Too many threads but ill post my review here as well.

I guess im one of the early ones. Ok, um here goes.

Although im not a Potter fanatic like some others as i have not actually read the books. I have read up on the last two installments from the web with random quotes from the book. So with that said i have to say (im preparing to get flamed for this, lol) that if i had to give it a grade it would have to be about a C+ or B- but leaning more towards average.

My biggest issue is i dont think Yates got enough emotion out of Emma or Rupert this time out. Especially when dealing with their relationship and the turmoils that it causes. I think Emma gave more emotion in HBP after seeing the Lavender/Ron kissing scene. It just felt absent or almost non existent. The part of not only when Ron leaves but returns just didnt have the kind of impact that ive read from quoted material from the book so it felt very empty.

And furthering that problem to me is the dancing scene between Harry and Hermione in the tent. It didnt seem like a brother trying to cheer a sister up and came across more as flirtation and desire. I will say that the smokey scene with Harry and Hermione from the Horcrux was done beautifully and if Daniel and Emma dated in real life the chemistry looked solid and very believable. I can only hope the scene with Hermione and Ron is equally as convincing.

There were some great scenes despite my being letdown in the Ron/Hermione dept. The scenes involving Dobby were excellent and the lighter moments (although sometimes misplace in my opinion) with the trio were pretty funny. I got a real kick when early in the film when George sneaked up on Harry and Ginny kissing in the kitchen. Loved it! Also, Bellatrix and Lucius performed very well (forgive me forgetting their names at the moment). One thing that was interesting was i had initially read on here and elsewhere that at the wedding Hermione and Victor Krum were supposed to share a dance. Well, that scene didnt make the cut i guess which again was kind of disappointing to me.

All in all the film was ok, the action was good when it was there but felt a little forced too much and seemed to leave more out than it should have. I know they have limitations on how long the movie can be but even just a half hour more probably would of benefitted the film better. If there ever was a case for me to read the books this film would be the reason why. I just hope that Pt 2 rebounds and ends the film series nicely.
