Typical.
"Yeah he's totally right, you know," Fletcher nodded a little and gave Melanie a shrug. "Why don't you go on vacation somewhere or come visit your way awesome friends who are going to get a job in Diagon Alley?"
Whups, had he let that slip? HEH. Fletcher turned back toward Treyen and winked. "THAT is what I'm doing, LiL Lockhart." Funny how the two Lockharts always ended up arguing like siblings even if they weren't related. Er, were they related? Nah Fletcher would have remembered that detail about his Puffs... surely.
"I got a job at Gringott's for the summer, as an intern of sorts." An intern with aspirations to be the awesomest cursebreaker who ever did live, duh. "You guys should all come see me at work over break!!" That would be SWEEEET as long as they didn't lose him his job.
Because now that Fletcher had a bit of money, he was rather attached to it and rather pleased at the prospects of more money rolling in with work. So none of them (or anyone, for that matter) had better do anything to interfere with his income. We all know how the GlitterPuff likes to deliver messages with his fists....

Oh, of course Treyen would be the mature one to say never mind and end the argument. Meh.
"Yes." Melanie just nodded, trying to be patient. She was talking right now.
On a more positive note, "Dumbo, the flying elephant, of course! You've never heard of him?" Poor, deprived Treyen. Hehe. "He's in a muggle movie- an animated one. See, his ears were really big so everyone made fun of him and he was isolated. Dumbo's only friend was Timothy the Mouse. Timothy stood up for him and told him to value his differences. One day Dumbo found out that his oversize ears gave him the ability to fly- They acted like wings." Melanie smiled slightly to herself, her mood a little better. There was more to the story, but that was the main plot of it.
She nodded some more when he said he wouldn't use a dragon either. "I doubt a dragon would be willing to take someone on a trip around the world." They did have different habitats they were used to. "It would probably dump you off in the middle of the Atlantic." After it got tired of him telling it it didn't smile enough or something. "No, I'd go with a broom." Melanie had to grin. Oh her broom. How she missed it.
Make one? "I don't think I could." she replied, shrugging off the thought. She didn't know enough about stuff like that.
Annnnnnnnnnd, back to Fletcher.
He was supposed to agree with her! No fair! "Actually, I was just planning a trip around the world. Possibly on an elephant. A spur of the moment thing, really." Melanie joked, grinning. Wait... what did he just say...?
Her eyes grew wider as he explained, as did her grin. "Oh my gosh! No way!" Melanie exclaimed. "I mean... not no way as in I won't come see you but no way as in... well, you know, surprise! That's AWESOME, Fletcher! I'll visit you for sure!" she assured him brightly, with a matter-oh-fact nod. Melanie always went to Gringott's before school shopping anyway.
Good. End of argument. But you know, that's what Treyen was talking about, because she could be influencing people to be sad by simply talking about summer.
Yeah, never mind.
A half-blood boy, who was pretty much raised seeing a lot of the Wizarding world and little of the Muggle one was bound not to know about Dumbo.
Dumbo, huh? It would be an understatement to say that the boy's face was a complete mixture of confusion and wonder. He was beyond confusion and wonder. Muggles were so inventive, weren't they?
"I've never seen an elephant fly...nor dragons either, but it sounds as if the Muggles got that story from seeing one of our creatures do so, no?" his tone was a chipper one for sure, because Melanie's mood was improving.
"Timothy sounds more interesting than Dumbo, though." it sounded like a movie he wouldn't watch, but he'll try to do so just for the mouse.
Now we're talking!
"You know, Melanie, it doesn't really matter how fun the means of transportation are..." and sometimes Treyen sounded smart,
"...but what you do when you arrive." he thought planes were fun, but not everyone thought so.
"But I guess making the journey fun is a plus." soooo, no brooms. Those were for Quidditch and for running away from creepy flying creatures, like flying elephants.
And then...
...beam. Treyen was beaming. The reason? Ha, Fletcher said he was right. Take that Melanie!
But, hold it. The boy blinked, blinked, blinked. Diagon Alley? Fletcher was going to be working at...
"Gringotts?! That's brilliant!" Goblins weren't the bright side, but it was sooooo awesome. Awesome, like Fletcher. His eyes lit up,
"Of course! We'll go." and then he eyed Melanie,
"Er, well, I'll go." it's not like he was going the same day she was, right? If her summer had been fun, then he'd have no problem, but he wasn't meeting her to hear her complain.
"Do you know what you'll be doing, Sir Fletcher?" he asked, and his eyes flickered between the Durmstrang girl and Fletcher. Visitations were going to be plenty, no?
