But then he noticed all his classmates heading in to the castle...covered in feathers. "Birds. They all look like birds. Scary, scary birds." he whimpered. He only hoped he didn't look as bad. Which he didn't really, having taken off most of the feathers. "Don't let them hurt me!" he yelled, putting his arms around his head again. Protection, that's what that is.
Dear Merlin!
Was the child...scared of...
the feathers? Lexi gave a half-disapproving glance then tapped him a few times on the shoulder, urging him to stand up.
"Alright, alright. They're only feathers, so I think you'll be safe. No--I know you'll be safe," she insisted.
When the Slytherin prefect came over to check on things, Lexi assumed the boy was now in safe hands.
"Please help your housemate back to class. He's alright--just afraid of the feathers," she reported. She gave the boy one last good look then turned to Rex again.

That was both terrifying and kinda awesome. "Um, thanks," she said hesitatnly as her pet was given back and safely nestled in her arms. "And you're welcome. Probably not, but what I said back in the classroom still stands. I mean, if you want my help trying to find another one you can adopt. It's not like you don't know where to find me either, yknow?," she said, getting back a little of her playfulness. Now that Draco was back with her. "Oh, and class was really fun," she added, a split-second before the professor turned away. It had been, beyond her fear of not getting her ferret back and her fear of flying. It was certainly different from any classes she'd taken before, although the paintball war in DADA was pretty awesome too.
As the professor went on to have her discussions with the other students, Grayson started to turn away. To head back off the field and back to the castle, but she couldn't resist saying anything else. "Well, I guess I'll see you later. Next class, if not before." Now she needed to head back to retrieve the rest of her things from the classroom and then figure out what she was going to do next. Not to mention she was keeping Draco close for a while.
Lexi gave Grayson a warm smile.
"Thanks for offering to help, Miss Kelly. I know just who to come to if I need more information on adopting a ferret. You have a lovely pet there," she said. She nodded in reply when the girl said she'd see her later--in class or possibly before.
"Same to you! Have a good day!"
