Preston smiled at MJ. "Y-yes." He smiled showing all teeth before he ran the short distance between them and hugged her tightly around her waist. "I-I-I'm f-f-fine. He told her, thinking back to the summer when he was in Diagon Alley when he tripped and scabbed his knees and hands up badly getting blood everywhere. That was when he met Mr. Torin.
"D-d-did y-you t-t-think I-I'd f-f-for-forget y-you?" He asked, he wouldn't be able to forget MJ and how she had helped him in Diagon. He'd probably still be looking for robes and books if it weren't for her. He hugged her a bit tighter, thankful to have finally found her.
"I-I-I'm h-h-happy I-I f-f-found you!" he exclaimed, still clinging onto MJ.
She inhaled sharply when he hugged her, a bit surprised. MJ then smiled and relaxed, how sweet and beautiful it was just having a little one to look after. She patted his head, occasionally smoothing down a curl or two. "Well, good," she said, "I don't want you to get hurt." How true that was. MJ thought it would pain her too much to see that, especially if she couldn't fix whatever was ailing him.
"You are?" She chuckled a bit, " What, did you think I was just going to disappear?" She smiled warmly at him. "I will never do that, Preston. Ever, I promise."
She knew at that second that she was going to protect this boy. Whenever he tripped, she'd be there. Had a question on homework, she'd be there.
She smiled and gave Preston a squeeze. "What are you up to?" she asked.
