This broomstick, Draco, is the best available in the market at this moment. It has an unbreakable braking charm, and - you are not listening, boy!"

The son placed his spoon on the table, and looked up across the dining table. "I am, father," he said calmly. Calmly, but coldly.

Their gazes met - both perfectly calm, both perfectly cold, enemies for once united against a common foe - and neither broke the contact. Narcissa touched her husband's forearm.

"Everything Malfoy -" Lucius's gaze did not falter - "Is the best, the most flawless, the most immaculate."

"Indeed." Draco inclined his head. "Your reputation must be the only exception."
