He sat up a little straighter when the professor dived into the meat of the lesson. Vestis vellus. Vestis vellus. Vestis vellus. He repeated to himself several times until he thought he had the hang of it.... or how it should sound when it came time to actually say it.
Once they were allowed to start practicing, Fletcher rolled up his sleeves and set his scarf on the desk in front of him. "Vestis vellus," he muttered under his breath once more for practice. He steadied himself then and stared down the Hufflepuff scarf with intense concentration before flourishing his wand in a fancy little curly-q.
"Vestis vellus!"
It was magic! Ahh yes. The somewhat worn and threadbare scarf transformed into a scratchy, wrinkled wool blanket. Fletcher shook it out and admired the unique design, frowning only slightly when he held it up to himself and realized it would be far too short.
"Reverto," he tapped the blanket and made it back into his usual scarf. Time to try, try again. Kurumi looked over just in time to see an upperclassmen transform their scarf into a blanket and back again with ease. How did he do that?! Kurumi scooted her seat over, dragging her ridiculously long white scarf with her as she did. Clearly, she needed some help because the next time she tried...well...perhaps the entire room was going to be covered in white scratchy fabric.
"
Um...excuse me..."she half wispered. "
H-h-How did you do that?" Her cheeks flushed as sne tried to roll up her scarf so it wasn't all over the floor for someone to trip on.
