Hogwarts RPG Name: Auden Azarolla Ravenclaw First Year | <.< >,> v.v ^,^! "Vestis vellus!"
When Ivory had first started practicing the spell, the results had been less than perfect. In fact so much so, that her first result had been ...a handkerchief.
Staring down in disbelief at the wispy thing she could barely blow her nose with, she gave a little snort and aimed her wand. "Reverto."
Watching the fabric intently she watched as the threads lengthened, became sheerer, widened and rippled to go back to its original scarf state.
Hmmm. Maybe if she visualized that backwards? But while thinking of woolen thread?
Trying to replay the whole thing in her mind, she narrowed her eyes in concentration and pronounced the incantation even as her wand moved in a curly q. "Vestis vellus." Imagining the thread become thicker, the patterns to broaden, the width to expand, she watched as her small scarf grew.
Eying the finished product, she picked it up and weighed it in her hands. Well at least it was woolen now. Before her lay a pillow case sized piece of wool. Feeling like she was on the right track, she made quick work of reverting it and trying again. "Vestis vellus." "Reverto." "Vestis vellus." "Reverto." "Vestis vellus." "Reverto." "Vestis vellus." "Reverto."
It took quite a few tries to get the fabric to a large size and even longer to get it to the right thickness.
Examining her recent outcome, she stared at it woefully. Sure it looked woolen but it sure didn't seem warm. Reaching out and touching the fabric, she shook her head. It didn't even feel warm. Sighing, she took a few deep breaths before willing herself to try again.
It was easy to think of size and color and what not but now she needed to concentrate. Visualize. A warm woolen blanket. Flipping through her memories of what her mind associated with warmness, she thought of her blanket. The one folded neatly over her bed at home.
This time when she pronounced the incantation, she felt the rightness in the way she said the words, the good weight of the motions of her wand."Vestis vellus."
Squeezing her eyes shut, she couldn't help her ears perking up at the sound of fabric lightly falling on the floor. Popping open one eye then the other, she stared down at her accomplishment.
Grinning, she picked it up and wrapped it around herself. Success was sweet...and warm!
