Minister's Office: Office of the Minister of Magic
Abandoned Building at 152 Whittaker StreetThe Minister's Office has temporarily relocated to this decrepit abandoned building. There are still plenty of charms in place to protect the Minister for Magic.
The Minister of Magic's Office is nothing like it should be. Upon entering you'll find several pieces of spare paper and everything else that seems to be falling off the walls. The electrical capability within this building has something be desired and with the overhead bulbs hanging the way they do you probably wouldn't want to give it a shot anyway. Not to worry, the windows to the side of the room are jarred into place making them impossible to close. They should provide enough light for the necessary signing of documents and the like.
The level of dust in the room is practically a sin, those with strong allergies will be advised to remain by the door and have conversations there. Occasionally a piece of the room will hurtle to the ground but it's not usually anything concerning and we're confident the roof will hold maybe.
Despite the look and feel of this place it is still not a free for all. To speak with the Minister of Magic you must first find the offices of his Undersecretaries and be guided from there. Bypassing this simple rule will result in having to walk all the way through the building in search of said Undesecretaries then walking all the way back. Save yourself the trouble. Get it right the first time.
Deciding it couldn't stay in that noisy room for another minute the Great Cormorant glided through the familiar tattered corridors and halls of her home. These funny creatures had taken up place here but she didn't remember giving them permisson. This was HERS.
The bird took a turn flying in through the non-existent door and settling on the rickety desk. This room was hers now. They could keep the other ones.
Sorry for lateness, but we are the first nevertheless hehe

...a thing.
A living thing not human in THIS VERY building where Joćo WORKED. Or TRIED to work, as it was getting less and less possible.
Joćo hated the place more and more, but he had always been a professional; so his face, eyes, body etc showed absolutely no signs of distress. Instead, he fearfully looked at the creature, and dared not enter, but he lurked by the door on edge. If it moved a feather...
WHERE was everyone? Was this a trap to see who came first, so that he would have to capture it?

After a swift look at the noticeboard, Lawrence headed into the Minister's Office immediately. He did not have anything else to do anyway. The way to the office seemed long and boring, with a few pieces of something occasionally falling down from the ceiling, and Lawrence could not help but stifle a yawn as he turned a corner. This hunting thing will be fun anyway.
Lawrence went through all spells and jinxes to get rid of creatures in his mind. He also considered what 'something' could be hiding in the offices. Nifflers, doxys? But what he did not expect to see in the office was...
A bird. A giant one too. Lawrence took an automatic step backwards and took out his wand. What now? Oh and there was one more person here too. Joćo. "Uh, hi." Lawrence said awkwardly. "What exactly is this thing?" He asked, though obviously this was not time for chit-chat.

This place was beyond hope, yes, he'd gotten that but he never thought things would come to this. Wasting valuable work time trying to get wildlife out of their work space. It was clear what had been hiding in his Office now but he would have been happier with it making little noises every now and then and staying there, not causing a hindrance to the Minister and thus to the entire Department.
Then there was all the extra time Gavin was forced to spend across town getting nets and cages from Creature Control. Something about animal rights, he wasn't really listening.
No harm would come to the bloody creature so long as it left peacefully.
Gavin made his way to the room, having everything they would need floating behind him but stopped a few steps short at the sight of Mr. Lee with his wand out. "That won't be necessary Mr. Lee." He said, announcing his presence and closing the gap between them with the last few steps. "The lighting in here isn't the best and I would hate for any of us to miss and hit a wall." These weren't magically reinenforced....were they getting the picture?
He would stick with his employees through several things. A collapsing building was NOT one of them. Ahem.
"Thanks for being so prompt. Have either of you seen any others coming?" Or should they just begin without them? This shouldn't be an all day event. There was work to be done.

Heather joined the small group had was already forming in the office of the Minister. She was actually only a step or two behind Gavin, but no need to point that out. She took in the sight and nodded. Okay then. Yeah. Bird. Big bird. She stood there next to Lawrence and caught the tail end of his question. "It's an inconvenience." After all, how was the Minister to get any work done with a giant bird perched in his office. However, she also knew that the answer she gave wasn't what he was looking for. She took in he bird real quick and made some mental notes. Hard to do with the lighting. It appeared to have webbed feet but it wasn't a duck, that was certain.

As soon as she found out about the emergency, Lavone headed towards the minster's office after tucking away the papers she was working on in a safe place. Because of the lack of cabinets and shelves it was harder to make sure all the important files stayed safe and out of reach.
Slowly, she stepped closer to the room pausing as she heard voices, or one. She wasn't the first to arrive it seemed.
The undersecretary's assistance entered avoiding any physical contact with the door's frame. Not that their was a door anyway.
She recognized the lot from the meeting as well as Mr.Isaacs himself of course and nodded at them acknowledging their presence. Her eyes then flickered to the creature on the desk. Ookay.
"I ... don't think I have seen it before," she answered watching the bird closely.

As everybody was rushing in towards the Minister's Office. Since reading that emergency in the Office of the Minister. He managed to write some memos and send it to the Reception area to post itself there stating the whereabouts of the whole crew.
He looks around and asked, "Mr Senior Undersecretary. How long has this been going?" he said nodding and smiling at everyone there.
There was already a group of employees standing in the doorway by the time Ezra arrived. He had gotten lost several times on the way there, not to mention the unbelievable number of cobwebs he had run into. He wiped his forehead with his cuff, leaving a streak of grime on the bright white fabric. "Oh, hello Mr. Isaacs. You said there was an emergency?"
And then he saw it. A huge bird sat on the dusty surface of the desk. What was that thing?
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
Their numbers were slowly increasing. The bird didn't stand a chance. If it knew what was good for it, it would leave quietly, but he would say it didn't, not with the way it was just sitting there sizing them up. It was like it was trying to find the perfect angle to attack his face from. ScaryThoughtMovingOn. Ahem.
"She's right, it is an inconvenience." He said, nodding toward the bird in case there was anyone that might have been clueless about the LARGE bird on the table. It couldn't stay, naturally, not when the Minister needed to work. "I don't believe you've seen it either Ms. Calverley, it's been in hiding in my office til this morning. I tried my hand at moving a few things around and out it flew." He should have left the broken cupboard alone. Lesson learned.
"I'm not certain how long Mr. McMillan. Don't reckon that's important either. It's here and we need to get rid of it." That should have answered Mr. Bellamy's question as well. The bird. The bird was the emergency.
He cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. "I've acquired for us a few nets and cages. The bird shouldn't be harmed and at no point should anyone be using magic. The walls aren't to be held in the best confidence and a misfire could prove detrimental. It should be an easy enough task, nothing we need outside help with. I have full faith in you all." Gavin handed each of them nets and cages then nodded toward the bird.
Have at it.

It seemed more answered to the call of duty which was a good thing. Because team work was the best and it was good to know that people here didn't hesitate to help.
Lavone took a step closer to Mr.Isaacs allowing more room for those who joined them. Better if no one leaned against a wall or something. Everything seemed at the verge of falling.
Her eyes were fixed on the bird watching it to make sure it didn't do anything out of the blue and if it did then to dock in time. "Oh, I thought I had heard something earlier," she said referring to the senior undersecretaries' office. She however hadn't said anything about it. Someone who hears weird sounds wasn't something pleasant to be known for in during the first months of starting a new job. Good to know it hadn't been her imaginary activated by the haunting surroundings.
Next thing she knew, she was holding a net and a cage. Oookay. She somehow hadn't expected such tasks at the job but then again she hadn't expected the state of the work area.
"I suppose someone should approach it really slowly," She suggested while making no move. She'd not mind if someone disagreed with her on that.

Ezra took the net and cage gingerly from his boss. He stared at the bird's beady eyes, waiting for someone to do or say something. Anything, really, to break the silence.

Ezra swallowed. That someone would certainly not be him. His dislike of anything wild immediately overpowered his desire to prove himself. He continued to stand there, and feeling utterly useless he chanced a deep breath and nodded, "Er, yes. Yes, that sounds like a good idea."
There. He had contributed...ish.
There they came. Couldn't leave the bird be. She was trying to get away from them and had found a darker place than the first but the feather-less creatures were following her. They were all at the door. The door was okay and away from her territory. They would do well to stay out there.
WHHAAAT?
She saw one move. Go away.
"SQUAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!" Her wings flapped up in a threatening manner and the feathers on the back of her neck rose as she tried getting them to leave. This. Was. HERS.

Heather nodded at the idea that someone should try to approach it, but really, it shouldn't just be one person because what good would that do? None. In fact, it could hinder things a bit. "We ALL should approach it slowly. Well, except for one person. Someone needs to stay by the door to ensure she doesn't take off hiding in another room. Then, that way if one person misses then another could try. Kind of half circling the bird incase she is missed by the first person." It would put the in more of a V formation, but she wasn't going to point that out.
She held the net and the weight wasn't too much and she was certain with a toss of it, it could land on the bird, but some back up would be nice. With a sigh she took the initiative to take the first step, hoping they would actually form the half circle that she had mentioned.

Oh! That was loud. She cocked her head to the right and glared at the bird but not moving back. She wasn't the girly type and she wasn't going to take an order from a bird. As the wings flapped, she took another step and shifted the net in her hands. She didn't put herself close enough to be bitten but she was making a slow advanced. Oh, please let them be following her.

Gavin definitely wasn't above leading by example. They seemed a bit hesitant on the uptake and it was understandable, the bird looked terrifying--vicious was more like it so he kept a cage and net in hand ready to take this thing down and have it returned to anywhere but here.
He was impressed by the initiative Ms. Malfoy was displaying and sought to offer backup but then.....see.........
IT WAS A DEMON BIRD!!
Do you know what kind of damage those things could do to a person's face?? Clawing away at the perfection that he'd been born with, leaving marks his mother would never recognize!!! Noooooo thank you, nope. Gavin took a LARGE step back at the flaring up of the bird because no (and really how many times did he need to say no?) the Senior Undersecretary could not, he couldn't, it wasn't possible.
Eyes on everyone else. They had far less to lose, why weren't they after the bird like their colleague? He would stand here and watch unless absolutely needed but Merlin he hoped it wouldn't come to THAT.
"Think she might need some help." Hint hint wink wink nudge NUDGE. This SO wasn't in his job description.

So her idea wasn't a crazy and silly one? Snap! She'd hoped it would turn out to be so. However, Heather's opinion made sense, because why should only one take the risk and advance. So Lavone nodded agreeing and took when step forwards just as the bird started flapping its wings.
Not a good sign, at all.
Faltering, the blond held her ground for a couple of minutes then took another step in the bird's direction encouraged by her colleague. Definitely not her boss. Was he planning on staying back? She didn't remember deciding that he was the one to guard the door. Not that she'd say anything, might as well play hero and try to impress a bit. Hopefully it wouldn't end up with her in St.Mungo's.
Inching to other side of where Heather was, she decided to cover more ground. Like to semi-circle the bird. All while avoiding its eyes that promised no good. "Maybe one should handle the net and the other the cage?" she suggested glancing down at her hands that held both. She couldn't work with both at the same time.

Well, sorry Mr. Isaacs, but HE wasn't ruining his face too, so he didn't take a step back or forward, but just watched it and asked the most logical question on Earth: "Why don't we call someone from the Creatures Department and lock this room magically until they come?"

Aha! Yes, yes please. Ezra was struck by the sudden urge to hug the man who had recommended that approach, fully aware that he had no recollection of his name. No, no. He would stay cool. He turned to stare at the Senior Undersecretary to scope his reaction. Please say yes. Please say yes.

Heather smiled, surprised that someone was actually following her lead. She nodded and held out her own net taking another small baby step forward. "I'll hand the net if you handle the cage." After all, she hadn't bothered to carry her cage this far. She was fairly certain that with one good throw of the net, she could get the bird, if it would just stop flapping it's wings.
SPOILER!!: Men

Heather turned and glared at him but not fully taking her attention off the bird in front of her. She liked her good looks as much as the next person, but she was a fighter and she wasn't scared and they had already been told something important to this task. "At no point should anyone be using magic. I'm pretty sure those were the words spoken when we were handed the nets and cages and that's how we will do things." Her voice had a cool edge to it and she turned her attention back to the bird. Why were the men such scared little children? Shouldn't they be the ones jumping into the face of danger to protect the women?

Lawrence, holding a net and cage, was grinning from ear to ear at what Joćo had said. He looked eagerly around, but the balloon inside his heart deflated at Heather's speech. Thank you, Heather. Now they had no excuse but to get working.
"I'll stay by the door." Lawrence spoke up at last. "To make sure that this thing does not fly out, that is." This was what Heather had mentioned earlier, and no one had volunteered for it, so... Lawrence headed to the door and stood there like a security guard. He checked for his wand in his pocket again, just in case. At least maybe it was safer here.

Either she was awfully brave or there were other risks that she didn't know of. Or those three men were real cowards. One of those statements had to be true in order for all the reactions to make sense. Although, it did look like a vicious bird, it didn't struck her to be THAT dangerous. Did they know something about the bird that got them to not help in capturing it.
And they got another one to guard the door. She wanted to point out that they'd rather have someone cover more distance in case the bird flew.
But she didn't let her focus crack on that. Or on the Minister's Assistance's question. Heather got the hang of that, anyway.

Back to business. With a nod towards her companion, Lavone dropped her net to the floor making sure not to cause any sudden movement that might set the bird off. Now that she only had the cage in her hands, she got a good hold of it and angled it so the door of the cage was facing the bird's direction. Making things easy and all. It occurred to her that it'd be loads easier if they could just lure the bird into the cage. But that would require lots of time and knowledge about what the creature liked and disliked. "I got the cage," she told Heather making it known that she was on the plan. Were the rest having a good time watching? Or maybe the show hadn't really started yet. Since the bird hadn't moved.

By the sounds of it more plans were being made, or rather, additions to the plan made by Ms. Malfoy and he was in full agreement of them all going along with it. His eyes shifted to Mr. Lawrence who'd volunteered himself for the door Gavin was about to occupy. No matter, he could stand at this safe distance, it wouldn't have been a remarkable issue.
What would become an issue was Mr. Neves mentioning not only the use of spells but also the involvement of an entirely different Department then Mr. Bellamy giving him hopeful looks as if he'd expected that to actually work. He was not impressed
"Thank you Ms. Malfoy." For giving the right answer so he wouldn't have to. "There is no reason to get the members of Level Four involved. This is a bird, a mundane one at that. I find it hard to believe we would need to pull out all the stops just to cage it." Surely it couldn't have been that hard as terrifying as the idea seemed when you considered the size of the claws on that thing. His face was not ready for this.
Thank Merlin for the women who'd taken then initiative. He wouldn't even be glancing back at the men, all looking for a way out. If needed, he would step in, but they didn't all need to attack the bird. "I'll need someone by that window over there so it doesn't escape." The point was to get rid of it, not have it fly outside and wait for them to leave before coming back.

Doing research about certain magical creatures around the world will not be as heavy and as bad as this one. Zach had been to more dangerous tasks than catching this mundane bird of some sort.
Zach moved slowly away from the ranks of wizards and witches and moved towards the door motioning his intent to everybody.
He walk slowly and gently as to not startle the bird and made sure that he is not making any noises as he move towards the window.
Joćo didn't even appreciate her courage. What was she trying to do there while he tried to SAVE them? Get a shortcut raise? In case she didn't notice, they were in a POLITICAL department. And her tone! HER TONE! Joćo wanted to GLOWER at her and remind her that she was basically in a lower position than him (how she had just come and all), but Mr. Isaacs was there, so his face, eyes, body, etc. showed absolutelyNO traces of his annoyance. If anything, he looked sad that Mr. Isaacs agreed with her.
...mundane. In case Mr. Isaacs failed to notice, it had WINGS, A BEAK and CLAWS. That was no mundane! Joćo again kept silent, though. He knew it was pointless to argue more. But he wasn't ready to risk anything at all either, so he stood where he was, inside the room but by the door, and he WOULD use his wand if that thing flew onto him.
The bird's keen eyes kept watch as the creatures moved. Did she think they couldn't see? These eyes were prized for the prey they helped her spot and later catch from great distances away. She remained focus, intent on them.
With a hop and a skip the bird was to the further side of the desk. Those nets looked familiar, she wasn't trying to get near one.
And another moving to other side. The window was for escaping NOT being blocked. Her wings remained high up, her warning still stood. Stay away.
