Alice was very excited to be in this class. She didn't know anything about spells but figured it was always good to know spells to protect herself. She took an open seat, looking around the room, before focusing her attention of Professor Tate. Alice wasn't really sure about participating in the first class, since she was only a first year and didn't know much, so she merely pulled out some parchment and a writing utensil, and listened to Professor Tate and the other students.

"Now, let's continue in this train of thought for a moment. How can we 'be prepared' as the Muggle Scouts say? As the GlitterPuff says... how can we be vigilant?"
Muggle scouts? What a peculiar phrase. Was he referring to police men? And who in the world was Glitterpuff? Alice thought for a moment about how a policeman would handle a tough situation....Alice raised her hand, deciding the worst thing that could happen was she would get wrong.
"Well Professor I think it's important to make sure you are armed with your wand, and have at least some idea of the area around you, as well as an estimate as to how many people or creatures you might be dealing with?"
