"Just a second," Skye said to Celeste. She turned to see Carin sitting a little ways away, looking at her. And talking. Skye didn't really want to talk to anyone involved in that fight at dinner, but she had to be polite. Ish. She pursed her lips a little and regarded Carin in silence for a few moments before answering.

"You're right, you shouldn't have put me into that position," she said a little stiffly. "But...I'm going to be the bigger person in this case and accept your apology." She wasn't a complete pushover. She needed the younger girls to realize exactly what they had done wrong, and to feel bad about it. It was good for them, and it made it more likely that there wouldn't be a repeat.
"Thanks," Carin said, trying to smile, but Skye's rather cold response made it difficult for her to act like nothing had happened. Oh, well, perhaps with time it would work out?

"Anyway, I hope we can still talk sometime," Carin added, before smiling a little wider and walking away. She'd let Skye make the first move next time; if the older girl would even want to do that, that is.

"How have you been?" She asked awkwardly not knowing how to refer to the fur thing. Did it even hurt when she was back to no-fur form? Louisa felt ashamed remembering this and blushed a bit.

"Your cat's... active one." She remarked trying not to envy her, for her cat laid there sleeping since they got to Hogwarts. Heh. Kitty hated her no doubt but why... that was her question. Maybe she could ask Carin for tips.

"Third year sounds cool. You're not young and not old either. It's kind of in the middle." She said rather bitterly. Being a firstie has caused her many awkward situations so far and she hated it.

So, Vashti and Carin knew each other. Hmmm. Nice.
Or not.
Was Vashti as 'aggressive' as Carin when it came to her own benefit? Louisa couldn't judge either of them accurately and kept herself at ease. Comeon! She's just started school and she's discovering people! Take it easy girl! She told herself that in a few seconds.

"It must be cool to be back to Hogwarts for you then." She told Vashti trying to start a friendly conversation that could evaporate her doubts.
"Yeah, Astor's more hyper than is good for him," Carin responded to Louisa's remark. "Perhaps he just got used to having too much space, my house is pretty big and he used to go wild all over it. Maybe he'll wake Kitty up a bit too?" Carin suggested, motioning that she could put Astor into the other cat's basket. Perhaps they'd like each other.

"And I'm... fine, I think, all things considered," she answered Louisa's question, but without meeting the younger girl's eyes. She didn't particularly feel like talking about the feast, to be honest. "How about you?" she felt inclined to ask after a moment, though.

She was still upset over that, but even if Louisa admitted that it was, she wasn't going to go off on the girl. She was only first year, after all, and obviously she wouldn't have done it on purpose. But still, Vashti wanted to know exactly what caused them to lose points. She just wanted to know.

It was only then, when Louisa mentioned it, that she noticed the cat, and she couldn't help letting out an, "AWWW!" She loved cats and this one was soooo cuuuute! "I've read that cats usually like to sleep a lot," she answered. "I can't remember what the average amount of time was, but it was a lot. So I think she's okay, just acting like a typical cat."

She was a wrestler too? Well that was also different. To each their own, Vashti reminded herself again. "I like to read," she answered, though she figured that shouldn't be too much of a surprise; most Ravenclaws liked to read, "and hang out with my friends. Oh, and Quidditch. I love playing Quidditch."
Uhoh. Carin hadn't really been following Vashti's and Louisa's conversation that closely, but from what she could hear, they were discussing the feast. And the fight. And the points she and Enya had lost.

And Vashti was about to find out about everything from Louisa. Well, she might as well find out from Carin herself; she still wasn't entirely sure she'd trust Louisa, considering the girl's impossible-to-understand loyalty to Enya.

"Yeah, the loss of points would have been partly my fault, mine and this other girl's. We argued at the feast and tried cursing each other and after getting into a food fight, Kingsley noticed and took the points away."

There, she'd said it, in a nutshell. She didn't look at Vashti or Louisa, though. She was sure that Vashti would just turn and walk away, maybe get mad at her first and then disappear. And she didn't want to see one of the first people who were nice to her that year turn her back on her.
