Mia stopped her jumping as well so that she could pay attention to what Melanie was saying and she nodded her head. "Oh yeah. She's the one who set some kids on fire last term, right? I heard about that." And she didn't need telling twice to stay away from her. Mia had already seen what can happen when someone is set on fire seeing how she managed to set her father alight and it was one of the scariest things ever.

Well Mia was sure that she had already broken a few school rules but seeing how she hadn't been caught, it was all good but she would remember it. Giggling at Melanie's last piece of advice, Mia began jumping again. "Well if they're all as cool as you then I am not going to have too much problems."

Was she happy to be a Puff? Mia didn't have to think twice about that. "Oh yes." She said with a happy nod of her head. "When my friend Pat told me how the sorting hat divides us into the houses, I just knew straight away that I would be in Hufflepuff and I couldn't be more excited about it. We seem to have the nicest people in our house."
Ahh, so she already knew about what Lafay had done last term. "Yeah, that's the one." Melanie nodded, a very solemn look on her face. Really, the lady had to be a nut job going around doing stuff like that... and scary. Scaaaary Lafay.

She bounced some more, grinning at Mia's words. "You think I'm cool!" she exclaimed, smiling like a child that had just been given the last slice of cake. If that wasn't an ego boost she didn't know what was. "Thank you... You won't. And if you do, let me know." As long as she didn't go to her about boy problems Melanie could be helpful.

"Sweet." Who wouldn't want to be a Hufflepuff? "Nicest, fairest and most loyal." Melanie corrected humbly cheerfully, doing a little hop on each word. "You seem very nice." she decided, halting in her jumping for a second, and looking at her thoughtfully. The younger girl reminded her a little of Cadence. "Is your family magical, then?" she asked curiously. She did say her dad had been teaching her at home, right?
