"Yeah, I was going to stay here, until Lily asked me over. I'll have to check with her though. Otherwise, I might go visit my Grandad in Ireland. I haven't seen him in a while." She stopped thoughtfully. She hadn't heard Alice speak about her dad before; she just knew that her mother had not told them about her magical abilities. "What does your dad do?" She asked curiously, hoping she wasn't prying.
She nodded. "Yes, I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I was walking through the grounds, and saw her cottage, so I thought, because I was there, I should ask. She said there was no way to call him back." Rubiey sighed sadly. Man, she missed her owl.
"Are you taking flying lessons? I was thinking about it, but I'm not really a fan of flying in airplanes. I am deathly afraid of heights." Alice's palms were already getting sweaty at the thought of it.
"Yeah, I guess I don't mention my dad much," Alice said apologetically.
"My dad works at the local library in my town. Everyone there thought I would take over running it once I got my college degree and everything, but I am not sure that is going to pan out quite as planned." Alice laughed gently.
"Everyone in the town loves him and knows basically everything about my family. Well, except the fact that my mom and I are witches, but I don't really mind. It kind of creates a big family atmosphere, you know?" Alice thought for a moment. She was sure her dad was probably at the library right now, stacking new books and cleaning the place.
"I'm sure your owl will turn up Rubiey. Stay positive," Alice said, rubbing Rubiey's shoulder gently.
