Lexi paused as one of the students, Patroclus Hudson, answered her first question just as she was asking the second question. Not wanting to dismiss his reply, Lexi nodded in agreement then paused before moving on. It looked like Patroclus was going to say something in reply to her dark creatures question, but...maybe he'd changed his mind at the last minute. She smiled politely then turned to the next student.
"Werewolves are a very good example, Mr. Bennett," Lexi commented, giving him a small nod to accompany her reply.
"Inferi, yes," Lexi said, shuddering at the very thought of the creepy creatures. Inferi were, to her, perhaps one of the most frightening creatures out there. One of her biggest fears was encountering one...or Merlin forbid, a whole group of them.
"That's right," Lexi said, turning to Evelyn, who'd asked about silencing the scream of a banshee.
"Right. Banshees...Silencing Charms...all helpful in defending ourselves," Lexi replied, nodding as she glanced from Mia then to Destiny.
Was Shepard passing notes?
Really? Passing notes in
her class? Lexi had seen Evelyn make a grab for that parchment, but Destiny had protected it at the very last minute.
"Miss Shepard, I'm guessing that parchment is full of...class notes?" she questioned.
She said nothing about the red cap, although, the answer was correct. The creatures could be repelled with the use of charms.
Merlin, Salander seemed really excited about his answer! Or maybe he just liked dugbogs. Either way, ...
"Mmhmm, dugbogs are a good example," she remarked.
Fletcher.
Fletcher. That boy always seemed up to something, yet--right now, Lexi couldn't out her finger on just what that might be. She'd hate to have to charm another selection from his wardrobe a pretty pink color.
"Dragons, Dugbogs, and Grindylows," Oh, my! she said, nodding as she answered.
"All correct, Mr. Fletcher." "Yes, pixies can be rather annoying if not kept under control," Lexi agreed. Ugh, she'd absolutely hate to get stuck in a room full of uncontrolled pixies!
"Immobulus," she added, smiling at Annie.
"You're right. There may not be a specific spell to attack a certain dark creature, but there's other charms we can use to lessen the attack or at least distract the creature," she commented.
"Like, the mirror you mentioned." "Hmm, vampires...light," Lexi said, thinking on that a bit.
"That's good thinking. Good example." "Yes, spiders! Not much has mentioned about them yet," Lexi said with a nod.
A dementor?!?! "A dementor? Merlin, no, child!" Lexi said, laughing lightheartedly. She paused, and with a thoughtful expression on her face, she added,
"Well, I suppose that depends on whether or not dementors frighten you the most."
Lexi started to help the girl with the end of her sentence, but in the end, Dianna was able to come up with it all on her own.
"Yes, that's right! Good example," she commented.
Lexi laughed lightly, amused at the girl's answer.
"Yes, if a person were a dark creature, we could use Expelliarmus to disarm it," she remarked.
"Right, fire crabs, who can shoot fire out their...back sides," she said, nodding in agreement.

====================
Just when Lexi thought that absolutely no one was going to mention the
one dark creature that she'd hoped would at least be brought up once, a whole chorus of students chimed in, all supplying thought and questions about...
"Boggarts! Yes!" she said, almost too excitedly. On that note, she strolled over the shaking object beneath the sheet and pulled the sheet off, casting it the side a second later.
"I've encountered a boggart in an old desk and rather than simply taking care of it myself, I decided to incorporate it into a class--about defense charms, of course."
As if on cue, the desk shook just a bit harder.
"Now, what exactly is a boggart, and why is it best to always have someone with you when you're encountering one?" she asked.
OOC: Hey, guys! *waves* Please answer just the question Lexi's asked, as she has other questions all lined up, and I'd like to prevent all of them being answered in one post. Thanks so much!
