You're standing in front of one of the the most exciting things within the Ministry. The Enchanted Window. Why is it in the Environmental department. No one will ever know, but this lovely window will excite the soul, and occupy the imagination anyway. It pleases, attracts, delights your every thought. Get closer to the window to cherish your deepest wish. Interesting, eh?
OOC:All Ministry of Magic employees, regardless of their assigned department, are welcome to create their own roleplay in this thread. Please remember to follow all SS rules though.

Victoria was restless, she wasn't sure why though, but her legs were just feeling stiff from being at her desk. The manager meeting had went fine, schedules all seemed to being going well, so she wasn't sure what her fidgety issue was about. Nothing a little walk wouldn't cute. So now she was taking a walk through some other floor.
Making her way from her department and taking the lifts, Victoria found herself on the fourth floor. She had been here few times, but not to wander. So today she just walked around. Being up near creatures she thought about stopping in and seeing if she could see any or possibly visit with William. She hadn't seen him in awhile, though at this moment she was just happy taking a little walk.
Stopping and turning Vic's brown eyes focused on a window. Thinking it looked very different than the others she took a few steps closer.
Emmalee was wandering. Sure, work in the greenhouses was exciting, but every so often, she just wanted some human contact.
Or at least something to look at that wasn't plants.
She kept her wandering to the fourth floor, however, and soon found herself approaching the enchanted window. She'd not spent much time near it, always rushing to or from some meeting or a particularly timed experiment, but for the moment, it seemed like a fine place to be.
Approaching, she saw a woman she didn't recognize stepping closer to the window. "It's really something else, isn't it?" she said as she approached, partially as a conversation starter and partially as a warning so that she wouldn't startle the woman.

She was sort of mesmerized by the window as she continued to look at it. As she made her way closer to it Victoria wondered if she had ever seen this before. Her first thought was no since it seemed to so new to her.
Hearing another voice she turned her brown eyes on a woman that had come up behind her. Giving a nod and smile she glanced back at the window. "It really is. I've never seen it before." Not that she was on level four often, but it was fun to find new things.
Turning fully away from the window and facing the most likely level floor employee, "Has it always been here?" She assumed it had, but it was just curious that on her many walks around the ministry she hadn't come to it. "Emmalee Quinn, Senior Botanist," she offered, as she stepped closer and extended her hand, thankful she'd given them a thorough scrub after the last round in the greenhouse.
Standing in front of the window, she turned to consider it and pressed a fingertip against her lip thoughtfully. Had it been here the last time she worked at the Ministry? Surely not... She thought she would have remembered something so... enchanting. "I just started in this job recently," she said, tilting her head to consider what she saw in the window. "And I don't believe it was here the last time I worked here, but that was 10 years ago."
She shrugged, turning back to Victoria, though her gaze lingered on the window. "Perhaps it was installed during a recent remodel..."

Victoria smiled as the woman greeted her and took her hand. "Very nice to meet you Emmalee. It's always nice to take a walk in other departments to get to know more people at the ministry." She highly enjoyed it and was glad that Gavin had talked her into it a few years ago.
Her brown eyes went back to the window and how amazing it truly was. She tilted her head examining it more. "That's interesting. I've been here for six or seven years." Hmm shouldn't couldn't remember exactly at the moment. "It possibly has been recently. The ministry had been destroyed a few years ago." Still it was interesting.
Her focus shifted towards Emmalee, "So you worked at the ministry before? Was it the same department?" Environmental was an interesting place to work she'd have to admit.

Emmalee smiled and gave a slight nod. "Yes, pleasure for me, as well." She laced her fingers together as she held her hands in front of her, listening intently to the woman. Yes, right, she'd heard about that. She rocked on her heels a little bit, wondering how it had slipped her mind.
"I did, yes," she replied. "I began in Education as an assistant, but when that department closed they sent me over to Environmental to handle import and export paperwork." She shrugged. It had been.. a job. But when she'd tried to advance beyond it and actually work with the plants, she'd hit a block. "What I really wanted to do was work in the greenhouses, but I didn't have the training. So I left, went to school, worked in some private greenhouses and, well, here I am!" She struck a bit of a pose, lifting her hands in a mock 'tada!' sort of wave.
"Seven years is quite the tenure here, I understand," she said, turning the conversation back to Victoria. So few people that Emmalee had met the last time were still around. Turnover certainly seemed high. "What were you doing before?"

Victoria listened as Emmalee spoke about her previous experience, "Why would that department close? It certainly is still needed with everything that goes on at that school." She sort of remembered that department from when her father worked at the ministry, but had actually forgotten about it until now. That's what they needed though, if that department was still up and running maybe the headmistress and the board would do more to keep students and staff safe. "Wow that's interesting, good for you working for what you wanted. Some just settle and that really isn't the way to go when you want something." She had learned that in the past six years.
"Oh? Well I guess it is, but I love what I do. The Sports office was perfect for me and has been very good to me." She thought about how she had moved up, though she couldn't help but think Mariel's promotion helped that more then her own talent, but she worked hard and knew she was good at the manager position. "Me? Oh, well let's see. I was a stay at home mom for the most part of my son's eight years. We lived in Australia with his father, I would help with a Uni's Gobstone group on occasion." That was always fun. "When my marriage didn't workout I moved my son and I here to be closer to family."
Glancing down at her watch she smiled at Emmalee, "It looks like I'm needed in a meeting soon. Finalizing opening matches for the new season." It was exciting to be part of the new Quidditch season every year. "It was nice to meet you." Always fun to meet a possible new friend.
