Hogwarts RPG Name: Robin Mitchells First Year | Chapter 8 Harry’s POV Even after Ron left, I didn’t try to go after Ginny. Call me a coward, but really, would you want to mess with Ginny? I didn’t think so. I paced more. I did the laundry(without magic), I cooked, I cleaned. And most important, I hid any sharp objects or any object at all that might have glass, just incase she might not grab it and throw it in a fit of rage. But I promised myself something: Neither of us will go to sleep tonight mad. Or hurt.
And just as soon as I was done, she came bursting through our door. I flinched, but when she walked up to me, she didn’t say anything or do anything. She put her hand on her hips and looked me straight in the eyes. They did all the talking for her.
You’ve got some explaining to do.
I didn’t back down. I looked right back at her, and our eyes locked. I took a hold of her hand, and walked her to the living room. And all the while she never talked.
“Just hear me out okay? I’ll explain everything.” I said.
“I hope you do.” She said, her voice faint. “Because if you don’t, it will only make things worse.” She told me, not looking at me, but at her hands, and then her tummy. And without warning, I felt such guilt by what I put her through.
“I’m sorry I’ve been freaking out. I’m sorry I’ve been acting like such a jerk.” I said softly. “But I really am excited. What kind of a person would I be if I wasn’t? I was just….in shock. And…worried.” I added slowly. Ginny looked at me.
“What is there to be worried about, Harry?” She asked me.
“Everything.” I answered. “But mostly that history will repeat itself.” I said, hoping she understood. It hurt enough to think about it. Saying it out loud will make it seem more real. And still, to my dismay, she looked confused.
“I’m sorry. I don’t see what you’re getting at.” She said, her eyebrows furrowed.
I closed my eyes and took a big breath. “What if something goes wrong? What if they have to go through what I went through?” I told her. And instantly her expression softened.
“Harry, all this work will not go to waste. People won’t die for no reason. There won’t be another Voldemort.” She told me. And I found out she partially understood my point. But I shook my head still.
“That’s not the only problem. I’m glad there won’t be another Voldemort. But…I don’t want my kids growing up as orphans just as I did. I don’t want them to suffer.” I told her. The thing that has been bothering me for days was finally revealed. And it was hard finally realizing that this was one of the things I would never have control over. Ginny gave me a slight smile. “You won’t have to worry about that, love. Our children will not suffer. With or without us. They will be fine.” She told me reassuringly.
In time I would believe it, and although she convinced me to some extent, I still had that nagging feeling. “So you forgive me?” I asked.
“Of course I forgive. And you do know you could’ve told me that in the first place, right? Every one had fears, you’re only human.” She told me.
“Yea, I know, but I’m still sorry. For everything I put you through.”
“Don’t worry about it, Love. Everything’s better now that I know.” She told me. And then she looked around, and probably just started noticing the differences. “Harry, were we robbed? Oh my gosh, the house looks…vacant!” She said.
“Oh…yea, about that, I sort of…cleaned.” I told her.
“Cleaned? This went above and beyond cleaning, Harry! Where’s that face Aunt Muriel gave us? Where’s everything?” She asked me. Clearly I didn’t understand why she would even mention Aunt Muriel’s vase, it wasn’t all that nice anyways, and I didn’t really like that woman.
“Oh, yeah, well, I kinda…hid anything sharp.”
“Sharp? Why sharp?” She asked.
“Well…” I said, my gaze faltering and scratching behind me neck even though it didn’t need to be scratched. “Well, in case you were mad. Like, really mad.” I said, trying to put it the best way possible(actually, the way that was less likely to get me killed). But sadly, it didn’t work. She still took it the wrong way. Again. Color started to appear in her checks, and she got up and put her hands on her hips.
“You mean if I had a fit, right?” She said. “Wow, so I’m really that bad? I get angry one time and you hide everything sharp as if I’m a living tornado and I destroy everything in my path, including you! Is that it?” She screamed. I was about to mention that this was about the fifth time she had a fit since I’ve been here, but I decided against it.
“No, Ginny, that’s not what I meant! You’re taking it way to seriously.” I said.
“Oh so I’m too dramatic, too serious. You want me to lighten up? Fine, I will. Oh, let’s go out, let’s have a party! Despite the fact that I have a baby on the way, I’ll just be careful and unserious. Does that make you happy now, Harry?” Oh. My. Gosh. She’s gone way past mad.
“No. Please calm down.”
“I am calm!”
“No, you’re not. Ginny, love, just please calm down. Didn’t mean for you to take it like that, alright?” I said, and when she finally stopped to listen, I walked up to her and put an arm around her. “I know this is hard for you, because it is for both of us. But I need you to breath.”
“I’m breathing, Dr. Potter.” She said, and I ignored her sarcasm.
“Good. That’s good. That’s a step in the right direction. Now come on, you must be exhausted, let’s sit down.”
“I don’t want to sit down.” She said, standing stiffly and as hard as stone.
“Really?” I said. “Because I think it ought to do me some good. Is it getting hot in here? C‘mon, lets sit down.”
“I don’t want to sit down. I want to lie down.” She told me, and with my arm still around her, I walked her to our room.
“That’s perfect. Now c’mon.”
“Harry, I’m really sorry. You were right, I’m going overboard.”
“Oh, don’t worry about it, love. It’s normal, I’m sure.”
“You’re just saying that.” She said.
“Yes I am.”
“Harry!”
“I mean, no I’m not.” I said quickly. And to my surprise she didn’t have another outburst. Instead, she smiled.
************************************************** **** Ginny’s POV I had a bright light shining on me. Really bright. I had a horrible headache, and my whole body hurt. I opened my eyes, squinting to the light shining directly on me, and looked at my surroundings. I saw Dr. Vizor look down on me, and give me a wide smile.
“Congratulations.” He said, holding something bundled up in his hands. “It’s a boy.” And with that, he gently handing me the baby. Rather light, I could tell. It was odd. The baby smiled at me. But it wasn’t a normal smile.
It was huge….with teeth. Actually, more like fangs. For a split second, I saw its eyes flicker red, and then back to normal.
“Feed me, mommy.” It said. It’s voice was so sweet. So I smiled at him, and held its hand softly. And then it spoke again. “Mommy, I said ‘FEED ME!’” With a voice much lower than the first time. And the next thing I know, it take a hold of my thumb, and its grip was surprisingly strong. And it opens its mouth and bites me, its fangs sinking into my thumb, sucking up my blood with pleasure.

“Ginny, wake up! Its not real.” I heard Harry say, and I woke up with a start.
“Where am I?” Was the first thing I asked.
“Home. Calm down.” Harry said, running his hands through me hair. “It was just a dream. One question, though.” He paused for a second. “Were you dreaming about Twilight?”
“Uhhh…no Harry. Pshhh, w-why w-would you think that?” I asked.
“I specifically remember you screaming ‘aaaaah evil vampire baby.’”
“Oh. That.”
“Ginny, you can’t be serious. The man sparkles. They sparkle.” He said, his voice incredulous.
“Harry, is it me, or does Edward look a lot like Cedric Diggory?”
“Yea, I know, I realized that too. But c’mon, Cedric could beat Edwards butt. Merlin’s beard, he sparkles!” He said, walking out of the room along the way.
I exhaled when he did, not even realizing that I was holding my breath. That dream was really creepy. Not the whole vampire thing, but because even I wasn’t sure if I was ready for a baby. But the time would come, ready or not. |
