Even though she had caught the glances he was sparing her, she didn't return them all, enjoying watching his fingers on guitar.
When the song ended, she turned her hazel eyes and smile on him. "That vas a very lovely song." Not to slow to make her fall asleep, but not to fast either. It was perfect. Something she would enjoy listening to while studying.
Her eyes flicked over to the girl who so rudely interrupted the ending of the song, and continued to speak. She was interrupting and it was late. Sandra was in no mood to entertain anyone at this hour who wasn't a hot guy.
"Vhat song vas that?" Her eyes and full attention back on him. She would have not thought him to be well versed on muggle things, like music.
Carr does not like to be snuffed. No, not at all. It's true that she did interrupt them in whatever private moment they were having, but it couldn't have been
too private if they were having it in the middle of the common room, could it? Honestly, if you wanted to be alone with someone while they serenaded you, you could just go find an empty room in the castle. There were dozens of unused rooms, or rooms that were only used for a couple of hours a week.
A tiny, vindictive spark blossomed in Carr's demeanor and she wanted to fully immerse herself in their conversation just to show the Durmstrang girl--for now she recognized the two of them as visitors for the Tournament--that she didn't
own the right to talk to someone. She knew this was a bad idea, though. Inter-school unity and all that mess. Besides, it wasn't like Carr was attracted to the French student? Sure, he was obviously musically inclined which was a definite turn-on in Carr's book, but he wasn't like
beautiful or something.
Though, she supposed he
could be if he just cut his hair and smiled with all of his teeth. Not that looks were the only thing that mattered. You had to be funny and nice, too. Carr wondered if he was funny and nice, then realized she was internal monologuing, and answered the girl's question before the boy could.
"It's called 'You've Got a Friend in Me,'" she said, smiling.
"It's a Randy Newman tune most known for its role as the main theme to the 1995 animated film 'Toy Story,' and than again in 1999 and 2010 when the two sequels came out."
Carr wasn't really a movie buff, but she knew her music and especially new her Randy Newman.
