Jay looked up, eyes sullen, face expressionless. "Well.. That's... interresting.." Mehh.. not really since it was boring for her and all. Jay pulled his knees a bit closer, rested his elbows on top and then put his chin in his hands. He lifted his head from his hands when she spoke. There were so many of them. Most of them were orange and attached to their vines, as they should be, yet some of them were green, since they were not yet ripe for the pickin'. Some were well shaped, others were a mess because students had decided to attack them, but then again, it could have been birds as well. It most likely was a combined effort on both parts.
Jayce lifted his head once again as he was asked a question. He nodded a reply and spoke. "Yeah.. we um.. we did." Siiiiigh. "Well.. i um.. i couldn't take not telling her anymore. You know? It kind of got to me i guess." he threw in a shrug there. "But she was upset, and i was too.. and i think we had just drifted apart over the summer, causing all of this. So, it wasn't reall your fault. It probably would have ended soon enough anyway." Totally not her fault. "Thanks i guess."
Hayley listened intently as he told her of why Trixie and him broke up. She wouldn't dare speak a word, she liked to listen to people's problems, mostly why people told her that she was a good listener. She was proud of that title and meant to keep to it. Once Jayce was done speaking she felt like it was needed for her to help him cheer up a little.
"Jayce," Hayley paused, taking a seat next to him on the pumpkin, not caring if her skirt got dirty or not because her friend was in need,
"I really am truly sorry for what I did and of course I regret kissing you for what happened. It was wrong and don't you dare tell me it wasn't." She said, lying a little. She didn't regret it at all, but she kind of did for what happened between Trixie and him. She felt horrible really.
"The feeling will be over soon, trust me. I've been through this situation before. It will just take some time." She added.
Hayley stood up once again, brushing all the dirt from her white skirt from the pumpkin.
"Alright, stand up we're going to do something that always cheers me up when something like this happens." She said holding out her hand with a smile planted upon her face. He would never know what was going to be in store for him.
