Welcome to my poetry thread,
Where I write words to be read.
It takes me time to write each line,
But every bit is specially mine.
I've not written many poems before,
But I know I'll improve by writing more.
So please bear with me when I'm not so good...
...And let me know what you like, if you would.
Hello there! I'm
Ginevra -- welcome to my poetry thread! I love writing stories and songs, but I haven't tried my hand at poetry in a while. So this thread will be my experiments in a somewhat-new art for me -- and I want
any and
all feedback you have for me! Whether you're an experienced poet or just a reader with a thought, please give me your constructive criticism, complements, or even general feelings a poem left you with. I hope you enjoy my poetry and visit my thread often -- thanks!
My first poem I have is the inspiration for my thread's title. For this poem (as well as most or all of my subsequent ones), I'll put a small description about what it means in a spoiler directly following the poem.
The open door
Lumos! There must be an escape,
A way to run from this black shape --
This shadow that haunts my every move,
This misty presence I cannot remove.
Step left, step right -- fear clouds my eyes,
Drains my will, my power, to fight.
There is just one door, a single way out,
But it lies so far from where I am now.
Not another sound, not a single spell
Except for the words I cannot quell:
Lumos! Lumos! Alohomora! Incendio!
Still nothing but fear and invisible foe.
But then another flicker aids my light --
Another wand, another person in a selfsame plight?
Lumos! Another second and three wands now shine,
Two brilliant, silent beams of light to add to mine.
The door still lies before me, the night still blackest black,
But now I catch a glimmer of white in the cracks.
Three wands go forth in unison, and, together in the war,
Move inherently as one trinity -- through the open door.
