Well, at least he was somewhat aware of why he was here. He blinked when he added in the comment about the shoe though. SIGH.

Nolan wasn't sure that convincing Adam that his dream was legit was going to change his attitude, so he changed his approach.
"Even if YOU thought it was a dumb dream, it wasn't polite to point it out to him. I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate it if someone told you that YOUR dream was pointless and had no meaning, right?"
Reverse psychology. Or, erm, was that something else? Guilt trip? Man, Nolan was horrible at this stuff.
