Super Slytherin Buddy | | ⅓ She-Snake Trio | | a normal girl with normal knees

Evelyn didn't like this final. Not because that it was Transfiguration, and it was really down near Astronomy on her skills list, but the fact that her shoes, socks, and skirt were getting muddy. Not to mention it felt as if it were winter time again. Winter time and she had this measly sweater. Awesome.

Sucking in a breath, the Slytherin stopped holding onto her desk with a death grip, and slowly made her way over to the scraps of fabric on the…other side of the room. This was an extremely long walk! There was no way she was going to slip in the mud and snow. Stupid, weather, spells. Pffft. Finally making it over though, moving a bit quicker as she got nearer considering there were desks nearby now that she could hang onto for dear life, Evelyn smiled as she bent down and grabbed one of the pieces of fabric. It was yellow, but she didn’t care! "Diffindo." She muttered, slicing the piece in half easily. Nuuuu! The other half landed in the mud! Ugghhhh. Scowling as she picked it up, she didn't even attempt to clean the thing, mostly because, she once again…could not remember the cleaning spells. At least the dark mud covered most of the ugly yellow color. "Manus Letrom." Creating a small circular flick of her wand, the pieces of yellow fabric twisted, weaved, and hardened into a pair of leather gloves, thankfully the right size for her hands. Maybe a bit larger, but really, that didn’t matter. She just wanted something on her hands that would keep them from freezing.

Sliding the gloves on her hands as she looked around at the materials they were able to use to make this shelter thing and she was SO ready to create the fire, the Slytherin sighed more from the annoyance of the task as she carefully made her way over to the potted trees. As she did so, she started to think up the outline of what she wanted her shelter to look like, counting how many nails she needed, blankets, boards, and anything else that she could possibly use for this. Moving to a corner a the room, so she had enough room to build this thing, the Slytherin levitated two potted plants one at a time towards her area. "Wingardium Leviosa." At least she knew she wouldn't fail at a simple swish and flick spell. It was too bad this wasn't a Charms final.

With the two trees situated where she wanted them to be, her eyes gazed around the room once more, taking in where the other materials were. Since she had already figured out and counted how much she needed, it was easy enough to get what she wanted. The hard part was...walking...which she decided to just scoot her feet on the ground to push the mud and snow out of the way instead. Ohhhh it was extremely cold and dirty, but the faster she got this done, the faster she could get out!

Holding everything she needed in her hands, save for the worms since those were in the potted plants, Evelyn finally made her way back over to her area and let all those leaves, shoelaces, and piece of fabric down onto the muddy ground. Mwaha! Shifting through the pile, sorting out each piece until she had three nice and organized piles, Evelyn stood up and placed her hands on her hips, nodding at her work so far. Good, now with all the materials assembled, she could start building this thing.

SPOILER!!: building the shelter
Looking at the items, she decided that she might as well start with the poles and boards first since they were the most difficult at the moment. She just learned the spells not ten minutes ago! While they weren’t perfected, they were good enough at the moment. Moving over to the potted trees, the Slytherin stared at the two of them before sighing. Eh, those weren’t what she needed. Frowning, her eyes trailed over her items as she placed her hands on her hips. Well! It seems she had forgotten something. Carefully maneuvering her way over to the pile of tree branches, Evelyn picked up the two biggest ones before moving back over to her area. There, now she could start creating the poles. "Wingardium Leviosa." She muttered with a swish and with a simple "Fixate" moments after, she paused for a moment before speaking again. "Palus." With a simple flick of her wand, she watched the tree branch straighten out and turn smooth. Or, mostly smooth. Huh.

Lowering the branch back to the ground, Evelyn repeated the exact procedure on the second gnarled tree branch as she did to the first, resulting in a practically smooth pole. Mwa! Regardless that it was a bit shorter than the first, she was just proud that she got it right. Did everyone see that!? No? Good, she didn’t want their spying eyes over in her area anyways. With the second pole being placed on the muddy floor next to the first, the Slytherin started towards her pile of leaves, making sure not to break any. Alright so, she needed eight boards for the bottom, and four boards the sides. Soooo many boooaards…

Bending down, she placed one of the fabric pieces she had acquired down on the ground in front of herself before placing her knees on it. She was at least going to try and get out of her somewhat clean. Taking one of the leaves, she placed that too down in front of herself before creating a horizontal line with her wand and saying, "Temran Madera." As the leaf shook and stretched, and changed color somewhat to what she had in mind, the fourth year girl was starting to actually enjoy this. Mostly because of the fact that her spells were not failing terribly like she had expected them to; and also it could be because of the fact that she totally forgot the professor was still in the room. The fewer eyes on her, the more confident she would be. Now to just do this… eleven more times.

And eleven times later, there were finally twelve boards sitting in front of her; some more normal looking than others. Alright, this so wasn’t fun anymore. It was annoying actually. But with the annoying task done, she could move on to the next task and be closer to finishing right? RIGHT! And that lucky next task was making nails, which meant she had to find worms. Ehhhh. Frowning, Evelyn turned her gaze over to potted tree closest to her, her almost black looking eyes staring at the dark soil in the pot. Well, she did have gloves on but…nah. Forget the worms. Looking up to the branches on the tree, she reached up her hand and picked off the smaller twigs to use for this oh so tedious task.

With enough in her hands, having had to move on to the second tree to find smaller twigs again, she put them on the fabric that she used for her knees before picking one up and moving it away from the others. Sooo….right. Nail! Turn into…a NAIL! "Tacque." With a flick of her wand, she resisted the urge to squeeze her eyes shut. Besides, she would be rather disappointed if she had! It…it was a nail! Her eyes stared at the little piece of success, just daring it to do something, whether it be to suddenly wilt or turn brown like the twig, but apparently it didn’t have any other plans. Creating twenty three more nails, some having which she had to quickly change the color of to a dark gray juuuust so it wouldn’t be so obvious that they were the color of the twigs they were, Evelyn breathed out a long breath when she finally finished.

With the nails done, she could FINALLY start building and then get out of here. Scooting a board closer to herself, and also grabbing one of the poles, she maneuvered the pole so it was laying sturdy in her lap and she could connect the board to it. First step to the amazing hut, house, shelter, thing! "Malleus." Holding up one of the nails, she hammered the thing into the board where the pole connected to it, using her wand. This was actually mighty useful now that she realized. So much better than using that muggle hammer. Hammering a second nail into the board as well next to the first, she tested the strength out before being satisfied about it. That pole is going nowhere. WOooot!

One pole down, one more to go. Pushing the connect board and pole to the side, she pulled another board and the second remaining pole closer and did the exact same steps. Hammering the nails into the board, connecting the pole, and voilŕ! Two poles down! Smiling, the Slytherin started to pull one board closer after the other, using a sticking charm to stick them together. No need in using nails when you have handy dandy magic with you. As she got her base of the floor finished, Evelyn scooted herself onto it so she didn't have to be in the mud anymore. Besides, it was easier to work like this. No slipping and sliding and utter annoyance of being muddy.

Picking up the pieces of fabric, she almost forgot the spell needed, or what she wanted in other words. Leather kept popping up in her mind, but she didn't want that! "Vestis cotone." she said with a rather curly-q wand movement. As the fabric stretched and weaved itself into a blanket, almost looking similar to what the leafs did while being transfigured into boards, her hands ran over the material to make sure it was somewhat decent. Yea, it was alright. A thick blanket was all she needed and it was certainly big enough. Four more! Just like this. With four more Vestis cotone's being said, and curly-q wand motions all over the place, she had three blankets, in her opinion, good enough for her shelter. Lucky them.

Grabbing another nail, the Slytherin raised an end of a blanket up to the top of the first pole before hammering the nail into the blanket, and into the pole. That...was rather difficult, but she finally got the nail to go through and stay where it should be. Stretching the blanket towards the back, she hammered to more nails into the base of her shelter so the blanket covered the back. And finally, with one more nail into the other pull, holding the other side of the blanket up, she had a backside of her shelter ready. Doing something similar with the two other blankets on the side of shelter, the third blanket she attacked to the poles, yet kept the bottom free and unattached. Which is where the vine came in! "Cordage creatus." A rather slight smirk appeared on her lips as the vine shimmered into a sturdy rope. No trouble with that spell. Tying off the blanket to a pole almost giving her shelter a 'theater' effect, the Slytherin crossed her arms and stared at her handiwork. There was a blanket left mostly for warmth purposes, and everything seemed to be just fine. Didn't look like the poles were going to topple over or nothing.

Which meant, the FUN PART! *flail* Turning around, a wide grin on her face, she made an 'X' in the air using her wand and said quite clearly, "Focalia." Teehee, LOOKIT! She was getting rather good at this firewood spell. Her wood pieces were twice as big and a didn't look like flimsy sticks anymore. Before the mud could make them too wet and unusable though, Evelyn quickly pointed her wand towards the pieces, obviously a bit over excited about the prospect of seeing FIRE! "Incendio!" LET THERE BE LIGHT!

As the light of the fire lit of her eyes, Evelyn stared at the burning flames as they steadily grew to a decent height for twiggy wood pieces giving it its fuel. Was she done? Mmhmm, she was, but she wanted to stare at the fire some more.

She did happen to glance back to her shelter like creation for a moment before turning back to the orange flames though. Good, nothing was close enough to catch fire. Mwaha! LOOKIT THE FLAMES! Teehee.

It didn't take long before she did get too cold and wanted out of the classroom. Not to mention she was muddy and needed a shower. A warm shower. Sounded rather nice at the moment. Must leeaaavvee!
