So, I'm kind of having a bad day and thought maybe posting would make me feel better?

After the ordeal with rescuing Harry, Remus placed a Fidelius Charm on George and Emily’s house, as well as his and Tonks’. George and Emily spent their nights at their own house to give more room at the Burrow for Fleur’s family. They spent their days helping to set up for the wedding or working at the shop. It was a week before Bill’s wedding, and Emily and George decided to stay home, talking and relaxing.

“We need to talk,” Emily whispered against George’s chest as he played with her red curls. They were lying across the sofa, snuggled up.

“Mmmm, what about?” he answered.

Emily hesitated, not knowing how to start this. She twisted in his arms so that she could see his face. He saw her expression of pain and worry, so he cupped her face in his hands.

“You can tell me anything, you know that, right?” he said softly. Emily nodded slightly as a tear escaped her eye.

“I just don’t know how to tell you,” she whispered. George wiped away her tears with his fingertips as his eyebrows knitted in confusion. Emily concentrated on a part of his neck rather than his eyes as he stared at her.

“I was given a mission,” she whispered. George tensed slightly under her.

“Who gave you the mission?” he asked quietly.

“Dumbledore,” she said.

“Dumbledore? But then, why are you only just now telling me about it?”

“Because we thought it best if I didn’t tell you until it was getting sooner to when I set out on it.”

“What kind of mission? What do you have to do?” he asked in a whisper.

“I…I can’t tell you, Georgie. He told me to tell no one,” she whispered.

“Is it one you can do from home?” Emily shook her head slightly as she felt his gaze on her face. “Don’t go,” he whispered.

Emily started crying softly, the tears spilling over onto his shirt. “I have to.”

“No, don’t go. Stay with me,” he whispered.

“I promised. I have to go,” she said.

“Let me go with you,” he whispered. Emily’s eyes finally met his and she could see the pain and heartbreak they held.

“You have to stay here. You have to stay with your family,” she whispered.

“You are my family,” he whispered.

Emily nodded slightly. “You can’t come. You have to stay here.”

“When do you leave?”
he asked quietly.

“I’m not sure yet, but I know it’s soon,” she whispered. He shook his head slightly before his arms wrapped around her waist and he pulled her closer to him. He kissed her tender lips softly before he intensified their kisses. She felt the urgency and the need of his kissing as she knotted her hands in his hair.

“Promise me, you’ll be okay,” he whispered as she kissed his neck and collar bone.

“I promise,” she whispered between kisses.

“Promise me that you’ll come home to me,” he whispered.

Emily pulled back to look at him. Her fingers grazed his pleading lips. “I promise that I will always come home to you,” she whispered.

“I love you.”

“Forever and Always,” she whispered.

She kissed him again, longer this time. He stood up from the couch, wrapping Emily’s legs around his waist. He carried her up the stairs and into their bedroom as she kissed his neck. She pulled his shirt off as he tackled her on the bed.

“I’m going to miss you,” he whispered against her cheek.

“Prove it,” she giggled. He pulled back to look at her before he kissed her full on the lips.
