Really a chat now and then would probably be good for the Willow and the students.
"We could try, but I'm not sure is Bartholomew will be willing to come close when not many of you seen to keen on talking to him. He may be squid, but I'm sure he had have feelings."

Appreciated the chat? For a split second, Salander's eyes grew large in alarm, but quickly passed it off as agreement, nodding his head quickly
" Well you're right it didnt talk Professor, but the Whomping Willow was uh... quite expressive indeed, even without words." Because actions speak louder than words right? At least the Willow seem to think so.
The Slytherin lad looked tentatively over the lake. For some reason he just couldnt shake the image of the giant tentacles reaching out from the murky depths and dragging anything and anybody it could reach back down into the water. Then something about what the Professor just said struck him
"Professor, just how much contact have the squi-- Bartholomew had? I mean if hardly anybody talks to him, then like the Whomping Willow, wouldnt he be a bit..." what was her word
"... temperamental?" Heckling aside of course.
