James slouched in his seat and perved on Marie a bit, but mostly he was thinking about all the little tips that the professor had dished out to the kids that were having trouble or asking questions. He filed them away and cast reverto on his leaf!board, ready to try again. Once it was a leaf again he focused his attention on the leaf, wondering if the kind of leaf effected the kind of wood. Like, would an oak leaf turn into a maple board and vice versa? Would it make it easier or anything like that if it was the same kind of tree? He thought about the length and the thickness and slouched in his seat even more, then he cast on his leaf again. Temran madera.
This time he was satisfied with the length of it and gave it a little quiet knock. Yep. Sturdy. Would it float? All the same properties of actual wood? Aside from the whole not permanent thing?
He wondered if it was spells like this that were the sort of thing that allowed for fake wands and all. That'd be pretty dangerous, he supposed.
Now for the other spell. Making poles. Flick and Palus? Jimmy listened attentively, even though he wasn't looking at the professor and apparently was bored or distracted or both.
You could probably use that one for fishing, right? He concentrated on what the pole ought to look like and then...
Nyeeehhhh.
Jimmy cringed, his ears ringing from Mia's yelling. Was she always so whiny? Granted most of the time that they had hung out.... it had been in silence. Mouths doing other things and all. Mouth plugging was better than ear plugging.
He stopped practicing for a moment and looked over at Fletcher and Mia, one eyebrow up. He snickered to himself a bit and then went back to practicing, while trying to make it look like he wasn't really doing much at all.
