Don't screw that up. Kissing me isn't worth you losing a great girl." Marie felt the tears stinging her eyes. It finally hit her... Carter really had broken up with her. Not only that but he couldn't even stand to be around her for more than two minutes at a time.
"I really don't know what to tell you to say to her." she said wiping away the tears. "Whatever you tell her though you are going to have to prove to her that she means a lot to you, that you want no one other than her. Even if that means you telling her you won't be friends with me anymore." Yeah, Marie had a feeling that if Mina found this out she was going to lose a friend for sure. Well two friends actually... Evan and Mina.
Yeah, her year was just getting better and better here.
Just as Evan opened his mouth to say something back, he saw her eyes water. Aww... he hated to see her like that. Dragging his chair next to her--which took a little effort since he had to push back another desk--he threw his right arm over her and pulled her towards him for her to lean on.
"He's not worth it, Marie," he tried to comfort her, with an annoying voice telling him he sucked at it once again.
"Do you want me to beat him?" And he was pretty serious there, he
could beat him. And for a time he thought they could be friends... hmpf. He should have listened to his inner voice that said this was only a stunt.
Looking into her eyes thougthfully, he tried to figure out something to say to Mina. It
was going to be hard, he knew it. Frowning, he said
"I'm not going to stop being friends with you." Nope, that friendship took a lot from him to gain, and he wasn't going to just let it go
unlike Marie who had given up on him so easily for Jerk-ter.
