She finally managed to give Carter a smile and gestured towards the pumpkins. "They're pretty awesome looking. Old Artie would be jealous if he could see these."

Carter laughed a little. "Yeah... I heard about the rhymes..." he said looking at the ground. "I had no idea I was so... poetic..." he said with a nervous laugh. Could you call rhyming poetic?

"Well... she was kinda hoping that something else would happen. She wasn't giving me a love potion because she wanted me to fall for her..." he said. Did that accurately describe what had happened? Kinda? Maybe?

Oh, yay! Pumpkin talk. That wouldn't be awkward. At least he hoped it wouldn't be. "Yeah. I kind of want to get my hands on one and make a pie." he said patting the closest one. Or get one, enlarge it, and hide in it. Either option worked.

"Old Artie...?" he asked. Hopefully that wasn't someone he was supposed to know. Because... you know... he didn't.
