Glancing over at the staff seating, Sarah shot daggers at the woman who stood out like a sore thumb with her....fruit bowl headdress. Weird woman.
"Haha, yes. I figure it would be nice to take any aggression out on the bludgers - and maybe the opposition." Sarah grinned cheerfully and smoothed a fallen piece of hair back up into her carefully brushed barnet. "Oh you like muggle sports?" Sitting forward a bit in her seat, her ears perked up a bit more. Not that she wasn't paying attention before. "I love them too, muggle born see. My dad always took me to watch sports when I was little. Still does when I'm home." Ahhh yes, she was looking forward to doing that come the summer. Before trying to find a job.
Hehe, she'd gone all in character. "You are most welcome," Sarah giggled, nodding her head in a graceful manner. "Yes, Queen it is," she grinned, looking down at her own HUGE costume and smoothing it out a bit. "Queen Victoria actually. The younger version, though, obviously." Because she really didn't fancy wearing more black to this event, and that seemed to be all the old version wore. Judging by the pictures she'd seen anyway. And as she wasn't currently mourning anyone, Sarah thought it best to go with the brighter look.
Something caught her attention as she was talking to Melanie, making Sarah turn her head to the right. A vision of gold had appeared and was talking to....who the heck was that? Something about him seemed oddly familiar, and when he spoke to 'goldie' she figured out what it was. Of course. The lanky frame, weird curly hair under the hat - the voice. It was Oliver, dressed as...well she still didn't quite know what it was. But figuring it was best not to stare too much, Sarah waited until he was looking her way, and gave him a cheerful wave.
Now, who was Goldie? Didn't help that the girl had her back to her.
Melanie nodded.
"Yep, I was hoping Fletcher would win." She was very cheery about that, but even more happy that there had been no fatalities.
"You're right. No one died or anything." The Hufflepuff grinned, an eyebrow going up as Sarah's tummy suddenly started growling.
"You sound hungry." she stated, rather blatantly.
"Bet they've got loads of stuff up at the food table, over there." Melanie pointed in the general direction, wondering if they had butterbeer... She could go for a butterbeer.
Sarah's commentary on bludgers was gigglesnort inducing. Thus, Melanie gigglesnorted.
"Oh, for sure. Beater's Bats are probably tons better than those stress ball things." Melanie found stress balls were much more useful when you chucked them at the source of your anger, though.
"I guess I like muggle sports. I mean... I like to watch them. It's playing them that's the problem. Most of them tend to involve the ground, you see, and me and gravity aren't the greatest of friends." In other words, she was a klutz on her feet.
"My dad likes muggle sports a lot too... baseball, mainly." Ahhh... Melanie
wished her dad would take her to watch an actual game, like Sarah said her dad did.
"What sports do you watch together?" she asked curiously, twirling a strand of hair around her finger absentmindedly.
Melanie placed her hat back on her head, twisting it around so it was facing the right way.
"Cool, I guessed right." She got the Queen part correct anyway. Melanie wasn't quite sure exactly who Queen Victoria was so she just bobbed her head up and down and pretended she knew.
As Sarah waved to a a pair pf Slytherins Melanie didn't know, she took in her surroundings. There was no shortage of interesting things to look at. All the costumes were really intriguing...
especially the ones she didn't recognize.
