Aiden frowned and matched her sigh. "
Sorry," he apologized. "
I'm not unenthusiastic about talking to you, it's just different now.. you know? Not being together." Well, the only difference was that they were broken up. And they were dating different people. But nothing changed about the way he felt for her.
Okay, the music subject pretty much died out now.. Still, the whole 'Such Great Heights' thing lifted his spirits, if only slightly. It made him rethink Ella and Aiden. Although, maybe he shouldn't think about it right now.. Too much emotion involved.
This was true. "
I'm glad I am getting to at least talk to you, though.." He looked at her a little warily, expecting another cold remark to that. But, what was this..? He straightened up when she actually agreed to show him her artwork and he watched eagerly as she brought the pad over. "
Really?" This was BIG. Ella showing her artwork was very uncommon. Like, completely. The seventh year got rather sidetracked though as he noticed her shuffle toward him a little, and he couldn't help but let his eyes linger on her a moment too long before tearing his eyes away to see her drawing.
Holy smokes. And Ella claimed that she
wasn't a good artist. HAH! "
Ella, this is amazing," he said, his eyes still surveying the detail of the cat. "
You cut yourself way too short on credit.. it looks like a photograph for Merlin's sake." If anything she should be showing her work off, it was so good. "
You really have a lot of talent.." He himself was no artist, but he could certainly know a good drawing when he saw one.
O.O
"
Gaspar?" She was dating
Gaspar? Aiden had just met this dude the other day; he must've seemed like such an idiot. Talking to his ex-girlfriends new guy and not even knowing it. Ughh,
idiot! He could just imagine him wooing her in that stupid, ridiculous Portuguese accent. 'Vhy Ella, you are zuch a beeutiful red rose, pleeze be my girlfriend. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.

Aiden huffed and turned away.
But his heart sank as he watched her rave about him and tell him about how they had so much in common and all that. "
Well, we have stuff in common," he said quietly, his tone coming out a lot more defeated than he anticipated. He couldn't even stand thinking about Ella with another guy, and look - now it was reality. He lowered his eyes. "
Yeah, all right. Spare me the details."
Hearing a tapping sort of noise, Aiden quickly realized that Ella was getting impatient about something. He finally brought his gaze back to her when she spoke his name. "
Yeah?" Oh. Wow, she wanted to know if she was a rebound. What was it with rebound paranoia? He waited until their eyes met so that she could see he was being honest. "
I told you that I love you, Ella. I've never even said that to anyone before. Ever." He shook his head. Calling her Rebound!girl was obviously a defense mechanism. "
You weren't a rebound. Savannah just couldn't stand that I feel so strongly for you." And, on the other hand, he had been broken up with Savannah for months before he started taking a liking to Ella.
