"I'm...fine...yes. Thank you."
...
Oh. "Oh!" She laughed, "Oh, yes, sir, I am. I'm just..." She tapped at her dark glasses, "I'm blind."
Preston nodded his head.
"N-n-no." Preston shook his head.
"I-I-I'm f-fine, I-I-I j-just f-f-found th-this b-b-bell." Preston told her holding the bell out in his open hand.
Oh. That explained, the dark glasses and the stick. Preston bit his lip.
"Is th-that t-t-to h-help y-you w-walk? Th-the st-stick I-I m-mean." Preston asked, he had never met a blind person before, so he wasn't sure what they did to get about.
He realized then that she wouldn't be able to see the bell. He took a step closer and took her hand that wasn't holding the stick and placed it in her hand and closed it around the bell.
"I-I-I th-th-think i-i-it's a-a c-cat b-b-bell." He told her.
"Wh-what d-do you th-think?" He asked her.
