Melanie bit her lip nervously as the Professor explained what the final would consist of. To her, it sounded kind of fun... but difficult, too. She hadn't gotten the second spell down yet so, shivering a little from the cold air, she raised her wand once more. "Reverto." And the branch was a branch again. Closing her eyes, Melanie thought of what she wanted the branch to do again. Then she opened opened them, and looked down at it. "Palus." she said, flicking her wand at the branch.

This time, it worked. Sitting in front of her, across her desk, was a smooth wooden pole. Third time's a charm. Well, a transfiguration, actually.
