He wanted to point out how disappointed he was about losing a book to the guy, and how he really wanted it back, but that made him sound just a liiiiiiiiiittle too nerdy.
As his fingers fumbled ever so slightly with the wrapper, Daniel spoke again. "I couldn't really do anything to defend myself. He caught me with Crucio first, which can't be blocked, and so I was distracted my the pain so he got my face."
Biting a chocolate leg off of his chocolate frog (on the good side of his face), Daniel shrugged. It was like... he didn't like that it seemed he failed at protecting himself.
Anita gave him one last squeeze before releasing him. Looking around she plopped down in the floor and patted an area beside her and said, "
Come, sit down for a moment and we will talk. There are no others here, are there?" She glanced around and didn't spot anyone right away so she smiled.
"
Well that is good then. I hear your Aurors are some of the best in the world. They will surely catch the person that did this," she said soothingly. Thinking for a moment she made a Hmmm noise and then her face lit up a little, "
Do you own a foeglass? If not you should get one and place it where you can see it from your counter." That was the best she had... her expertise was not in protection spells or the like.
She smiled at him sadly and shook her head, "
I am quite sure that no one expects to be attacked in their own shop and because of that you can't blame yourself, dear. I hear the Cruciatus Curse is no laughing matter. I am sure if you could have protected yourself you would have done so." She smiled wider still when he opened the chocolate frog.
