Personality: It’s not difficult where to begin when discussing Jack Riding’s personality; vain. So vain, that it outshines practically all of his other attributes. Jack cannot continue with a conversation unless there is an element in there about him being either gorgeous, awesome at everything, extremely clever or/and the best person you will ever come across. Yes, he is quite clever, but it’s a shame not many people think so because he brags so much. Bragging is his speciality. Jack also seems to have a keen interest in women, but only pretty women, pretty according to him. He will stop at nothing to make sure he’s kissed every girl, age appropriate of course, in Hogwarts. Flirting seems to be another of his specialities, it seems to boy cannot help himself when he is with a young lady who can be counted as gorgeous as himself. Other attributes include calling people pet names. This is not something he has inherited from his parents, in fact, no one does it in his family. Pet names include 'darling', 'love' and 'dear'. Darling being his favourite. He only uses pet names towards women, and on one occasion to a guy, finding it hilarious by freaking the poor guy out. Jack is also quite a formal, suave gentlemen and usually likes to wear semi-formal clothing, including blazers.

Background/History: Jack was brought up in a very traditional pureblood household, and was expected to attend the ‘Pureblood Parties’, in which pureblood families get to together to attend this formal gathering. When really, they were just ways of getting teenagers get matched up with a perfect pureblood significant other. Jack stopped attending when he realised what was going on.

Jack has been homeschooled all of his life, hating every moment of it, since he wasn’t keen on his parents, but loved his younger brother, Alexander, whom is still being forced to be homeschooled. Jack now attends Hogwarts, much to the dismay of Arthur and Charlotte, and hopefully Alexander will join him soon.

One very significant part of Jack's life was that he suffered from Pyromania for almost a year, and set his living room on fire. Of course, before actually taking him to a psychiatrist, his parents assumed that he was just misbehaving on a large scale, and grounded him for a long time, to the point where he cried because he was not allowed to have a fire going in his fireplace, nor was he allowed to have any matches. So, concerned for their eldest son, Mr and Mrs Riding took Jack finally to get some help, only finding it was mild Pyromania, which was such a relief. He was only four at this point.
