"I don't blame you. I bet it's nerve wracking." Starting any new school would make her nervous, but Melanie couldn't remember what it was like to go to school the very first time. She smiled slightly when Mia asked her if she had tips, halting in her jumping for a moment to think. "Well. I guess I can. Don't mess with Professor Lafay." She thought about it, but Melanie wasn't going to tell her she set children on fire. She didn't want to scare the girl. "Be mindful of the rules. You don't want to lose points. Try not to worry too much, though." Melanie started jumping again, as if to demonstrate. "Have fun while you're here." Bounce, bounce, bounce. "Ohh, and make friends of all ages. We older kids are cool too." Clearly, Melanie was just radiating coolness. Hehe.
Hmm. "Fourth year." she repeated thoughtfully. "Awesome. So, are you happy to be a Puff'?" Melanie asked, stumbling a little... and then righting herself. She kept on hoppin'.
Oh wow. Mia could tell that Melanie had done this before. She could jump really high and keep her balance at the same time. She managed to make it look all rather graceful whereas Mia had arms and legs going everywhere.
Mia stopped her jumping as well so that she could pay attention to what Melanie was saying and she nodded her head. "Oh yeah. She's the one who set some kids on fire last term, right? I heard about that." And she didn't need telling twice to stay away from her. Mia had already seen what can happen when someone is set on fire seeing how she managed to set her father alight and it was one of the scariest things ever.
Well Mia was sure that she had already broken a few school rules but seeing how she hadn't been caught, it was all good but she would remember it. Giggling at Melanie's last piece of advice, Mia began jumping again. "Well if they're all as cool as you then I am not going to have too much problems."
Was she happy to be a Puff? Mia didn't have to think twice about that. "Oh yes." She said with a happy nod of her head. "When my friend Pat told me how the sorting hat divides us into the houses, I just knew straight away that I would be in Hufflepuff and I couldn't be more excited about it. We seem to have the nicest people in our house."
