Rex wasn't in a great mood as he returned rather early from the European Cup that was being held in Novgorod. He knew that his franticly scribbled owl to Gina Latorta didn't make sense - well, except for the words 'wards wore off.'
The tournament was abruptly cancelled and all teams sent home via portkey. However, he stayed behind as the investigation began and only left after gathering enough information so that he could start handling damage control back in the UK and he knew that the morning papers would report on the disaster.
KNOCK. KNOCK.
"Gina, are you in there!" Rex called out to her closed door.
