It seemed like Mia had the same idea as he did, but being surrounded by so many people.. Not that he had a problem with it or anything, because he didn't. How many times had he got in trouble for kissing at Durmstrang? Too many to count, but, he did not want to spend his last few days at Hogwarts being scolded by the Professor's. He had already been in trouble once since arriving at Hogwarts.. he didn't need it to happen again. So now they needed other things, not that she really needed to entertain him.
No. He'd pass with the whole dancing thing even if she would have danced just to amuse him. He shook his head and waited to see if she had something else in mind. And she did! Now, Mia juggling hippogriffs. That would be something he would have liked to see and since it was impossible.. "Where can we find hippogriffs? I would like to see this." He sat up in his chair, and was about to stand up to go 'find' a few of the creatures when she said she had a gift for him. Well.. that.. he did not expect that. He didn't have anything for her. "You.. got me a gift?" Maybe she was only kidding.
Was there really a need for Mia to ask that question? If he didn't want to be sitting there with her, he would have up and left already. "I would." he answered, and leaning in, he stole a quick kiss. All shifty, like nothing just happened.
Alright. Nikolai really had no idea what the reason behind bringing the bet up was for, but, she seemed to want to subject changed and he wouldn't question it. It found it strange to bring up, though. Hmm.. He followed her hand as she waved it over her costume. What did he think of it? "Where is the rest of it?"
“Well they must be of some interest otherwise you wouldn’t talk to yourself.” Mia would love to know what he talked to himself about. If he was anything like her and talked about the most random things. “You know they say, that the most creative people in the world are the ones that talk to themselves.” True fact.
Ah he didn’t want to see her dance not that she could blame him. Coordination and rhythm was not Mia’s strong points. But she would have done it if he had asked. She laughed as he pretended to get up and find some hippogriffs, she knew that he was going to do something like that. And she would have probably tried to juggle the hippogriffs if he asked her to. But she knew that it would be the last thing she had said that would really capture his attention.
Mia nodded her head and grinned. “I did.” She reached around to her back where the little purse sat and she brought it around and then reached inside. Thank Merlin she knew people who were really good at magic and helped her out with this. “It’s not much but I thought it would be something for you to remember me by.” And she managed to keep her voice light as she said this, knowing full well that tonight was their last night together. She pulled the plant out of the bag and held it out for him. “It’s an Australian native flower called the
Grevillea and I picked this one because it can handle the cold weather.” She looked at him with a small smile but she was holding her breath, wondering whether he would like it.
The kiss although very quick still made her heart almost want to jump out of her chest but she managed to keep calm and not make any reaction to it. Pretty much how he was acting although she did allow herself a small pleased smile, it made her very happy that he would rather be with her then with anyone else.
He obviously didn't like her outfit. She stared at him for a moment and then burst out laughing. She had been wondering what that look on his face had been about when he looked at her. “You sound like my father.” Mia covered her mouth as she continued to giggle. “Neptune Bott is wearing less than I am.” Not by much but still. And there were quite a few girls walking around in very short dresses. “You don’t like it?” She asked him, a pout forming on her lips and here she thought she looked cute. Not stunning like some of the others girls but at cute at least.
