Evan, upon hearing Marie talk, finally found the courage to look up at her. She looked like a mess too. Pfft. When would she stop apologising?! Closing his eyes for a moment, he opened them to face Marie. "I'm an idiot," he said, more to himself than to her. Yeah, why was he still here? Why didn't he just hide for the rest of his life?
Why was Evan so insistent on trying to make her believe she did nothing wrong here? Marie knew that what she did was wrong, no matter how many times Evan told her it wasn't her fault. It was... it was as much her fault as it was his. She was by no means innocent here.
"I'm just as responsible as you are. In case you didn't realize it, I did kiss you back." and I enjoyed it too. What is he thinking now?
"Evan, don't say that. You do deserve Mina. I know she makes you happy and you deserve to be happy." Merlin knows that after all she had put him through in the past two years the boys definitely deserved some happiness.

Maybe it really was time she moved on. Carter was making it pretty clear to her now that he still didn't want anything to do with her.
