooms. "Go on go try it out..." she urged her. Kaylee went onto a broom and was squealing in delight. "WEEE!!!"

"COME ON, MOMMY! LET'S GO! I WANNA RIDE THE BROOOOOM!" Pulling on her mother's arm, little Isabel was so excited. She wanted to play with the toy brooms and fly like the Quidditch stars. Even though dancing was her passion, she still wanted to go up into the air like birds did.
And where were Auntie Ness and Uncle Jasper? Issy wanted to see them. Pout.
Feeling that her arm was about to be pulled out of its socket, Mia let her daughter pull her towards where the toy brooms were. "No pulling, Issy. You are a big girl now." She didn't want her little baby to grow up, but it was happening. How could she be almost six already?
Watching Issy climb onto the toy broom made her smile. Soon enough she would be able to ride a real one; she was already doing ballet lessons. Seeing another lady there with a girl, she sent a friendly smile. It was nice to see little kids enjoying flying on brooms.

Belle turned around and saw another girl around Kaylee's age. Or maybe younger than her. She smiled and Kaylee was doing the same thing to her. She raised her eyebrow when she went to the brooms. Man little kids and their energies. They never run out. They are always hyper and excited. Belle chuckled and went over to the women and commented, "Little kids huh? I see ours both like the toy brooms over there.." she said pointing to them. "Are you a quidditch fan?" she asked curiously. "Or are you here to keep your little one out of ur hair like I am?"
Kaylee was soo busy riding the toy broom. She was having soo much fun! She was squealing and was in the air. She never rode a broom before. It was good practice. She noticed the younger girl and smiled towards her. She wasn't giving her an attitude just yet. She wanted to meet her first. "You knew to flying?" she asked the girl.

Shaking her head in amusement, Mia stayed near her daughter to make sure that she didn't get into any trouble. Of course the toy brooms were perfectly safe, but she was not up to taking chances when dealing with a hyper five-year-old.
Was she a fan of Quidditch? Or did she just want Isabel out of her hair? That made Amelia laugh. "Um, I don't mind Quidditch, but I'm mostly here because she wants to ride on a toy broom." There was a first time for everything, and it honestly was a nice excuse to get out of the house even though it meant that Jesse and Colton needed to be looked after by their grandmother. There was no way that she would be dealing with THREE children at this event. "I'm Amelia, by the way."
WEEEEE!
This was a lot of fun. Isabel wished that she could get further off the ground though because she was not really up in the air at all! "Mommy, I wanna go higher," the little girl whined. THIS WAS NOT FAIR! Pout.
Why wasn't she going higher? Didn't her mommy know that this broom was broken?!
... And looked like hers wasn't the only broken one either. "I'm a ballerina!" So yes, she was new to flying. "What are you?" Was she a dancer too?

Belle was giving her props. She was honest and Belle didn't mind Quidditch either. She liked it. It was a sport everyone was into. She didn't know who her favorite team was. She was only here to get Kaylee to ride the broom while her parents were going to meet the teams. Ah! Her name was Amelia. Noted in her brain. "I am Annabelle but Belle for short please.." she smiled.
She saw the little girl over there and she giggled. She just loved little kids. Then she was talking to Kaylee and it seemed they were gonna become friends right? She hoped this girl could stand Kaylee. She had a bit of an attitude.
Kaylee looked at her like she was nuts. She wasn't a ballerina for sure. "Yeahhh.....you sure are...." she said sarcastically. She couldn't help it. Her cousins were mean to her and it rubbed off. What was she? She had no idea. "Ermm I am quidditch player?" she said pointing to her broom and flying around.

"As long as Mariel gets to read through it before it goes to print, I'll give you an exclusive."
Eager to see how this area of the event was running, Mariel headed towards the broom displays, slowing her pace as she neared. Jorge and Nia... interesting. She had fully intended on introducing the two of them here but what a coincidence that they already me through chance. The brunette hung back a bit, watching for a moment and soon noticing Adam step in, presumably to speak on some points about what they had featured today. Perfect.. he did his job well, not that she expected any different. She had every confidence in him.
Mariel approached the group, catching what seemed to be the tail end of an interview offer. "An exclusive?" She raised an eyebrow as she looked between them, amused yet impressed. "Do you have any idea how fortunate you are?" she asked Jorge as she slipped an arm around his waist and leaned up to kiss him. "Nia Newtington rarely speaks to the press.. you must have made quite the impression." She knew her fiance was such the charmer though, even if she wondered how much the agreement had to do with her acquaintance. "Having a good time so far?" She smiled up at him before turning it onto her former roommate. "Hi Nia.. I see you two have already gotten acquainted. Has he met with your approval yet?" Of course she was only joking, but she did know her friend wanted to check him out a bit.
"Were you going to try out one of the brooms?" Green eyes drifted to the brooms stacked neatly on display. She had the privilege herself to test out the Windsweeper yesterday, though she'd love to fly with Nia again, it had been years. Or Jorge, though she wasn't sure he would really want to. As she looked over the brooms another familiar person caught her attention from the corner of her eye. "Hey Dmitry," she called over to him a bit, giving the man a little wave. "Glad you could make it out." He did say he might and she was happy to see people she knew there, hopefully having a good time. Was he going to try out a broom as well or just checking things out? And although things did appear to be doing fine at this end of the stadium, she did want to check with her employees to make sure. "Everything going alright so far?" she asked Adam. She was sure if there were any issues that he could handle them, but she was around if anything came up.
